Generally am pretty lazy to write feedbacks/ reviews but when I saw folks rating this series as low as 1 felt its unfair for the viewers who deserves to watch this intriguing and touching human drama of realistic emotions and suspense. Pls note you will not be able to predict the outcome and mystery until last few mins so pls watch it. Agree it slow at times and not fancy and nonsense like Abbas Mastan movies but who cares when you get to see great acting skills and an original writing. Very tight direction great dialogues and camerawork. This work is far better than recent pathetic movies getting aired with big names like Khans and Kapoors. Thank GOD we have OTT contents for viewers like us. Well done Netflix. I could have rated 8/ 9 but coz of its slow running pace will stick to 7.

Loved it, yes I agree that it is a slow burn content, but what else you expect from suspense based crime thriller??? Those who are complaining I think they do not have ever watch mindhunter..now coming to the content, starting episodes were very engaging and I liked the subtle comedy between the characters..mid episodes I did find were bit slow might be due to lack of much twist or hooking point towards the end..I did find kidnapping segment useless..and best part about the series is how it ends..climax is ok, it won't disappoint you much.. there is a good resolve for each character at the end..which makes you feel good.

Kohrra blew my breath away. Still thinking of the actors and the story and the setting and everything in the middle. Suvinder Vicky and Barun Sobti have delivered performances of their lifetime in Kohrra.
The sheer mental agony that a cop goes through in solving a complex murder case while dealing with his own personal demons has been shown in a raw and emotionally charged manner - you can't help but want to feel protective about him and root for him till the end.
The portrayal of Punjab's dark underbelly is eerily real - the twists, the messed up romance, the dark humour keep you gripped till the very end.

For the past couple of days, this series has been cropping up everywhere on social media. Critics were showering love on the show and condemning Netflix for not making adequate efforts to promote their newly released content. And this slew of discourses eventually led me to the series.
Now that I have completed all the episodes, I would beg to differ with the pundits; Netflix has had done the right thing not to market it because it does not deserve the attention it's getting. I'm not saying it was terrible; it was decent at best. But also, it was uninspiring and shockingly uneventful from a writing standpoint. Albeit, they have tried to deal with half a dozen subjects.
While I appreciate their heartiest exertions to initiate relevant dialogues on several issues pertinent to our modern-day society and its people, unfortunately, none of those notions materialised to their fullest extent, all thanks to sluggish screenwriting that had elongated the course of events for no apparent justifications.
Thankfully, it didn't mar the investigative procedures, which did have a fitting resolution in the concluding moments. I wish the writing here were tighter and more proficient in conveying the messages they wanted to convey!

Don't go on the negative reviews. The show starts off very mysterious & takes quite long to build up background character.
Plot lines are slowly slipped in which makes it even more nail biting.
The twists are quite good. You'd anticipate 1 thing, but something else only comes up.
The acting & background drama is also worth it. Throws a lot of light on the functionality of characters.
Cinematography & directing is also very dramatic. Creates a lot of suspence.
Episode intos throw a bit of light on background of the main character, highlighting his own characteristics.
Very well written. Acting is also amazing. Worth a watch!

Series starts like a crime thriller, turns to crime drama and by the climax into social commentary.
Positives: Good performances by everyone. No one stands out in particular.
Negatives Lazy writing. Throughout the series it is clearly visible its a half hearted effort by director/ writer.
CCTV capturing exact moment of bus hitting the car.
Getting saliva sample from a truck hit dead body which has been in a water well for over 2 weeks. Just few examples showing that no efforts were made to close out the story.
Overall no. Of episodes could have been shorter. Seems dragged out just for the sake of it. There was absolutely no need for the cop to be kidnapped in climax (clearly done for highlighting barun sobti's character ). Like I said, just a lazy half hearted social commentary.

This is probably the third Indian series I have watched. All the ones I have watched have been of high quality. This series continued that strong streak. The series was multi-leveled and in a good way raw. The characters were believable and the actors were good. The series was somewhat emotionally cruel, but was ultimately warm at its core. I also appreciated the fact that there were only six episodes. This was quite enough to create depth, atmosphere, flow and still be slow burnish. I don't know, but this little bit reminded me of True Detective and I cannot quite point on why. It is also interesting to follow the cultural differences.

