I had the pleasure of watching this film not once but twice-with family and friends-and I must say, it was an experience worth repeating. In an era where so many movies follow a cookie-cutter formula of romantic clichés and predictable heartbreaks, this one stands apart like a breath of fresh, mysterious air. It's bold, refreshing, and unapologetically different.
From the get-go, what truly stood out to me was the genre itself. We don't get nearly enough well-made thrillers or supernatural stories these days-especially not ones that are this well-balanced between suspense, emotion, and storytelling. It's not just a string of jump scares or cheap tricks. There's an underlying intelligence to the plot, a deliberate pacing that draws you in, builds curiosity, and keeps you wondering what's coming next. It respects the audience's attention span and doesn't hand everything over on a silver platter.
The casting deserves a round of applause. Each actor feels hand-picked for their role, not just thrown in for star power. The characters are well-etched, believable, and each performance adds depth to the narrative rather than distracting from it. What's especially noteworthy-and frankly, long overdue-is the film's choice to make a woman the central protagonist. And not just any protagonist, but a layered, commanding, emotionally complex one. She carries the story with grace and grit, and it's incredibly satisfying to see her drive the plot forward rather than be a sidekick or a love interest.
This female-centric approach is one of the film's greatest strengths. The story never feels like it's trying to prove a point or score political correctness points-it simply lets the woman lead. Naturally. Powerfully. Authentically. It's a reminder that strong female characters don't need to be loud or aggressive to dominate a story; sometimes all it takes is presence, vulnerability, and resolve.

I usually don't write reviews for movie but this movie made me to do.
This movie is blindly misleading, showcasing mythology as true facts but there's no proof shown. Showcasing blackhole as shiva linga made me laugh. We all know what is black hole exactly. And another, making believe Sidda medicine is true medicine, which lab proven medicine are useless. This movie maybe convincing for older generations cause of religious faith in this film but not for newer generations. They know what is true and myth.
Don't give money for old geeks for making movies like these, there are many talented directors out there. Give them a chance.
Don't watch this film for mental health.

Bad reviewers made movie look bad. The quantum technology is already started helping to connect spirituality and science by quantum consciousness, humans still don't know what is black hole, only assumptions still exist. But fabrication of reality by observers are creating illusion believing it is real. Ppl shld believe in nature and connect science with consciousness, hope quantum technology proves it one day. Religions initiated the understanding of cosmology, though it is considered mythical due to various beliefs exist, it all depends on the intelligence made available to each region ppl help them depict how it has to be per their thought process or processed details might also be reason.

A well curated horror mystery drama blending a mythological tale through a robust screenplay and engaging visuals.
The plot of the story revolves around Agathiyaa,a film production designer who hires an ancient bungalow for set work finds out there is a strange mystery surrounding the place and how he cracks it forms the crux of the story.
Pa Vijay has conceived the brilliant idea and has portrayed the story onto the screen leaving no loose ends. The filmmakers has synched romance, torture, humour, betrayal, horror and family emotions in the right ratio throughout the story keeping the audience engrossed to the screen. Pa Vijay has incorporated the ancient culture of the motherland, the pre independence era and the legacy of the forefathers through a flashback perfectly infusing with the storyline.
Impressive performances by Jiiva,Arjun Sarjaa,Shah Ra,Radha Ravi,Raashi Khanna & Matylda. Good shots by the DOP Dipak Kumar and editor San Lokesh in giving an engaging mystery tale. The Colorist,VFX team and the Art team also deserves appreciation for setting the horror mystery ambience in the haunted bungalow.
A good watchable horror entertainer with light humour elements through an engaging narrative.

"Aghathiyaa" (2025) attempts to deliver a supernatural thriller with a focus on female empowerment, but ultimately falls short due to its weak visual effects and a predictable storyline. While Raashi Khanna delivers a commendable performance, the film's overall execution leaves much to be desired.
Raashi Khanna shines as the protagonist, a woman entangled in a series of mysterious events. Her portrayal is both intense and emotionally resonant, showcasing her versatility as an actress. She is the definite high point of the movie.
However, the film's narrative struggles to maintain a consistent level of engagement. The plot feels convoluted and predictable, relying on familiar tropes and clichés. The attempts at creating suspense and mystery often fall flat, hindered by poor pacing and a lack of genuine thrills.
The film's visual effects are a major letdown. The supernatural elements and creature designs are poorly rendered, detracting from the overall atmosphere and diminishing the film's intended impact. The low-quality VFX makes it hard to take the supernatural elements seriously.
The supporting cast delivers adequate performances, but their characters lack depth and development. The film's attempts at social commentary feel heavy-handed and out of place, disrupting the flow of the narrative.
Despite Raashi Khanna's strong performance, "Aghathiyaa" fails to deliver a compelling or memorable cinematic experience. Its weak visual effects, predictable plot, and underwhelming execution make it a disappointing watch, even for those seeking a supernatural thriller.
