The Rose's Tale: Meigui Gushi

Liu Yifei keeps bring us amazing c-dramas! Even though this drama as adapted from the novel of Yishu, it's blending a lot of current female trends and topics. It's giving us so many perspectives to think about how individuals especially women to love herself and lives her life. The quality and production of this drama is outstanding and so appealing to watch! Liu Yifei as the leading actress, keeps giving us surprises when it comes to acting and understanding the development of her character (Huang Yimei)! She's so versatile! I enjoyed so much to watch her self growth, her love story, her family story, etc. Other cast is also doing a grey job. 10/10.

It was disappointing from the first minutes.

The protagonist is truly the representative of toxic feminism. The kind who think being true to yourself is about doing whatever you want, without any responsibility, without facing any consequences, and always playing victim when chickens come home to roost.

To be honest, I couldn't bring myself to watch all of it. After watching the first episode, I was so disgusted that I just skipped through the rest. I feel bad for wasting even that much time.

Being a powerful modern independent woman has nothing to do with being reckless and irresponsible.

And you certainly don't need to flirt with any male species to prove you exist!

Very different from previous c-dramas I've seen. The script centers around Huang Yimei (Rosie). The whole drama provides a unique female perspective and explores the growth of a woman in a fast-developing social environment. The theme is about a woman being herself instead of being labeled by various social standards. She could be a working woman, a lover, a mom, a daughter, and ultimately, her trueself. Liu Yifei is such a beautiful, versatile and talented actress! She could be a college student and a mature mom at the same series. Her acting is both accurate and intriguing. The whole cast did a great job! The cinematography and soundtrack are also amazing. Really enjoy watching this series!
