Bollywood has got to stop including songs for the sake of it. The song at the end felt right but every other song felt unnecessary and killed the pace of the movie.
The songs especially with Amay Patnaik and his wife were like someone handed Ajay Devgn a packet of Vimal Pan Masala and he forgot what he was starring in.
Also all this walking towards the camera with intent in every movie is ridiculous by now.
This movie on it's own is not a bad movie but compared to the original it is Chai Kam paani.
Ritesh Deshmukh and the supporting cast was great.
The plot basically is 2 kids arguing about how they outsmarted the other and with each declaration the ridiculousness would increase that much.
Seriously stop padding movie run time with songs. Without the songs the rating would've been better.

The movie relies heavily on sound effects, with barely any dialogue-you could watch it completely muted and still understand everything.
This points to a serious lack of effort from the writers in developing a meaningful script or engaging characters.
The direction is mediocre at best, giving the impression that an Instagram content creator has pieced together random scenes to stretch it into a feature-length film.
There's no sense of cohesion, depth, or artistic vision, making the entire experience feel superficial, lazy, and uninspired.
Even visually, the film fails to leave an impact, relying on flashy transitions rather than solid storytelling or emotional weight.
Waste of time!!

When you walk out of a theatre after watching a film that feels just okay-not bad, but not very good-that's how you'd describe Raid 2. It follows the exact same template as Raid 1, with some extra subplots. Though it's not as entertaining as its predecessor, it does manage to keep you engaged throughout. The screenplay, however, could have been crisper and twistier. The unnecessary songs could have been removed.
Ajay Devgn feels a little off in this one, showing signs of fatigue. Riteish Deshmukh, however, steals the show with his portrayal of Dada Bhai, although his character could have been more menacing. Amit Sial was a delight, bringing the perfect comic balance with his dialogues. Vaani had little to offer. Supriya Pathak and Shruti Pandey provided good support. The rest of the cast was just okay. Overall, the film is just okay. You can watch it, but it doesn't offer anything particularly exciting. A one-time watch.
OVERALL 7/10.

This is second installment of movie series Raid. Through ups and downs the culprit is finally caught.
First half is better than second half. The plot is set. The audience is engaged and what needs to be done before interval is done.
Second half approaches a storyline where Officer played by Ajay has all cards in his favor, such a super mind is hard to digest for me, but then it's just a movie.
Apart from that it's a nice drama that sooths viewing experience. Acting is justified. Songs go well along with the movie.
Final Verdict: I think audience will like it. Watch the trailer and decide for yourself.

It's a good movie with good direction and amazing acting, bgm also created good impact, but still it couldn't create impact like the first part.
It feels quite 'filmy', typical bollywood style.. unnecessarily romantic songs, item track and over the top dramatic scenes, unlike the first part which literally created thrill in the climax, here in the 2nd installment of the movie, pre interval the movie was holding good, but after the interval it feels rushed, all of a sudden things started to going in Ajay's favour.
Though, Ritesh's role was well written and more amazingly performed, he did his best, but it lacks the depth of the character.

Raid 2 is a family entertainer movie. Ajay Devgn is the star of this story but Riteish Deshmukh steals the show with his strong antagonist role.
Ajay Devgn continues his role of IPS Amay Patnaik as the Income Tax Officer and this time his new target came to a white collared minister Dada Bhai played by Riteish Deshmukh.
The movie continues by finding the hidden black wealth keeping by Dada Bhai, with lots of twists and turns.
Riteish has just nailed the role.
Vani Kapoor has beautifully played the role of wife of Amay Patnaik.
Special mention to Amit Sial to play a role to be remembered. Also Brijendra Kala and Yashpal Sharma has played small but impactful roles.
The dance number 'Nasha' performed by Tamannah Bhatia is outstanding.
Overall it's a good watch.

