Ten minutes to nowhere

This horror short makes some clear nods to a well-known blockbuster ghost film, so I kept expecting a similar plot twist right up to the end. And sure enough, The Gateway Drug does deliver some twists-but not in the way I anticipated. I have to give it credit for a well-executed misdirection.

That said, the story has a few gaps-some seemingly intentional, others less so-and I didn't fully grasp what actually happened by the end. It even gave me slight religious undertones, though I'm not sure that was the intention. Overall, the pacing felt a bit slow, which is a shame given the short film's brief under 10-minute runtime. Not much really happens, and being left without some crucial context made it a little frustrating.
