The Whale actor Sadie Sink has shared what it was like to shoot the series finale episode of Stranger Things, after nearly eight years since joining the hit Netflix show. Sink will be reprising her fan-favorite role as Max Mayfied, who was first introduced in Season 3 as the new kid in town.
During a recent interview with THR, Sink recalled the cast’s emotional final day on the set of Stranger Things Season 5, revealing that she had to do a lot of crying during that day. "I haven’t seen anything from it yet. I’m very curious though. It’s going to be super emotional so I’m ready to cry with everyone," she said. "I had cried so much that my eyes were so puffy — they had never been like that before and there are some pretty embarrassing photos of me just with these giant puffy eyes." Other than Sink,...

Through its powerful visual and auditory storytelling, films have a unique ability to rekindle memories of past eras, childhood, or simpler moments in life. Nostalgic movies often reflect cultural trends, iconic moments, and heart-warming themes, allowing audiences to emotionally reconnect with their own personal histories or with bygone periods.
This list highlights some nostalgia-inducing films that, through lush productions or skilful era recreation, evoke feelings and memories you might not realize you had. These films romanticize the passage of time and the loss of fleeting moments, using vivid imagery and sound to summon a deep connection to the past—even when this past is a turbulent one, or one you just want to lose yourself in.

Warning! This article contains Spoilers for Beetlejuice 2!Long before Beetlejuice Beetlejuice came to fruition in 2024, Tim Burton and Michael Keaton had been open to developing a sequel to the 1988 classic horror-comedy in the early 1990s. While Beetlejuices animated TV show spinoff provided a quicker follow-up to the hit story upon debuting in 1989, Burton and Keaton had still been looking around for a compelling script for a direct movie sequel. The director was handed various screenplays over the years, but the most notorious failed Beetlejuice sequel is Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian, which dates back as early as 1990.
Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian would have followed Beetlejuices Deetz family moving to Hawaii to develop a vacation resort, which they would discover is being built on an ancient burial ground. The film would then see Keatons Betelgeuse step in, awaken ancient spirits, and create plenty of chaos on the islands most likely while donning a Tommy Bahama shirt.

With that era forever in style, we’ve put together this list of ’90s shows that you’ve been waiting on. Read on for a mix of shows that aired back then or are set in the decade — all here for your throwback enjoyment.

While “Stranger Things” Season 5 star Linda Hamilton may be preparing to venture into Hawkins, Ind. — hopefully by blasting some of Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” on her Walkman — she will not be watching the final season despite being a fan of the 80s-infused, “Dungeons and Dragons”-inspired Netflix drama show.
In an interview with Us Weekly!, the actor shared that while she’s “relished” every season of the show, being cast in its final season has “ruined” the experience of watching it.
“When you buy into something, you don’t see yourself in it. So, I think it ruined the show for me. I never watch [a project] once I’m in something,” Hamilton explained. “It would completely take me out of the reality of it to see myself in there. So, I won’t be watching [Season 5].”

Fantastic Four (2025) takes inspiration from a rather unlikely hit TV sitcom.
Fantastic Four director Matt Shakman spoke to ComicBook about the influence of his previous work, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, on the upcoming MCU title. "I've learned so much from working on It's Always Sunny over the years," Shakman says. "Those guys bring a unique combination of playfulness and precision, and I think you have to have both of those things in everything you make. You have to still be a kid in the sandbox playing and inventing, but you also have to be rigorous about what you're doing and comedy is even more rigorous than anything else."

The resistance is coming together, if ever so slowly.
The question that never honestly got answered in Invasion Season 2 Episode 7 is: who is the enemy, the military or the aliens?
The smart money would still have to go on the transformed aliens, now flat-out killing machines.
But, after an initial round of unity after the aliens invaded, humanity has splintered again. But instead of having hundreds of nation-states, it's broken down into the military and civilians.
Unfortunately, while the civilians are developing good ideas about conquering the aliens, the military has the guns and a rigid mindset regarding civilians.
You would think that Trevante Cole, of all people, would understand that, being former military and all.
But Trevante is a civilian on a mission now. Fate has thrown him together with Rose, who may be even more obsessed with the aliens than him, if that's possible.