This TV series from the Punjab starts off as a murder mystery. However, as the series progresses, the story adds a myriad of additional plots, some of which have nothing to do with the main theme. The backstory for each character seems totally unrelated at times, and in many instances meander aimlessly, actually preventing any linkages between the various subplots and the main theme. It starts off as a murder mystery but soon becomes just a huge soap opera. The ending is very bizarre, and while it explains the murder, does little to explain why so many needless subplots were included in the series. Maybe there were multiple writers involved and each one wanted their ideas to be included, no matter if they were relevant to the main theme. Ended up as just a confused mess!
Kohraa is basically a investigation thriller that take you on a journey that unravels several brutal and dark aspects of families and relationships.
First, the pace ! I had a absolutely no problem with the pace. These series are made to move slowly and if one can't consume such slow burns should not watch and review them. The conversations and developments kept me hooked to the series despite its slow pace. What further kept me hooked was Barun Sobti's serious yet sometimes spot on humorous dialogues that come so naturally.
Second, this series is way more than an investigation. It takes us through the dark secrets of families and relationships. How jealousy starts to affect one person, how father's can become so possessive of their daughters that they don't care about their happiness but only want what her to do what they wish because they feel it's good for their daughters. We also get to see the drug condition in Punjab that comes across the investigation path rather than just showing it separately and giving lecture about it which was good. And lastly , nothing new, the acceptance of homophobia in Indian families that still remains a huge problem.
Third, the portrayal of Punjab is raw. You get to see what Punjab is exactly and not like how films show like people doing Bhangra everywhere or showing Punjabi families as typical cliched types . The series shows the rusty lanes of Punjab, the proper way in which they talk etc. There isn't much use of bgm so the series stays raw.
The dialogues of this film are close to realistic with no nonsense being shown. The climax is a shocker although many might predict it .
Everyone has done a terrific job in this series.
Overall, a great watch. If you love slow moving series that are gritty and real, this ones for you .

I've seen my share of thriller shows and believe me when I say this is one of the best murder mysteries I've ever seen. The 2 lead police detectives were absolutely amazing.. especially the senior actor.. i loved the whole Punjabi element.. loved the whole police work.. for the first time ever there were no loose ends and all the questions were answered..
till the very last episode I was confused as to who would have done it so yes it will keep you on your seat till the very end.. the casting was perfect. Started this show at 10 pm and couldn't go to sleep without finishing it off so yes I'm running on just 5 hours of sleep today but it was worth it haha.

Am I the only one who was confused 50% of the time as to who was who and who all these random new characters were? It felt like they'd start talking about a character as if we knew them for half an episode before we found out who they actually were. I couldn't keep up sometimes.
Apart from that the acting was so well done. None of the characters were truly good people and were flawed. The plot was gripping and had me wanting to know who the killer was and trying to guess along the way.
I don't know much about this culture but it was very interesting to see how the police system works there as well as arranged marriages and relationships.

The series is well-directed and features strong performances, particularly by Suvinder Vicky and Barun Sobti. However, it falls into predictability, leading to a lackluster finale. Despite this, the performances keep you engaged, and the series avoids becoming boring.
Visually, the series is impressive, with captivating cinematography that immerses viewers in its world. Vicky and Sobti deliver noteworthy performances, showcasing their talent and leaving a lasting impact on the audience.
The screenplay initially captures attention with its twists and turns, but as the series progresses, the plot becomes predictable, diminishing the element of surprise. The finale is disappointing, failing to deliver a satisfying conclusion.
While the series may not be a must-watch, it still offers entertainment value. The strong performances and direction ensure that it remains engaging throughout, even though it falls short in certain aspects. Overall, it is an enjoyable watch, particularly for fans of the lead actors.

