I'm an American girl that doesn't really enjoy watching movies nor shows. It's just not my favorite thing. However, I do watch them occasionally and when I do I'm really picky. This Turkish show appeared to me on my Netflix recommendations and it sparked some interest within me. I noticed that it is very appropriate and suitable for all sorts of people. This is what I truly love about it! It's like a breath of fresh air. For the next three years this is literally the only show I watched. No joke. I would take my time with episodes. Dissecting them slowly. During this time I was going through major depression and I distanced myself from everyone to find peace. I remember when I would put on this show I didn't feel alone anymore. I didn't feel sad. I felt like I was part of the story. I could relate to these various characters. I felt understood. I felt sort of intertwined with this show and joined the characters on the journey we call life. Ayshem (the main character) starts university in a big city and she unexpectedly falls in love with the humble Omar. Then follows the marriage and their life together. The other characters have interesting and emotional story lines as well. Overall, it's a beautiful story of close friendships, strong bonds, growth, humor, and of learning how to accept and love others for who they are.🍃
I started watching the show with some misgivings as it seemed a bit too melodramatic.however as I got into it I really rooted for the lovers to get their happy ending.
What I found spoilt the story was the lack of romantic affection between Ayslam and Omar. Gazing into each other's eyes and pecks on the cheek was silly and made their story lose credibility. Even on their wedding day, no kissing.Even in conservative Turkey this was silly and childish.
I really enjoyed this series. But was disappointed when characters just disappeared, this spoilt it and made it inconsistent. Also the sudden ending really annoyed me
Season one is amazing. I really enjoyed it. By far the best thing is the chracters. They grow, have flaws and have consequences to their actions. The first season is also very grounded. The only thing I didn't like was the music's timing. It was nice music, but the same music would play over different scence with different tones. For example, i would hear the same music that was used in a sad scene then be played in a happy one. It really took me out of the scene. The music would also be overplayed. There was hardly a moment that didn't have music the background. The montages were also unnecessary, but I didn't mind them that much. I don't like the second season as much. I felt like instead of building things up like they did in the first season, they instead dragged things on longer than needed. I didn't even watch the third season. Honestly, they should have stuck with just the first season and find a conclusion instead of a ending in order to get a second season. This was a quantity over quality kind of thing and the magic vanished after the first season. Still, it was fun to watch and I would recommend it.
Season 1 and 2 started really well but there was poor plot development in season 3. Very poor. The producer thought it was a good idea to just cut off integral characters in the previous seasons without a proper explanation or even mention. Makes it hard to invest in new characters in season 3. Started very strong but big disappointment at season 3. I can see why there was no season 4.
