Dosen Ghaib: Sudah Malam Atau Sudah Tahu

Now, of course I wasn't familiar with this 2024 Indonesian horror movie from director Guntur Soeharjanto prior to sitting down and watching it. With it being an Asian horror movie, two of my favorite things combined, of course I needed no persuasion to sit down and watch it.

However, writer Evelyn Afnilia wrote a rather bland and generic script, and I have to admit that it was a huge struggle to sit through this ordeal of a movie, especially since it was so incredibly slow paced and boring. So yeah, I wasn't particularly impressed with the storyline or the level of entertainment that the movie had to it.

I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, and that is something I do enjoy when I watch a movie.

Visually, then the movie was okay. Nothing outstanding, not even for an Asian horror movie. Visually there are far better and more impressive Indonesian horror movies out there.

If you enjoy Asian horror movies, then "Dosen Ghaib: Sudah Malam Atau Sudah Tahu" is not a movie that I would recommend you to spend 94 minutes on watching.

The film Dosen Ghaib has a storyline that, in my opinion, feels too generic and follows a predictable plot. The horror elements presented in this film use a formula that has become too mainstream, lacking any truly eerie aspects that would make me, as a viewer, feel a sense of suspense. I believe this film only startles the audience with extremely loud sound effects that hurt my ears. Aside from the excessively loud sound effects that surprise me, there is nothing else significant enough to make this film truly terrifying. Throughout the movie, I couldn't feel any real horror or fear-what I experienced was merely sudden loud noises that startled me and hurt my ears.
