Good decision (to watch)

No pun intended - the title may not be an actual existing word (well not yet, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets included in future editions of word encyclopedias) ... but the root of the word is a bit of a give away when it comes to the movie and its plot.

Now there may not be too many characters in this that you may find redeemable (or completely likeable) ... but there are various degrees of people just being who they are - they can't help it. That doesn't mean they deserve ... certain things happening to them.

This movie is also the first feature length movie by the director ... and while I understand if you are not sold immediately ... stick with it. Yes the first part of the movie may feel weird and detached ... but it's nothing of those things, once you see the full picture (no pun intended).

Now I dug the first part, even as a standalone. I wouldn't have gone full points though just for that - it is for the whole movie, how it connects everything and how this pays the best kind of homage to QT and movies that are weird and f'd up. There are a lot of references to QT - one scene puts a twist on the tipping dialog from Reservoir Dogs - but it is not just there to serve film fans (fanatics?) like myself ... it is part of the story.

The actors are also amazing. The one guy who connects kind of everybody ... his character is horrible. Sweetest person when you meet him (he was at the world premiere of the movie in London). On the other hand maybe he is horrible and only acted nicely? Just kidding - all do a great job and they have an amazing script to work with too.

This also looks amazing - while technology has evolved, that doesn't mean one can't acknowledge good lighting, shooting style and editing. All included - which makes the finale of the movie so much greater. I called it Nerdgasm and the director seemed to like my description (great Dude).

I was asked by Frightfest tv (the Festival channel) what my favorite movie of the Festival is ... I think I have answered this. I liked other movies too and I always appreciate people coming and showing their work (no matter what we think when watching something, it is their creation, always try to be as respectful as possible) ... even better when I can cherish something as much as I did this. And I was not alone with my opinion for sure! This will make waves - I did not discover this, but I ain't afraid to scream this on the top of my lungs: go watch this! Wherever it plays!

Sets the standard for AI movies

My favourite movie of the Frightfest weekend. I went in with high expectations and they were met and then some.

A perfect movie to watch with a crowd of people at a festival, great bloody gore effects and some funny moments that had the room laughing. A movie that easily could have fallen into the mass pile of AI films that we will be seeing over the next few years but it has positioned itself right at the very top.

The movie certainly leans into the Tarantino style but doesn't overstep form homage to outright copycat.
