A mere glance at this movie's cover and I figured that this was most likely going to be a movie from Maverick Entertainment. Lo and behold, just as that ethereal horse came galloping across the screen, it was indeed a Maverick Entertainment movie. I have watched far too many of their questionable movies, I suppose, since I can spot them on the cover alone.
And with it being a movie from Maverick Entertainment, I have to say that I harbored zero expectations to the movie. But since it was a movie that I had neither heard about or seen before, of course I opted to give the movie a fair chance, on the off-chance that Maverick Entertainment upped their game.
Writer and director Amiri Koronz Thompson put together a fair enough script and storyline. Sure, this wasn't really my cup of tea, but it wasn't as bad as much of the stuff that Maverick Entertainment has been spewing out.
The dialogue in the movie was pretty stereotypical, and I have to say that it was definitely not helping promoting the narrative of the movie.
The only familiar face on the cast list was Amiri Koronz Thompson, whom also wrote and directed the movie. Yeah, I have indeed watched far too many movies from Maverick Entertainment, since I was familiar with him. The acting performances were, for the most parts, actually fair.
Visually, then I cannot fathom why they opted to layer the movie with a gritty layer, making it look like a weathered and old movie reel. It just didn't make any sense, especially when taking the storyline and script into consideration.
Just shortly after 19 minutes into the movie, there is someone getting shot at close blank range. That has to be the worst gun shot effect I've ever seen in a movie, and I've seen a lot of questionable movies over the years, but that one was hands down the worst and most laughable ever.
"Bunny and Clive" is actually not a bad movie from Maverick Entertainment, but it was still far from being an impressive or overly entertaining movie.
My rating of "Bunny & Clive" lands on a four out of ten stars.
