Firstly, the technicals are great. Dolby vision truly makes you feel like you are actually there.

But this is more like a youtube vlog, complete with obnoxiously close shots of faces and lots of selfie cam, rather than a nature documentary. I'd guess there's less than 2% of actual animal footage. And the footage of animals are all unfortunately smudgy trap cam quality.

I was expecting David Attenborough but with modern equipment, but I guess this is more of a documentary of a bunch of dudes setting up trap cams. It's like a full length version of the "making of" videos of David Attenborough's documentaries.

They do bring some attention to the problems these animals are facing, and the somewhat rare landscape shots are nice to watch, so I rate it 3 stars.

Overall I don't recommend this to nature lovers. I guess the vlog style of this is meant to appeal people who celebrity worship the presenters, but I don't to enjoy this unfortunately.

Am family friend of the burleys, so was quite strange to see Dec on the tv but felt like I was along for the ride. Thoroughly enjoyed watching his antics but also seeing the skilled side. His knowledge and capability are clearly there, and it helped shed light on the many difficulties creatures face not only through humanities interference but also just the difficulties they have overall.

Was fascinating to see the different places visited, the challenges overcome, the poop water avoided.

Very much want to see more, a season 2 (and beyond) would be lovely.

I've watched other documentaries with @vianetDjenguet what I love about this one is you truly get to see what goes into trying to capture illusive wildlife on camera. Watch in wonder. Thank you for bringing me into a part of the planet I would never be able to visit. Worth your time. The narrative and camera work is phenomenal.

Some amazing insights into some unbelievable habitats. This series shines a light on the challenge facing some of the rarest animals on the planet, without the stuffy feel that you sometimes get with traditional wildlife documentaries.

Some hard hitting images of real world conservation challenges that really highlights the need to protect these habitats from poaching and fragmentation.

The cast seem to have a genuine camaraderie and piss taking spirit that makes this a really fun show to watch. A great mix of characters that I haven't seen in other similar shows before.

Hopefully this is the start of a new branch of wildlife media! Very much recommend!

Just finished watching 'the wild ones'

I'm not one to really leave reviews but felt this was so deserving of one.

Honestly don't listen to the negative reviews. This is clearly a journey of near impossible tasks, showing the commitment of a talented group of people working together, with amazing results shown towards the end of each episode.

The people associated with this series are the ones who truly make a difference.

Fantastic series.....Real, raw, really felt the emotion and the passion. True to life and not fake and rehearsed. The guys really compliment each other.

Really hope there's more to come.......season 2?
