A Gaga-esque Experience

I enjoyed this concert film immensely. While I can say the tour is minute compared to her previous efforts, Gaga has grown as a person, both musically and personally, and this tour represented that growth. From the stage to costumes, it's manifested. I noticed this concert film is not as refined as The Monster Ball but I commend Gaga for handling most of the editing and production, I enjoyed the effects even tho some shots made me quite dizzy watching them. Watching this concert special reminded me why I love Gaga, she always gives her best each and every performance. It's a shame she couldn't do more than 20 dates but hoping to see her in the next tour. I love you, Gaga!

I was blown away she is so much better than Taylor Swift as a performer and a person.

Concert movies are a common way for artists to monetize events, but the quality of the music and the live performance show are crucial factors in making an exceptional concert film. Lady Gaga's Chromatica Ball, filmed live at Dodgers Stadium in California with over 52,000 monsters in attendance, represents multiple eras of her music in a visually striking love letter to her extensive catalogue. The film features seamless editing, trippy visuals, projection, strobing lights, flashy pyrotechnics, and intricate dance moves, making it one of Gaga's best ever performances. The concert splits into four distinct acts, topped off by a jaw-dropping finale. While some staples may be absent, Chromatica Ball gets an awful lot right about what a dream Gaga setlist would be, including some deeper cuts. The full catwalk, constantly changing set, and multiple costume changes add an extra burst of pizazz. Bizarre interludes for Chromatica carry us over into different elements of the show, with visuals onscreen melding with the images, such as effects during "Telephone." Gaga's flawless vocals are paired with masterful stage design, and the stage itself is a constantly moving tapestry of beauty. Big, booming instrumentals each have their moment to shine, with "Babylon" serving as an iconic, gold-tinged highlight. In summary, Lady Gaga's Chromatica Ball is an epic concert that showcases her diverse musical eras and the power of her live performance show. Fans can now enjoy a front row ticket to her most ambitious show yet, thanks to Gaga herself. Gaga's variety show, Gaga Chromatica Ball, is a captivating performance that showcases her greatest hits. She effortlessly transitions from high-energy fun to inspirational themes, and her piano performances are particularly impressive. Gaga's ability to incorporate her true feelings without making them into a pep talk is evident, as she encourages the audience to celebrate their pride and makes "Born This Way" a major part of the show. Her personality is filtered through every frame, creating a deeply touching portrait of Mother Monster without requiring talking head interviews. The show falls within the realm of a concert movie, leaving viewers feeling as if they were in the room with the thousands of other Monsters. While it is unclear how strongly people will connect to this, those with a casual interest in Gaga's sound or persona are likely to be watching. A concert movie is about giving back to the warm, accepting masses that have loved Gaga since the beginning. The show leaves a lasting impression on the audience, whether they are wiping away tears from emotional ballads or singing along to the lyrics from the comfort of their living room.

A Great Concert With Terrible Video Editing

I agree with this part of the phaseadm review: A concert full of great music, dance, amazing costumes and scenography... plus the voice of Lady Gaga, who is brilliant live.

The problem is the unwatchable hyperactive camerawork and editing that stays too close and constantly changes every second or two. For the dancing, I want to see most of the dancers together instead of cuts between random dancers from random angles. I would like to more of the entire stage that the stadium audience sees. When Gaga is singing, I want to see more of Gaga, similar to what the audience is seeing on the big screens on the sides of the stage.

Been waiting for this - SO WORTH IT!

I've been looking forward to this since it was announced by Gaga herself, as I was only able to see The Monster Ball Tour and artRAVE as concert specials, Chromatica is one of my favourite album of hers

The Video: Let's talk technical aspects, the camera switching in sequences feel a bit too fast at times, but then again, which feature doesn't have that nowadays?, it's like watching a Guy Ritchie film, sometimes the overlay of the interludes especially when they have flash imagery can be a bit dizzying (People with photosensitive epilepsy may want to take caution), but for me it was okay and still brought on a lovely experience, The VFX used in certain sequences such as "Alice" and the "Tamara" interlude made me think there was a issue with the video until you realize it was intentional, in terms of the camera's themselves, I noticed some of the video feed looks like a cellphone recording using a high ISO, which was a nice touch as it breaks boundaries especially to be known as a 'film',

The Sound: Don't really have any complaints there as I played this back on a JBL Bar 5.1 which made the experience quite lovely for me at home, I know the film contains an ATMOS track and I wish to watch it all over again when I have an ATMOS system, can't wait for that!.

