Broken Promises 5 has created quite a buzz online and when one considers everything that went into producing this movie, the magnanimous feat of shooting a Feature film with little to no budget and the opportunity given to over 200 people to play a role onscreen, we can see why this movie is so special to fans.

Where does one even begining. I went in with no expectations, not really a fan of local films, and i have to say i was mind blown. The movie starts off very seriously, but the story is concise, and easy to follow. The story was engaging and it made you want to know more. The laughter starts gradually and builds to a huge explosion within the first 30min.

I will confidently say that this is the most funniest film i have ever seen, and seeing that it is a local film, it will give a number of Hollywood films a run for their money.

I loved the love-story aspect of the film, and how ingeniously the director had woven out a popular fairytale story into a modern film.

The locations were interesting, having grown up in Chatasworth myself, it was good to see Durban in general.

I can honestly say that NO OTHER LOCAL FILM COMES CLOSE to that of Broken Promises 5.

The quality was really great for a local production.

Hats off to the cast and crew, on an amazing production and presentation, well done, you have earned my respect.

What a movie! Its about the present moment, the unspoken, hidden truth behind closed doors, the realities of life. The drama, suspense, comedy and so much more will have you glued to your seat, wanting more. I dont know how Mr Kumaran Naidoo, the much respected Producer, has managed to fit all of this into a 2 hour movie with a host of new cast members that have no prior acting skills. Let's just say that he is a man that understands people and knows how to bring out "hidden talent". It gives me great honour to have been part of this movie. So, dont take my word for it...go watch it for yourself!

The movie highlights the reality of daily issues that are faced by all genders in our community. It successfully educates and empowers society on these issues. As for the humour that is woven into various scenes, it will leave you in spirits of extreme laughter. This movie is set in various areas of Durban, showcasing the restaurants, shopping malls, scenic beach and the suburbs of Chatsworth. Gender based violence of women is a serious topic that is delved into in this superb movie but it also a comedy genre that is great viewing for the entire family. It is a great way to spend family time together and enjoy this hilarious movie. It is filled with a lot of twists in the storyline and contains numerous comical moments that will make you burst out laughing. It is highly recommended if you are feeling sad or down, and will definitely boost your mood with laughter. A great addition to the Broken Promises franchise so definitely a great movie to watch. It is great comedy entertainment with a very serious message highlighting Gender based violence.