“Gran Turismo” is a film of contradictions. On the one hand, it’s a video game movie while on the other it’s a true story about how a video game turned one of its players into a legitimate racecar driver. It’s a film aimed at fans of said video game, but not quite a feature built for the whole family. While it’s good in the moment, it’s doubtful you’ll must up much recognition of it within the next few months.
The film tells the story of Jann Mardenborough (Archie Madekwe), a teenage boy trying to figure out his path in life. His father Steve (Djimon Hounsou), would love to see Jann go outside and experience life, but the young man would rather spend his day playing the racing game, Gran Turismo.
On the surface, Jann’s story has all the hallmarks of a typical formulaic family film.

In 1994, Beastie Boys’ Ad-Rock teamed up with Monty Messex and “Crazy Tom” Davis to form a hardcore punk band called Dfl (Dead Fucking Last). Now, the band is reissuing their debut album My Crazy Life in a deluxe package that arrives August 11th via Trust Records.
While the ’90s saw the rise of pop punk, Dfl sought to return to the fast and raw sounds of the ’80s, when hardcore orginated. Monty Messex, who had previously been in The Atoms, recalled the formation of the side project in a statement.
“In 1993, I was obsessively listening to Bad Religion’s How Could Hell Be Any Worse,” he said. “I had this beat up cassette that I’d listen to over and over and over and over again on my Walkman. Kimberly in the new Street Fighter 6 brings the pain with her beat-dropping combos and colorful attacks. Her Street Fighting style is inspired by her desire to become a ninja based on the Bushinryu School of Ninjitsu. Additionally, Kimberly is a big fan of the 80s, using her spray paint and Walkman as she fights foes. Kimberly is an excellent fit for players who love 80s-style aesthetics and plenty of airtime attacks.
Kimberly in Street Fighter 6 can also be mainly compared to her predecessors, Guy or Zeku, from previous Street Fighter titles. For example, reflecting on the previous similar play styles, players should utilize her speed and agility to rush down opponents. Going high, drop-kicking low, and using projectiles as distractions, Kimberly gets in their faces to unleash deadly combos.

One of the more notable features of James Gunn's 2014 film "Guardians of the Galaxy," the tenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was its rockin' soundtrack of familiar 1970s hits. The film's main character, Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), was abducted from Earth as a boy and raised among space aliens. One of the only things he kept as a vestige of his life on Earth was a Walkman and a mixtape that was gifted to him by his dying mother. The tape contained "Hooked on a Feeling" by Blue Swede, David Bowie's "Moonage Daydream," The Runaway's "Cherry Bomb," and Rupert Holmes' oft-reviled "Escape (The Piña Colada Song)." Peter Quill's mother had interesting taste. Norman Greenbaum's popular pick "Spirit in the Sky" played in the film's preview and is on its soundtrack record, but isn't actually played in the final cut of the movie.

In November 2006 Microsoft introduced the Zune, a digital music player designed to compete with Apple's iPod, which already had a five-year head start in the marketplace. But I don't have to tell you that. If there's one thing history has taught us, it's that you should never underestimate the appeal of a good old-fashioned Zune. When "Guardians of the Galaxy" first hit theaters in 2014, it was a surprising and massive success for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Instead of showing audiences familiar faces in a post "The Avengers" super-powered New York City, "Guardians" offered a delightfully weird, grungy, and colorful space opera that tapped into something new. Once deemed "the riskiest Marvel film since 'Iron Man,'" it turned Chris Pratt from supporting funnyman to Hollywood leading man, gave Zoe Saldaña yet another prolific sci-fi role, and its '70s needle drops led to one of the best-selling movie soundtracks in history.
Most notably, however, the "Guardians" franchise transformed James Gunn's career from indie director to one of the most important figures in the comic book movie industry to date. After a conservative smear-campaign in 2018, Gunn was famously fired from directing "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" in a reactive move from Disney corporate.

Happy birthday to Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain, Pavement’s most beloved, most surprising, most perfect album. Even devout Pavement fans were caught off guard by the lush weirdness of it — so devoid of feedback, so not lo-fi, so rock & roll, openly aspiring to pastoral beauty and lyricism and hippie shit like that. Suddenly these art-punk jokers turned into a real band, gushing with almost insultingly gorgeous melodies.