The movie was awesome. Everyone did their job really well, Riteish was the Soul of the movie. But the story did one thing wrong. They made Riteish a Villain not evil . Cause Dadabhai played against Amay Patnaik within the rules , we all know what a politician can do, but Dadabhai played like a Man , he never threatens Amay Patnaik 's family , He didn't hurt him although Amay Patnaik used every cunning way possible , He blackmailed his old friend but it was okay , he took (the spoilers of the films) to his mother who he respects the most. That's why I thought that if the villain didn't bring your family to this war why did the protagonist did? The reason is , crime should never remain unpunished. He didn't care for the world except his mother . That's why when watching the movie many of you will take Dadabhai's side. Though it's not a right thing to do .Again crime is crime and it should be punished.

The story was well written. The actors were great. The starting was slow could have been faster. The ending was good but predictable. The songs were great though. They should have kept the previous main actress as it is a sequel, changing actress was not convenient to me. It had emotional interraction with me. The acting of ritesh and ajay was entertaining to watch. The climax was good. Most of the people will enjoy it. The ending was very good. I enjoyed the good wit in the hotel scene. This is a family film. You can watch it for thrilling experience and a good bollywood film. I enjoyed it and i know you will too.

It is a good bollywood film. Because it has a crisp story with good acting from leads as well as side actors. Plus all have done justice to the story. Only minus point is the 2 songs early on.
Talking about story, there are multiple twist n turns, which make it interesting, never let u sit loose.
Ajay and ritesh deliver their part effectively. Specially ritesh. He is good as villain as always. Saurabh and amit sial has done some good comic part.
Songs are avrg cud have been avoided.
Last few scenes are shot in Ramada luckhnow hotel where my own marriage happnd. It was good to see the helicopter view of the hotel.

In a country where corruption thrives, but in movies one IRS Officer can make india rich.
IT department couldn't find money at Justice Varma's residence in Lutyens Delhi and Ajay Devgan has cleaned a far flung village. WOW!
A country where IRS and administrative officers are known for corruption, the movie shows otherwise. Ritesh Deshmukh being a politician is running his entire empire by himself. In reality, a common man cant even meet a MLA, leave a Cabinet Minister (State).
Initial scene shows that Raja is enjoying. Instead should have shown Judges/IAS/Politician enjoying.
I'm surprised how people have rated this 7*! Deserves 3 at most. But if you are watching it just to pass your time, be my guest.
Hero worshippers would like this movie.

Acting is mid.
Ajay's didn't showed any new expressions he had same expression for the entire movie. Vanni Kapoor didn't felt like a part of movie. Her roles were very random and unnecessary.
Songs were included at unnecessary points.
Story line is plain easy to understand.
Audience will not feel connected during the movie or when the movie is ended. Entire movie was very predictable. 😬
Overall it's a one time watch.
If you have watched raid 1 and you are wishing to watch this one than wait for sometime when it comes out on ott. It's not theatre worth movie. Raid one was better than raid 2.

Just watched the epic journey of A may Patnayak. It is a hilarious movie with good story line. All the actors Ajay, Riteish, Saurabh Shukla, Amit Sial's character define beautifully and they performed beautifully. Supriya Pathak as mother acted very well. New character Geeta is resembles of CID Days. When she broke the door, theater noised. There is lot of twist and turns. As director Rajkumar Gupta has done is job with perfection. Saurabh Shuka character makes lot of fun. If Ileana would Available then it would be better. Vani is ok. Ajay always suited with these story lines and I think Raid 3 is on the line. Go and have a blast guys.

