Love Is Blind: Germany

Love Is Blind: Germany Season 1 Episode 8 Recap: My Nerves Are Shot
Image
If things heated up in Greece on Love Is Blind: Germany, now things are growing icy for some of the cast members of the reality TV show. Many couples are still clearly struggling with communication and basic compatibility.

In this episode of the show, the weddings are fast-approaching, and the pairs have major decisions to make. For one couple, sadly, it all proves to be too much.

Courtesy of Netflix Hanni Remains Hesitant

We open with Hanni and Daniel talking about how suit and wedding dress shopping went. Hanni says she didn't have "the moment" she was expecting, that she didn't put on a gown and feel like everything clicked. "I still don't 100% know that I'll say yes at the altar," she admits, and Daniel looks crestfallen. Could her hesitance set the tone for the rest of the cast?

Next, we see Alina and Ilias cuddling in bed. Ilias tells the cameras that,...

Love Is Blind: Germany Season 1 Episode 7 Recap: It Needs To Be Perfect
Image
We're now past the halfway point on this season of Love Is Blind: Germany. The reality TV show cast is still hoping to see whether they can make it all the way to the altar.

In this episode, we see the couples continuing to live together and get to know one another. On top of that, introductions to their family members begin, making things even more complicated.

Courtesy of Netflix Ilias Is Put In His Place

We pick up at the cast members' cocktail party, where Alina is watching Hanni and Ilias chatting happily together. Jen tells Alina that she doesn't have to be fine with the persisting connection between Hanni and Ilias, and that it's a larger problem than regular jealousy.

Later, Alina tells Ilias that he must not "fully understand everything that's at stake." In keeping with his trend of always saying the wrong thing, Ilias says he's...

Love Is Blind: Germany Season 1 Episode 6 Recap: In The Back Of My Mind
Image
Now that we're on Episode 6 of Love Is Blind: Germany, we get to see how the cast members navigate being around their old flames. With everyone gathered together in Greece, the temptation to explore former connections might creep up.

Can the reality TV couples figure it out before it's too late? Or will they fall apart before they get the chance to move in together?

Courtesy of Netflix The Love Triangle Is Put To Rest...For Now

We see Daniel and Hanni playing tennis together, and he jokes that he doesn't like losing things, perhaps alluding to her connection with Ilias. We get a peek into what may be their first issue, the fact that Hanni might need more alone time than Daniel, but he assures her that he's happy to leave her be whenever she needs.

Meanwhile, Ilias assures Alina that he's confident in their connection, saying he's realized...

Love Is Blind: Germany Season 1 Episode 5 Recap: Keeping The Door Open
Image
The first season of Love Is Blind: Germany is in full swing. Now we see the reality TV show couples take their connections to the real world.

In Episode 5, the cast's vacation time in Greece continues. For some, however, conversations with former pod matches create some complicated feelings.

Courtesy of Netflix The Couples Weather The In-Person Party

We pick up with Hanni and Ilias at the group party. Ilias is in hot water, realizing how much he's still into Hanni even though he's now engaged to Alina. Back in their hotel room, Ilias seems anxious, knowing that he's being "unfair" to Alina with his complicated feelings. Alina asks him what it was like to see his other matches in person that evening, and he covers up his true emotions, saying he's securer than even in being with her. (Hearing this made me so sure this would come back to bite him later in the episode.

Love Is Blind Germany Season 1: When Is The Finale & How Many Episodes Are Left?
Image
Since its debut on January 3, 2025, Love Is Blind: Germany has aired the first four episodes, leaving many wondering how many are left and when the finale will air. Love Is Blind: Germany introduced a group of hopeful singles from Germany, ready to find their soulmate. It follows a similar format to its predecessors, aiming to see if love can truly be blind. Stephanie "Steffi" Brungs and her husband, Christian Wackert, are Germany's answer to Nick and Vanessa Lachey, who've been hosting the original Love Is Blind since its inception.

Love Is Blind: Germany season 1 featured men and women in their 20s and 30s hailing from different cities across the country, including Frankfurt, Cologne, Berlin, and more. The series was filmed in Love Is Blind: Sweden's home, Stockholm, during the initial pod phases before the engaged couples flew to Greece for a romantic retreat. It didn't take long before things...

This older Japanese Netflix show was surprisingly one of the most popular shows of December 2024
Image
The stats for Netflix's top 10 non-English TV shows list from the final week of December (Dec. 30 - Jan. 5) are in, and you won't believe what older yet beloved Japanese show made the cut. It's none other than Alice in Borderland, often referred to by some as the Japanese Squid Game.

In a new Netflix press release, the streamer shared all 10 non-English shows that earned a spot. The series that made the list were the most popular non-English shows during the period of Dec. 30 to Jan. 5. As expected, at the No. 1 spot sat Squid Game season 2 with 58. 2 million views for that week. Since the brand-new second season had just recently come out, many people were also going back to rewatch the first season. This is why Squid Game season 1 ended up ranking at the No. 2 spot with 13.6 million views.

Next, the drama miniseries La Palma took the No. 3 spot, followed...

