Has unique plot, story line is really engaging, mystery is beautifully blended with romance. No cliche cringe melodrama, not much similarity with every other k-drama out there. A must watch if looking for something refreshing and new. The ML and FL couldn't be any better. The supporting cast also did a great job. Drama has only 10 episodes and it is a binge watch worthy series that you can finish in maximum 2 days. I don't know why the rating is still below 8, it should at least be more or less 9/10. I hope we get to see dramas with such one of a kind story more in upcoming days. I am just sick of all those college/office romance dramas that has same story line with leads having ptsd, disturbed and malfunctioned family history, past connections with the other lead, one lead being poor and so on.
I love the premise of this show!
The Witch takes its time, and while that might leave you craving something big to happen, it's also part of what makes it so powerful.
Instead of fast-paced action, the show pulls you into a slow, lingering melancholy, where every glance, every silence, and every carefully chosen word carries weight. And somehow, before you know it, you're hooked.
Park Mi Jeong's loneliness and isolation are painful to watch. She's the kind of character who makes your heart ache without even trying. She doesn't beg for sympathy, yet you feel her loneliness in every quiet sigh and half-hearted smile. Labeled a "witch," she's the perfect example of how society loves to turn the unknown into something to be feared.
And then there's the male lead-who, bless his heart, is warm, hopeful, and so alive in contrast to Mi Jeong's quiet suffering.
I found it fascinating how this show critiques society, exploring how fear of the unknown can spiral into a literal witch hunt. It highlights how misunderstandings and prejudice can lead to devastating consequences when people are judged for being different.
I'm really curious to see where this story ends!

Without really giving any spoilers, this show feels like a 4 or 5 episode mini series stretched out into 10 hour long episodes. Even then the show doesn't realise the full potential of the premise it's introduced.
The main questions are never explained and the writers seem to shy away from actually getting into what the curse actually is and how to stop it altogether. Episode 2 is literally a rehash of episode 1 with some added scenes of the female MCs perspective. All of this could've been merged into the pilot instead of wasting the viewers time.
Then MULTIPLE episodes of the main character investigating the curse, data collecting and stalking the female MC. All of these episodes could've been done in one single episode. The amount of times you see the same rehashed scenes or irrelevant sideplots with a certain detective character is an absolute joke. It's clearly just done to pad out the runtime.
The concept of the show is interesting, but there was barely any payoff and I literally just stuck with it to see if they could actually salvage an interesting plot development in the final episodes. Even the resolution is barely satisfying, it just kindve ends when certain conditions are met, with the main characters having only spent about 5 scenes together in 10+ hours of runtime.

Slow burning romance is good but slow burning Suspense-thriller with a romance subplot is just something else! I've truly enjoyed this drama from the first to last! With every episode the plot thickens and the suspense gets better for you to really hookup to the plot! I know some will get it slow and boring but believe me after 2/3 episodes it just gets better and more interesting! It's truly regrettable that this drama is not everyone's cup of tea!
The only regret I've for this drama is that I didn't get enough of them!!! Seriously I need more of them!!! Both the main couple and the second couple, with that much yearning and angst they could have more screen time easily! What a shame!!!

Korean Drama '' The Witch '' is a supernatural drama full of suspense.
The drama has an interesting cinematography, with a beautiful atmosphere, dark and agsty. The characters were interesting as well. They were struck with misfortunes, and yet they endured. The male character was also passionate, almost paranoically, about his science and about the female lead.
However, the love story was odd, and it felt more like a story about a stalker and his victim than a man who falls in love with a witch. Also, the ending was rushed and was not nicely handled, especially since they added that time jump.
Finally, all the performances were great, and everyone in the cast did a good job with their performances.
So, overall, five out of ten.