PLOT SUMMARY:
IRS officer Amay Patnaik is being transferred to the land of Dada Manohar Bhai who is an affluential minister. Amay gets a tip of Manohar Bhai's black money information but he but his mission backfires, leading to his suspension. But whether his quench to bring down Manohar evaporates, that is what Raid 2 talks about.
MOVIE ANALYSIS It is a big task for any filmmaker, writer & the production to bring out the best for a movie sequel which had a good will of its prequel & RAID 2 sets out another example that if the script is well made then it adds more goodwill to its prequel.
As it is the second instalment of RAID, this time the world of corruption is large & Amay Patnaik this time needs to sweat out a lot to bring Dada Manohar & behind the bars. Writers Ritesh Shah, Raj Kumar Gupta, Jaideep Yadav, Karan Vyas had brought the best & we could see the best at the 2nd half of this movie. While some narrative turns are predictable, the film's brisk pace and sharp tension keep viewers invested in Amay's crusade against power and privilege.
Performance wise, Ajay Devgn once again delivers a solid and restrained performance as Amay Patnaik, bringing quiet intensity to the role. However, it is Ritesh Deshmukh who steals the spotlight as the formidable antagonist-his performance is both menacing and charismatic, adding significant depth to the film's conflict. Amit Sial reprises his role as Lallan Sudheer with charm and grit, while Saurabh Shukla provides brief but memorable comic relief in a cameo appearance. Unfortunately, the chemistry between Ajay Devgn and Vaani Kapoor feels underwhelming and lacks emotional impact.
Conclusion Raid 2 is a well-executed follow-up that offers enough thrills, strong performances, and a tight narrative to satisfy fans of the original.

Raid 2 tries to follow the strong narrative of the 2018 film but falls short in some areas. Vaani Kapoor's character feels unnecessary and adds no real value. The inclusion of love angles, songs, and an item number stretch the runtime and dilute the film's serious tone. However, whenever the story focuses on the core topic, it becomes gripping and engaging. These moments remind us of what made the first film so impactful, even if the sequel doesn't fully reach that level. It's a decent watch with solid intent but uneven execution.
If you are planning a family time watch it plus a sequel that's.

I remember watching Raid (2018) and it's intensity and tight storytelling. I was excited for the second part but it turned out to be underwhelming for me.
The story was decent and the problem was with it's execution, which made it less intresting; the screenplay was the main villain, it was slow and stretched; the direction was decent and the performances were also decent.
The movie was missing everything that made the first part an interesting thriller drama. The unnecessary songs, dull screenplay and sloppy writing made this an underwhelming sequel.
Overall, it was an underwhelming sequel which failed to match the original by a big margin.

The story is very gripping and has a lot of twists at many moments. There are 2 songs in beginning, which i felt was unnecessary. But as the movie is highly serious with some light jokes the songs are a good distraction.
Ritesh and Ajay's acting is top notch! Some scenes are predictibe, some places the story is skipped. The ending is total surprise, when you think that it's the end but you get to know ohhh it's not the end, it's just a twist! Some characters from previous movie are also included which does give some nostalgia.
Overall it's totally worth watching and as good as first part of Raid.

Ajay Devgn once again proves why he's the master of intense, brooding roles with another powerhouse performance. His commanding screen presence and ability to convey quiet authority make every scene he's in utterly compelling. Riteish Deshmukh delivers a surprisingly effective turn as the antagonist, showcasing impressive range beyond his usual comic roles - their confrontations are among the film's highlights.
The movie starts with tremendous momentum, immediately pulling viewers into its high-stakes world through sharp writing and taut direction. The first half is particularly strong, balancing tense drama with just enough character development to make us invested. While the pacing suffers slightly in the second act with some unnecessary subplots, the film remains engaging throughout.
Though the climax doesn't quite match the brilliance of the setup (some may find it slightly rushed or conventional), the overall experience is thoroughly satisfying. For fans of gritty, performance-driven dramas, this delivers exactly what you want - stellar acting, edge-of-the-seat moments, and enough emotional weight to make the journey worthwhile. While not perfect, it's certainly one of the more memorable Bollywood offerings this year.

