Avis à la une
Living in an Independent India, not being able to understand how certain castes live, this movie is an eye opener and, a true form of art executed by John Abraham and the team. I thank the entire team on working on such a brilliant Indian movie after ages.
Vedha is a cinematic triumph that captivates with its intense storytelling, stunning visuals, and powerful performances. Set against a rich cultural backdrop, the film explores deep themes of love, loss, and redemption. The screenplay is tight, keeping the audience engaged from start to finish, and the pacing ensures that there's never a dull moment.
The lead actor delivers a stellar performance, bringing emotional depth to the character of Vedha. The supporting cast also shines, adding layers of complexity to the narrative. The film's direction is masterful, with each scene meticulously crafted to evoke the right emotions. The cinematography is breathtaking, capturing the beauty of the film's setting and enhancing the overall experience.
The music score complements the film perfectly, resonating with the tone and elevating key moments. The film also excels in its technical aspects, with impressive production design, costume design, and visual effects that immerse the viewer in the world of Vedha.
Vedha is a must-watch for anyone who appreciates quality cinema. It's a film that will stay with you long after the credits roll, leaving you with plenty to ponder and appreciate. Highly recommended!

John Abraham is massively underrated! The movie is really good. It's always pleasant to see good action movies made in India and Vedaa (2024) is one of them.
The film has a good blend of different genres... Mainly and namely Drama, Thriller and ofcourse Action! The story too is on an important topic which though many of us in the city may not be able to relate to completely but I won't be surprised if it still is very much a reality in certain parts of our land and those who have suffered from it will appreciate this movie even more.
Though at times the plot can seem predictable, the movie is never boring and the entire team led by John Abraham as the lead hold the attention of the audience very well.
I was disappointed that there weren't more people in the theatre to watch this movie. Such films need to be promoted. The Indian film industry has a lot of potential and until good content is appreciated and most importantly correctly, our industry won't be able to grow well.
Regarding John Abraham I also watched another movie of his about two years ago in which he is a super soldier and I liked that too. John is easily atleast one of the best Action Stars not only in Bollywood but pan India. It's surprising to know that such a star didn't even intend to become an actor growing up. Anyway good for him and us too because he has been a part of many good projects.
To conclude I wish the entire team of Vedaa all the best and I hope that along with being a critical success the movie is also a box office hit so that producers in India won't shy away from making good movies no matter who the star is. Once again I'll state that this movie was REALLY GOOD and you need to watch it especially if love Drama/ Action films, because if you don't then you will definitely regret not watching this good an Indian movie in a theatre.

The movie sets out with the intention of being a serious drama, aiming to shed light on issues of class inequality and the struggle to protect the innocent from oppression. It has all the elements of a compelling story that could provoke thought and stir emotions. However, the execution veers drastically off course, transforming what should have been a powerful narrative into an unintended parody.
From the very beginning, the film's dialogue and direction betray its dramatic intentions. The focus quickly shifts to showcasing the hero as an almost cartoonish figure, capable of dodging hundreds of bullets with ease. This portrayal not only strains credibility but also trivializes the very issues the movie is supposed to highlight. Instead of a tense, realistic exploration of social injustice, we are presented with a protagonist who seems invincible to the point of absurdity.
As a result, the film's initial promise is lost, and what could have been a meaningful commentary on class struggles turns into a spectacle of exaggerated heroics. The serious themes are overshadowed by the outlandish action sequences, and the film ultimately fails to resonate on the emotional or intellectual levels it aspired to. In the end, it's hard to take the movie seriously, as it devolves from a potentially impactful drama into something more akin to a farcical action flick.

I like to watch John's action movies. He his best at doing actions if we don't talk about Tiger and Vidyut, the Martial artists. But Nikhil Advani also disappointed. John Abraham seems having less expressions in many scenes. Actually John has limited acting range. Only Yash Chopra could make John act like a pro in his movies like Dhoom, Newyork, Pathaan etc. But in nearly all movies his acting and dialogue delivery suck! But in some scenes his acting seems very subtle. But definitely his acting range is limited. (Though better than some over actors like Varun Dhawan).
Now Nikhil Advani again is culprit. Story was very over the top! If action was meant to be over the top it was fine but story was also very hard to digest. In a scene.. the goons attack John and John gets unconscious. They catch John and Sharvari that is OK. But they leave her father and uncle? 😅. What was that? In many scenes dialogues and monologues seem very outdated and boring. Nikhil Advani is the one who made D- Day and Batla House.. both the amazing movies. But this time he disappointed Ashish Vidyarthi was wasted in the movie. He did nothing in the movie. Any other actor could have given that casual performance.
Now coming to the positive points.. John as an action hero was very good. He seems strong and actions really suits him. Abhishek Banerjee was at his best. He did more than what I expected. Abhishek's acting uplifted the whole movie. Now the strongest point was Sharvari's acting. In every scene... she meant business! She was fabulous. After so many years I watched a truly commendable acting. In every situation she acted like a very talented actor. Want to watch more of her works in future.
Movie is somewhat lengthy but you don't feel the length because it is definitely engaging. I have highlighted some flaws in it. But this is definitely a one time watch!
All the best to John for his upcoming projects. But this was definitely not among his best works.

*** Vedaa Hindi Movie Review ***
Directed by Nikhil Advani starring John Abraham , Sharvari Abhishek Banerjee in the lead role.
A social message narrated in a forced manner backed by Sharvari' s stellar performance. ⭐ ⭐ Half ⭐
Vedaa talks about a Dalit girl who is being abused by the upper caste & how she reacts & how Abhimanyu played by John plays a crucial role in her life is what the movie talks about.
The 1st half of the movie goes in a slow pace with some situations of atrocities done upon central character & her family whereas the 2nd half accelerates with fights, bullet firing, car chase. Climax could have been made better with logics.
Performance wise, Sharvari's stellar performance could be seen. She was living into the character of Vedaa. Abhishek Banerjee as antagonist. As i watched his performance in Stree 2 and Vedaa a shift of performance could be seen & he perfectly nailed the character in this movie. Nothing unique performance could be seen from John but for such kind of action to pull, he fits the slot.
Talking about the story telling, slow paced story telling could have been trimmed as one point we had been detached from the movie.
Overall a slow narrative thereby a missed opportunity for a success on a long weekend.