Love Is Blind Germany Season 1: Which Couples Got Engaged?
Image
The much-awaited Netflix reality series Love Is Blind: Germany season 1 premiered on January 3, 2025, featuring 30 participants, but only five pairs went to Greece for their romantic gateway despite having six engagements. Love Is Blind: Germany is the latest addition to the ever-growing international franchise. This comes after the dramatic Love Is Blind season 7 concluded on October 30, 2024, and Love Is Blind: Habibi, which had some of the most jaw-dropping moments on reality TV. Hosted by Stephanie "Steffi" Brungs and her husband, Christian Wackert, the season saw some participants' hearts get broken while others found love.

The streaming giant released the first four episodes, presenting the speed dating processes and the engagements. While Sally and Medina got engaged in the pods, the couple had one of the most awkward moments upon meeting, similar to Love Is Blind season 7's participants, Leo Braudy and Brittany Wisniewski. It became obvious that Sally was uncomfortable, especially...

We're finally out of the pods on Love Is Blind: Germany. Now the reality TV show's engaged couples set out for Greece for a romantic getaway.

While the couples start off on their own, eventually everyone is brought together for a party. Will seeing former pod matches for the first time stir up old feelings?

Via: Aetb via DepositPhotos Reveals Go Right And Wrong

We pick up immediately after Sally and Medina's reveal, and Sally says she doesn't feel like she knows the man she just met, still in tears over how uncomfortable their meeting was. Shortly thereafter, the crew informs Medina that Sally has left the set, which comes as a surprise to him, though he does say he could sense her hesitation when they met.

Things quickly move on to better news, as Tolga and Shila have their reveal together, and this time no one runs away.

Love Is Blind: Germany Season 1 Episode 3 Recap: See You Later
Image
We're quickly nearing the end of the pods on Love Is Blind: Germany Season 1. As the cast members wrap up their dates on the reality TV series, they must decide whether they'll leave engaged.

For some, the decision is an easy one. For others, however, choosing between their top two connections proves to be a brutal trial.

Netflix Choices, Choices, Choices

The drama I was hoping for in the first two episodes is finally coming to pass: sure enough, a love triangle is budding between Tolga, Hannah, and Shila. Tolga himself is so confused that sometimes he even mixes up the two women's names when talking to the cameras, solidly securing him as one of my least favorite cast members of the season.

Meanwhile, Fabio seems to have decided on his feelings for Shella, going on to stress about how he'll break the news to Alberta. Back in the women's quarters,...

The 7 Best New Shows on Netflix in January
Image
New year, new Netflix. Ok, yes, Netflix releases new shows, movies, specials, and more every month, every week, just about every day, but there are still key changes afoot for the streaming service in 2025, and January features several indicators as to what those changes may mean for subscribers.

For one, live sports isn’t going to wrap after Netflix’s Christmas Day NFL games. Even more important to the streamer’s future than a single day of high ratings — as the NFL certainly provided, not to mention how many new sign-ups the two marquee games inevitably drew — is a week in, week out attraction for dedicated fans. In January, that means “WWE Raw 2025.” Netflix will be airing a new wrestling extravaganza every Monday night throughout the year, with a live broadcast starting at 8 p.m. Et and replays available for anyone who needs to catch up on their own time.

Love Is Blind: Germany Season 1 Episode 2 Recap: Opening Up
Image
As we near the end of the first week of Love Is Blind: Germany, the cast members are sorting out their feelings and deciding if their perfect match lies on the other side of the pod walls. How many contestants of the reality show will find true love sight-unseen?

In the second episode of Season 1, we get the first in-person reveal, as well as an additional proposal. We may also be seeing the first love triangle of the season emerge.

Netflix The Pod Love Progresses

We open with the first in-person reveal between Hanni and Daniel. Hanni's so nervous that she covers her eyes when the doors first open, gathering herself before she can bear to look up at her fiancé for the first time. Eventually, though, they both work through their nerves and embrace for a kiss. "I'm really excited about our future," Daniel tells the cameras. "Very optimistic.

2025 TV Premiere Dates: New and Returning Shows
Image
If there’s a show you’ve been waiting years to return, chances are it’s coming back in 2025. From “Stranger Things” Season 5, which is expected to premiere later this year, to “Severance” Season 2, some of the biggest and buzziest shows on television are expected to make their returns in this new year.

Part of the reason for this big return has to do with the residual effects of the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Those historic Hollywood effects delayed production across the board. While broadcast series were largely able to air new episodes in 2024, prestige streaming and cable shows — which typically take a bit longer to produce on average — needed a bit more time to bounce back.

But bounce back they did. And it’s not just the “White Loti” and “Andors” of the world fans have to look forward to. Do you love procedural classics? New episodes of...

Image
Netflix Germany unveiled a pair of feature films, including Wiedemann & Berg title Brick, true-crime docs and a reality competition series this evening at a showcase in Berlin.

Slated to launch in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (Dach) in 2025, the film follows a couple, Tim and Olivia, whose apartment building suddenly surrounded by a mysterious brick wall.