"Raid 2" attempts to pick up the ashes of its already dusty predecessor and fling them directly into the audience's eyes. Set in 1989 Rajasthan - or perhaps a student theater production of Rajasthan - the film opens with Officer Patnaik, played by an actor who clearly lost a bet, storming a palace with the charisma of a tax audit. The raid fails instantly, mostly because Patnaik forgets why he's there and spends the rest of the scene whispering about "justice" while accidentally raiding the palace's gift shop.
Following this "immense failure" (as the film's narrator calls it, over the sound of someone weeping in the editing booth), Patnaik abandons law enforcement and, in a jarring tonal shift, becomes a brony. Yes, that kind of brony. He moves into his mother's basement (despite the film never showing a house above it), where he spends his days in a haze of shameful porn, My Little Pony reruns, and whisper-crying into Rainbow Dash pillows.
Somewhere in this emotional junkyard of a plot, he befriends a seagull - a fully CGI monstrosity with the voice of an exhausted call center worker - who visits daily to eat sardines and judge Patnaik's life choices. The seagull, named "Justice" (because of course), is actually the most consistent and believable character in the film.
The rest of Raid 2 is a confusing blur of musical montages about nothing, budget fight scenes choreographed by interns, and a voiceover that openly apologizes midway through: "We didn't think you'd make it this far."
By the time the credits roll - in Comic Sans, no less - the only raid you'll be thinking about is the one you want to launch on the director's house for wasting two hours of your life.

It seems that all the plots he made flopped and the villain did not seem that powerful. The movie in it did not seem that special to me, but the movie was okay!
But there was a problem in this, as the villain was becoming very weak, My character was great but the villain was not of my level. He was acting very weak. In front of the director, the sequences that were coming in the end seemed a bit edited to me, a bit villainous.
And it felt like whatever was shown in the movie was moving very fast. Meaning it didn't feel like we were watching a movie. It was moving so fast. The plot was shifting and I felt that the concept behind it was moving a little ahead.
Meaning, the villain was not able to hide what he had done to hide it. He was not able to do anything properly and it seemed like that. He had very little power. He had the support of other people. I did not enjoy this much this time. I may be so, but I also feel that somewhere this movie is not that special. Red One was better than it should have been, so I would recommend Red One more than this one?

Raj Kumar Gupta's "Raid 2" attempts to pick up the baton from its 2018 predecessor, diving deeper into the murky world of corruption, power, and truth. Anchored once again by Ajay Devgn's steely presence as IRS officer Amay Patnaik, the film offers potent moments of confrontation and integrity, though it often struggles with pacing and emotional connection.
This time, Amay finds himself pitted against a more complex and powerful web of industrialists, bureaucrats, and politicians. The stakes are raised - not just financially, but morally. What begins as a targeted investigation snowballs into a dangerous confrontation with the country's most untouchable elite. Gupta frames this battle not just as a legal mission, but as a war of principles, where every choice tests one's resolve against the convenience of compromise.
Devgn delivers a reliably compelling performance. His Amay is a man of few words and immense conviction. Yet, unlike the first *Raid*, where his character's personal life and moral struggle added emotional gravity, *Raid 2* keeps him emotionally distant - almost too idealistic to feel real. The result is a hero you admire, but never fully understand.
The film builds towards a tense climax where Amay's raid uncovers a massive cache of unaccounted wealth, hidden beneath layers of digital records and political immunity. In a powerful moment of confrontation, he stands face to face with the film's central antagonist - a smooth-talking corporate magnate with deep political ties - and refuses to back down, despite threats, manipulation, and sabotage. It's in this climax that the film briefly touches greatness: Gupta allows the camera to linger on the weight of silence, the crack in arrogance, and the unwavering gaze of justice. The raid isn't just a legal act - it becomes a symbolic cleansing, a moral reckoning.
The impact of this climactic sequence is profound. It serves as a culmination of the slow-burning tension and provides a sense of cathartic release. The tension isn't built on action but on principle - a refreshing change from commercial norms. Amay doesn't punch his way to victory; he audits his way into history. This moment also reaffirms the central message: integrity, though costly, is ultimately triumphant.
Visually, the film remains muted and minimal, mirroring the greyness of bureaucracy and the shadows of corruption. Amit Trivedi's score tries to add energy to the slower sequences, sometimes succeeding, but overreaching. The direction is steady, though not particularly daring, and the screenplay falters in its middle stretch, bogged down by subplots and procedural repetition.
Still, "Raid 2" leaves a lasting impression through its climax - a quiet explosion of truth in a room full of lies. Though not as emotionally layered or tightly constructed as the original, it remains a film of substance.
So, In conclusion, A dignified sequel that rises in its climax, reminding us that in a corrupt world, truth may stagger, but it does not fall.*
