We pick up with Hanni and Ilias at the group party. Ilias is in hot water, realizing how much he's still into Hanni even though he's now engaged to Alina. Back in their hotel room, Ilias seems anxious, knowing that he's being "unfair" to Alina with his complicated feelings. Alina asks him what it was like to see his other matches in person that evening, and he covers up his true emotions, saying he's securer than even in being with her. (Hearing this made me so sure this would come back to bite him later in the episode.

Since its debut on January 3, 2025, Love Is Blind: Germany has aired the first four episodes, leaving many wondering how many are left and when the finale will air. Love Is Blind: Germany introduced a group of hopeful singles from Germany, ready to find their soulmate. It follows a similar format to its predecessors, aiming to see if love can truly be blind. In a new Netflix press release, the streamer shared all 10 non-English shows that earned a spot. The series that made the list were the most popular non-English shows during the period of Dec. 30 to Jan. 5. As expected, at the No. 1 spot sat Squid Game season 2 with 58. 2 million views for that week. Since the brand-new second season had just recently come out, many people were also going back to rewatch the first season. New year, new Netflix. Ok, yes, Netflix releases new shows, movies, specials, and more every month, every week, just about every day, but there are still key changes afoot for the streaming service in 2025, and January features several indicators as to what those changes may mean for subscribers.

For one, live sports isn’t going to wrap after Netflix’s Christmas Day NFL games. Even more important to the streamer’s future than a single day of high ratings — as the NFL certainly provided, not to mention how many new sign-ups the two marquee games inevitably drew — is a week in, week out attraction for dedicated fans. In January, that means “WWE Raw 2025.” Netflix will be airing a new wrestling extravaganza every Monday night throughout the year, with a live broadcast starting at 8 p.m. Et and replays available for anyone who needs to catch up on their own time.

As we near the end of the first week of Love Is Blind: Germany, the cast members are sorting out their feelings and deciding if their perfect match lies on the other side of the pod walls. How many contestants of the reality show will find true love sight-unseen?

We open with the first in-person reveal between Hanni and Daniel. Hanni's so nervous that she covers her eyes when the doors first open, gathering herself before she can bear to look up at her fiancé for the first time. Eventually, though, they both work through their nerves and embrace for a kiss. "I'm really excited about our future," Daniel tells the cameras. "Very optimistic.

“Willkommen in Deutschland!” Love is Blind flies all the way to the land of Beethoven, Frankfurt sausages, and Oktoberfest with Love is Blind: Germany. Single men and women from all walks of life come together for a different kind of modern romance. Over four weeks, these singles are put into isolated pods. They are paired up with their potential future soulmate, all without ever seeing them.

To kick off 2025, Netflix has added a new slate of films to its streaming library, highlighted by Dune: Part Two. Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi blockbuster, which Consequence named the fourth best film of 2024, is streaming on the service as of January 1st.

Dune: Part Two, which stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, and more, remains available to stream on Max. If there’s a show you’ve been waiting years to return, chances are it’s coming back in 2025. From “Stranger Things” Season 5, which is expected to premiere later this year, to “Severance” Season 2, some of the biggest and buzziest shows on television are expected to make their returns in this new year.

Part of the reason for this big return has to do with the residual effects of the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Those historic Hollywood effects delayed production across the board. While broadcast series were largely able to air new episodes in 2024, prestige streaming and cable shows — which typically take a bit longer to produce on average — needed a bit more time to bounce back.

Netflix Germany unveiled a pair of feature films, including Wiedemann & Berg title Brick, true-crime docs and a reality competition series this evening at a showcase in Berlin.

The sizeable slate announcement, which comes a day before a similar UK event, is notable given that Germany’s TV producers have seen the likes of Sky Deutschland pull out of originals and Paramount+ changing direction in their local production efforts.

Among the new titles is feature Brick (working title), which is currently being filmed and stars the likes of Matthias Schweighöfer, Ruby O. Fee and Frederick Lau. Slated to launch in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (Dach) in 2025, the film follows a couple, Tim and Olivia, whose apartment building suddenly surrounded by a mysterious brick wall. They are forced to work with their neighbors to find a way out.