1. To those who are giving 1/10 rating. I am sorry to say these people lack patience to watch a detailed cinema. These people need to watch movies like mission impossible all fake scenarios no logic behind. Or fast and furious which has no sense.
2. After a very long time I saw an Indian series which has zero stupidity. All logical.
Great acting Great direction Cast is also very good.
3. Great story.
A nice blend of murder mystery with personal life of the characters, its hard to mix these. But director / writer and actors did it. Love is the key is the message given to society.
I wish very best.

A police coercion encyclopedia as a mean of obtaining confessions or statements. A horror tale in an falling apart environment
The script is somehow entertaining, but some characters appear suddenly without a clear link with the rest of the main ones.
The story goes on with dramatic scenes. Misogyny and slaps mixed with tea and turbans are all around the episodes. The chief policeman is full of controversy.
A glimpse into Indian being and their houses, families, customs, way of life, is possible.
In all this mixture of stuff the story goes on like a Bollywood thriller. Fine to spend some time watching tv.

An otherwise good production spoilt by the over violent police.
The police would always hit a suspect during questioning in every scene, violating a suspects human rights.
It put me off finishing this production.
Is police brutality normal in India?
Why is the show getting such high ratings despite the police brutality?
I don't understand why the producers would glorify this in this mini series.
Why is Netflix casting such a show that normalizes such violation of human rights?
Any how the story line was good, acting was good but the violence from the law enforcement has put me off from finishing the series.

I know I'm late to the party but that cannot stop me from raving about Kohrra.
A slow burn murder mystery that keeps you hooked thanks to the brilliant execution and terrific performances.
Shot in the real locations there is not a single sequence that seemed out of place. There are no actors here but characters playing their parts to perfection.
It is easily one of the finest shows in Indian web space. Content like this is worth a strong recommendation and goes on to show that we do not have any dearth of good stories.
A huge shout out to the director Randeep Jha and the entire team!
Nearly FLAWLESS!!
UNMISSABLE for cinephiles.
PS: Watch it in its original language to get the real flavour of Punjab.

This has to be one of the most brilliant Indian series ever crafted. A gritty, noir masterpiece which is scores high in every department- production, direction, acting, script, music... Just superb.
Raw, real and edgy. It will draw you in its world of multilayered characters ... each one as compelling and contradictory as the subplots revealed. Acting of the charismatic main leads and supporting actors is nuanced, restrained and simply brilliant.
The series starts as a murder mystery and plays out as a complex story and social commentary on Punjab. Beautifully realised, heartfelt and full of raw emotions. You cannot miss this one.
Bravo 👏

Great series, realistic and explains emotions. Unfortunately Indian audience have no idea how to rate a movie or show. Those who like it they rate it 10 or 9 and those who don't like as much they give 1 or 2 stars. Guys there is a lot in between.
This series's quality is there are no regular Punjabi film actors still perform authentic Punjabi dialogues. Every character is very important. Dead bodies are displayed so realistic. Some people may feel it slow but that's because it's too realistic. No one hero or villain, every character have it's flaws and strengths. All in all one of best Punjabi thriller.

Kohrra is raw, rustic, real and gritty. It is a slowburn relationship drama with the backdrop of a murder, that never loses grip even for a brief. There is no scene in the show that feels unrequired. It delves into themes like love, sexuality, class, migration and family very effectively. The performances are spot on. The human dynamics are explored beautifully. The camera work and cinematography is brilliant and it makes the show very immersive to watch. Kohrra has the ability to linger in the mind, long after it is watched. Some people might give bad reviews due to the controversial topics this show deals with, but this show deals with every topic quite accurately.

As a foreigner, i learn quite a lot about Punjab in this drama series. Many societal issues like the rich and powerful family to the poor family who may use marriage to change their fate, polyandry, traditional patriarchal family, urgency of some governement officials to solve crimes without proper investigations(not sure of this) and the need for LGBT to conceal their identity through marriages were covered in this show. The dialogues between the actors are not fantastic but they are raw and realistic and i like the way they address each other according to the positions in the family or their society. On the whole, the plot is predictable but still watchable.