The Lady of the moment: Lady Gaga stands out with her stage presence, and she makes it known that (as previously stated) "I'm not going to lip-sync my way through an HBO special" and boy she doesn't! And she has a damn fantastic voice to go with it, I could not keep my eyes off her during her performances which actually made me wish I was there in person! But hey I'll get to watch this over and over!.

The stage: Given from her previous tours where her stages were a sight to behold, the Chromatica stage is presented in all it's simplicity along with the amazing lighting colours as it helps us focuses on what we're watching, and that's Lady Gaga!

The Interludes: This is a first on her concert specials as The Monster Ball Tour only showed the Paws Up interlude and part of the Tornado interlude (Really wished they kept all the interludes for that, would have loved to see the Manifesto film in the special), back to Chromatica Ball, all interludes are kept intact, and they seem to take on an other worldly form, one interlude that stood out for me was the "Sonnet" interlude and I found myself putting this twice on my WhatsApp status in both word and video form.

Overall View: It was definitely worth the wait and I'm so glad Mother Monster has blessed us with this concert film especially for the fact it released 1 day after my birthday, The show was really amazing and kept my glued to my couch until it was over, and as I am writing this review, I'm watching the concert again, and I must say, the surprise at the end of the show was definitely a nice touch (When you see it...) and tells me there is more great things to come!

SPECTACULAR

One of the best concert documentaries to come out this year, this was such a treat for Gaga fans and those starting to love her and her music including myself. The concert and the entire film were divided into several parts of "acts" which was, first of all, just as interesting and mind-blowing than the other ones. Filled with such disco-ready and electronic-blasting performances, each number was reflective of Lady Gaga's musical versatility that encompasses pop, EDM and musical. For those just starting to deep-dive into her entire discography, I found it revealing and at the same time frustrating to have found her songs just concert-ready and filmed with such excellence and impact as was embodied in this concert film.

Gaga's Chromatica Ball Concert: A Flawless, Extravagant Experience That You Can Watch Repeatedly

The Chromatica Ball concert is an extraordinary spectacle that captivates the audience from start to finish. The seamless arrangement of songs in the setlist keeps the energy alive and engaging, eliminating any sense of monotony. The production features breathtaking visuals, including stunning 3D backdrop graphics for each song, showcasing a level of artistry that is simply mesmerizing. Lady Gaga's live vocals highlight her impeccable talent in the global music industry, proving why she is a force to be reckoned with.

The fashion showcased throughout the concert is equally impressive, reflecting her status as a fashion icon. Each outfit is carefully curated, adding to the overall aesthetic and allure of the performance.

I've watched this concert over ten times, and I find it never gets boring. It's a thrilling experience that encompasses every emotion, leaving fans with a renewed love for Lady Gaga, unconditionally. A good concert for entertainment

Not as good as I thought that it was going to be, really enjoyed it though.

Turning up emotional faders Keep repeating self-hating phrases I have heard enough of these voices Almost like I have no choice This is biological stasis My mood's shifting to manic places Wish I laughed and kept the good friendships Watch life, here I go again

Keep my dolls inside diamond boxes Save them 'til I know I'm gon' drop this front I've built around me, oasis Paradise is in my hand Holding on so tight to this status It's not real but I'll try to grab it Keep myself in beautiful places Paradise is in my hands 💗

A Dazzling Journey into Gaga's Universe

Lady Gaga's "Gaga Chromatica Ball" concert special was a captivating odyssey through her imaginative universe, merging powerful performances with breathtaking visuals. As the first notes of "Bad Romance" reverberated through the venue, it became evident that the night would be an unforgettable experience.

The stage was a marvel of modern design, an amalgamation of futuristic elements and vivid, emotional art. Enormous screens projected a symphony of colors and abstract images, perfectly synchronized with the music's mood. The lighting, a complex dance of beams and hues, alongside stunning pyrotechnics, created an immersive spectacle that pulled the audience into the heart of Chromatica.

Gaga's performance was nothing short of electrifying, her energy palpable and her vocals flawless. The setlist was a carefully curated mix, shifting from the high-octane beats of "Stupid Love" and "911" to the poignant ballads "Angel Down" and "Fun Tonight." Each song was a mini production, complete with intricate choreography and live instrumentation that showcased Gaga's versatility.

