A Good Man

I absolutely enjoyed this Romance/Thriller! He Was A Good Man!!! Keep up the Great Work Mr. Smith! A woman can beg and plead there is no good men out here. The Good Man knocks on your door and he is rejected all the time. I recommend this Movie to all those Women out there who are trying to meet Mr. Right, take your time and get a background of the person because some people are not who they say that they are. Men do a background on these women out here too we not perfect either, fair exchange. People need to just try one time to be loyal to each other to see if it will work. The saying says "Only time will tell."

Kamal Smith is finally funny in this dark dramatic role. Ebony Tates' fine @ss once again proves why she consistently shines on screen; her portrayal is compelling and emotionally grounded. It's the writing falls short in places. It's evident when TOO many voices shape the narrative, resulting in a muddled perspective, especially from the female character's point of view.

The central "thug versus square" conflict is good but the woman's role feels misfired, she's written with a masculine lens that undermines authenticity. It's one thing to explore soft, sensitive men drawn to strong, masculine-presenting women; it's another to write a female character so unanchored in realistic emotion that she becomes an implausible caricature. The intention may have been bold, but the execution lacked the subtlety needed to sell the dynamic convincingly. It's what happened when men try to write from women's perspectives unconvincingly.

Despite these structural issues, the film held my attention and I give it a solid 8. These Detroit guys' movies are getting better.

The very first interaction was ghetto. Lead female character had an attitude the whole time. No idea what attracted the lead male character to her. She gets a "good man" and her and her friends refer to him as a "square". Typical. If someone is doing well for themselves, speaks well, dresses well, they are a "square". Dumb flashbacks... there is no point in showing a flashback to a scene that happened five minutes ago. Very unnecessary movie with nothing new to see. Tyler Perry movies are better than this Typical boring, ghetto movie from none other than Tubi.

Boring boring don't waste your time.

I'm a Tubi fanatic so I'm always perusing for good black movies. Imagine my surprise when I found this gem. Everyone played their roles well but the two leads really held it down. The lead male was very handsome and it was refreshing to see a beautiful chocolate leading lady. The storyline, acting, and look of this movie made it a great quality low budget film. This movie kept me entertained and interested throughout the entire film. I kept thinking to myself why I never meet these type of guys lol. But anywho. Give it a chance and watch it with your man or your girlfriends. You won't be disappointed!
