Avis à la une
This was probably the biggest waste of time ever. It didn't make much sense the dialogue was as bland as possible and there is no explanation of what is going on. It feels like there could possibly be an interesting concept here but this is the worst execution they could have done. I get that it is an indie film but it is still God awful by that standard. With other indie films at least there is some value and interesting dialogue occasionally but this has none of it and clearly they had a somewhat good budget because the effects are decent and the props were somewhat decent, but clearly the director doesn't know how to direct, I hope they learn because again it is an interesting concept.
I rarely watch anything outside of mystery/horror and true SciFi. I only watched this because I was intrigued by the idea of a teleporting alien spike. So for me to come write a review of this movie means this movie had a impact. It honestly really is just a drama, with a little comedy, a little romance, and even less SciFi. But the ending point of it was sooo good. The leads are okay, not fantastic, and there was an awkwardness that I don't feel was intentional, it kinda felt like young acting jitters. Nothing spectacular about the scenery other than the spike. The music was appropriate but nothing great. There was not ONE particular thing that stood out, but when it all came together at the end, I felt content and glad that I watched this movie.
Horridly written garbage. The only thing slightly annoying was the big Giant alien spike that played no role in the movie and had no action or explanation. Everything else in the movie was HIGHLY annoying. From the absolutely juvenile plot of emotional turmoil without any depth or development to the badly cut together cinematography. Just a real waste of the actors time. They did their best with what they were given I guess.

I really don't understand the poor ratings and comments on this film. I think people get a certain idea of the film by reading the synopsis and then are disappointed that the subject doesn't deal explicitly with aliens and the supernatural. I made the same mistake, but I have to admit that this film is a little gem ! I was transported and captivated by the actors, who play their roles to perfection. It's funny, touching and intriguing all at once. In short, my film of the year without hesitation ! And I sincerely hope this film wins some awards.
In full honesty, one hour in, and I wasn't sure if this movie was going to really "pay off"; a burden I put on the film, not something promised to me. The characters didn't click with me immediately, no matter how hard I tried. Not to say the performances were bad, Ashley Burch is a stand out for sure, but the tone felt a little disjointed/inconsistence to me. My mind was changed during the climax of the film. The last 20 minutes of succinct story telling, beautiful cinematography and clever use of special FX ties everything together beautifully. I was crying, smiling and laughing by the end of the journey. As the credits rolled I felt like I had watch two people grow, change, and mature together; An absolute joy of a film! I want more Sci-Fi RomComs from Matt and Freddy; please and thank you!
P. S. Composer Maxton Waller's music throughout the film was absolutely incredible; very reminiscent of Shane Curruth's work in Upstream Color. Not similar in tone per se, but in his ability to match each "short" musical piece and interlude with the scene presented on screen. The backing track was always so expressive and perfectly emblematic of the emotions depicted. A+!
