Avis à la une
The rock comedy The Beat Beneath My Feet follows Tom (Nick Galtizine) as he tries to overcome the obstacles of his youth. Tom has dreams of competing in the local battle of the bands and becoming a famous rock star, but with his mother's objections from a failed relationship with Tom's rocker father, he must keep those dreams to himself. Tom and his mom get to meet his unruly downstairs neighbor, Steve (Luke Perry), after enduring multiple nights of blasting recorded guitar music. After this not so warm meeting, Tom is able to identify Steve as a former rock guitarist that was believed to be dead. Once he uncovers this information about his neighbor, Tom tries to use it as blackmail for guitar lessons. Though at first getting off to a rocky start, the two slowly form a close bond giving Tom the opportunity to find his voice both on and off the stage. The director (John Williams) is able to portray Tom's newfound voice in a unique way that instantly drew me in, and was one of my favorite aspects of the film. From the use of cartoon-like animation Williams creates music videos throughout the film that draw inspiration from Radiohead. I also read that Nick Galtizine sang all the songs performed in the movie himself, which was really impressive and made his performances in the film more genuine. From a great soundtrack to beautiful cinematography The Beat Beneath My Feet is a heartfelt coming of age drama that I highly recommend you give a watch.
I like movies about music, and while this film offered no surprises in the story it was still enjoyable due to the strong performances from the two male leads. Luke Perry is a great fit for his role as the former rock star with a tragic past. Nick Galitzine does very well as the shy teen who just wants to play music, even though he has to hide his love of music from his mom.
The music and song writing are not very deep but fit the character who is just learning to play. Perry and Galitzine do their own singing and playing in the film, and while they may not be ready for music careers they both perform well within the limits of their roles.

Even though the story is cliche and you kind of know where the story is heading, it is simple and sweet! I like the relationship between Steve and Tom. Tom may be a nerd but he Knows how to pester and annoy an adult like a kid. Love this movie. It feels short! The good ending was rather abrupt tho!!
The Beat Beneath My Feet is a charming musical dramaedy about a teenage social outcast named Tom (Nicholas Galitzine) who discovers his rowdy neighbor (Luke Perry) is actually a former rock & roll legend who fakes his own death to escape financial debt. I loved this coming-of-age film because it thoughtfully shows the struggles of growing up and finding yourself. It is definitely relatable to young adults and teens who have ever struggled with fitting in and I especially loved how Tom's passion of music helped him reach his full-potential. It also included an amazingly up- beat soundtrack that was an exceptional addition to the film. This inspirational indie flick is definitely worth the watch if you haven't already had the chance to see it.
I loved it! Cool soundtrack and nice performance. Even if you can anticipate the events and to where they are going you still can enjoy the movie.
I think it is a low budget movie but that will not affect the fact that it is very well made. I did not like the animated parts but I am sure others would have different opinions about it. The story is very simple and the escalation of events is done in a smooth pace.
Nicholas Galitzine did well taking in consideration that this is his first movie, Luke Perry was very convincing too
Worth watching for sure specially if you like musicals.