Opening the concert with the original version of "Bad Romance" was a stroke of genius, immediately setting the tone for the night. This was followed by a thrilling medley of her biggest hits, including "Just Dance" and "Poker Face," which had the crowd on their feet, dancing and singing along with every word. The seamless blend of classic and contemporary tracks struck a perfect balance, appealing to both long-time fans and newcomers.

In true Gaga fashion, her wardrobe was nothing less than spectacular. Each costume change was a theatrical moment, with designs ranging from avant-garde armor to ethereal gowns. These outfits were more than mere clothing; they were extensions of the narrative, enhancing the storytelling and adding depth to the performance.

What made this concert special were the moments of genuine connection between Gaga and her fans. Between songs, she paused to share personal anecdotes and messages of hope, resilience, and self-love. These heartfelt interludes transformed the concert into an intimate dialogue, making every attendee feel seen and appreciated.

"Gaga Chromatica Ball" transcended the typical concert experience, offering a blend of music, visual art, and personal connection that was both exhilarating and deeply moving. Lady Gaga's ability to combine these elements into a cohesive and impactful show is a testament to her artistry and her deep connection with her audience. For those lucky enough to witness it, this concert was a magical journey into the world of one of music's most innovative artists.

Gaga concert film

It's 2022. Lady Gaga is performing on The Chromatica Ball concert tour in Dodger Stadium in L. A. The tour was delayed due to COVID. By 2022, everybody was glad to be out without a mask. This is strictly a concert film. Lady Gaga is credited for everything. Most importantly, she's credited as director. Quite frankly, she should consider recruiting someone more skilled and experienced. This HBO special is fine. There is no behind the scenes footage or anything interesting outside of the concert.

The concert itself starts with Bad Romance and Gaga encased in an Autobot suit. One is enticed by her songs and her outfits. The problem with the first outfit is that it immobilizes her. There is a turn table but that's it. She needs more kinetic energy. She's not known for kinetic dancing. So it would be better to add theatrics. If she's immobilized, a bunch of hot shirtless men in hardhats should be ripping away the Autobot suit piece by piece. They could use heavy tools and sparks can fly. It's all for the drama. At least, it wouldn't be stationary with only the dancers to distract. All in all, this is a concert film, no more, no less. It's heaven for any Gaga fanatic.

Great concert but....

This is a great and unique concert by the queen of pop. A concert full of great music, dance, amazing costumes and scenography... plus the voice of Lady Gaga, who is brilliant live. Unfortunately, from a technical point of view, the entire concert was poorly recorded. The camera work is poor, sometimes chaotic, but the worst part is unfortunately the soundtrack. Maybe if you have an ordinary soundbar and a subwoofer at home, you will have fun, but if you are counting on a unique experience on your 5.1 / 7.1 / atmos home theater, you will be disappointed. There is no bass, there is no dynamics... it's a pity!

Why I turned it off in 10 minutes

Why I turned it off in ten minutes. There are two problems with this movie and they are significant. First of all: in the first 10 minutes, she yells "put your arms up, put your hands in the air." At least a dozen times. Over and over and over.

If you have to tell people to do that every 40 seconds, then your performance is completely failing. If you can't make them organically put their hands in the air, that's a huge problem with the performance and production. And worse, it completely fails on a television screen at home. You can't really TELL people to have a great time at your concert over and over. Either you make it happen or you don't.

Smaller problem was that for the first 10 minutes we barely even see gaga. She's in some Fritz Lang Metropolis/Hungarian brutalist sculptural prison and we can't even see her. You needed to open with behind the scenes footage of her up close, make it personal, give the home viewer bonus behind the scenes access. THEN we would be ok waiting a while to really see her again.

So, may have been a good concert, but as a film it completely fails.

Playing candy crush was more inspiring

She has morphed into this persona that's so uncharismatic, unlikable. The fun Gaga used to be better. The dance moves are the same. Eh. You know it's a crap concert, when you are playing candy crush through most of it.

Gaga first concert was pretty amazing. She's sold out. Every concert has the same mummy moves. Nothing is exciting. Nothing breaks boundaries. Never did I think I would say Gaga just does things to get shock value to stay relevant. She just doesn't inspire anymore.

Granted she does have some pretty impressive pop tunes, but it's the character itself has become unlikable and boring.
