Commendable in it's efforts to lighten and heighten the mood, this campy and simple movie uses good humorous dialogue through fun characters, with some later deeper scenarios mixed in.

Not really a horror, certainly nothing like a slasher, Midnight Man's plusses come from the left of centre approach, steering away from the formulaic methods of the genre. I liked how the two main characters didn't say what we'd expect to hear, instead coming out with funny and quirky comments that surprised and provided a different look at how this movie probably would have played out like many times before.

When the mysterious debt collector turns up the story becomes more involved and mysterious and still keeps it's fun side, which really helps because the movie never takes itself too seriously. I found it to be an interesting and mostly well made story that manages to successfully bring its objectives forth, even though it's a small cast and simple setting.
