Avis à la une
Everyone was a fool in this movie.
Highly unrealistically dramatic. Everyone acting a fool including the "godly" folks encouraging the daughter to date, flirt, whatever while still married.
What a shiz show. I got so irritated with the silly script had to stop 2/3 of the way through.
Definitely not even close to Tyler Perry's other movies. Some better than others but all have been watchable for me.
Started out like a Jerry Springer episode. Was way overly acted to the point where you couldn't take it seriously. I figured I could at least enjoy the humor. Nope.
It got too annoying. Like those horror movie commercials where dumb victims hide amidst all the deadly weapons that can kill them. Just no.

It's almost so bad it's good. Believe me, even the opening 5 minutes will give you an idea of the hilariously bad the direction of the movie is going. I'll go ahead and call it the "Church" scene. Overacting, bad acting and unusual acting methods from vetted actors. I know Tyler Perry movies... can produce some inconsistent results and performances. The over acting feels like theater, and its script is unrealistic and not relatable. The amount of swearing, screaming and random outbursts of verbal conflicts is every 5 minutes in this movie. But the camera work is definitely is insanely good. So there's that. That's why I have it a '2' and not '1'.
Someone should fire the people at Amazon Prome who suggest shows and movies after enticing me to watch this debacle.
I'm not really sure what the point of this movie is, or is it was supposed to have a point at all. Mediocre acting, bland, predictable dialogue. Uninspired plot. Unsympathetic characters. Especially unsympathetic female lead who seems to not have a brain in her head until she's pushing 40 but were then supposed to be rooting for her?
I really don't know what else to say. I have it three stars because the production quality was pretty good. I was 36 minutes into the movie before I was even marginally interested in a single plot thread - and then only because I was curious what stupid thing would come up next.

I am convinced Tyler Perry absolutely hates his people and Black women. His writing depicts Black people in the worst light and makes a mockery of our culture while enforcing negative stereotypes for the world to laugh at or along with him. This movie was a waste of time and as much as I want to see the actors and Tyler Perry succeed, this was mediocre writing, acting and directing at best. Megan Goode and Debbie Morgan were the highlights (I fell in love with the both of them in Eve's Bayou) and still could not save the movie from his terrible writing. This movie is best described as a mix of Sistas meets Real Housewives of Atlanta which both are garbage.
Well that escalated quickly!!!
Tyler Perry does it again! As usual Tyler continues to be a part of black stereotypes and bad behaviour crew. Perfect man protecting the poor abused woman against the real bad man (not just flawed). It always has to be some over the top nonsense.
The actors always turn into these caricatures of themselves. Megan somehow turned into a female Rambo. Her best friend turns into the ghetto friend who keeps it real. And of course Corey is the angry, abusive black man. No need to address his generational trauma because that doesn't create enough drama. His acting in this is something to be desired in my opinion....
Good Lord, some originality would really be great after all these years but I guess TP writes what people want to watch.
