Initially, when I picked up this movie, I do believe I was in for a movie from Maverick Entertainment, given the movie's cover. Luckily, it was not.
However, the joy was short lived, because the script and storyline for this movie was an insane swing and a miss from writer Chima Okoroji. I found no enjoyment in the narrative, and the character gallery was about as interesting as watching grass grow. And I tossed the towel in the ring at 23 minutes of absolute boredom, and I just knew that there was no way I was going to sit through 152 minutes of this rubbish.
Needless to say that I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. As for the acting performances, well I wasn't impressed with what I saw. But then again, the actors and actresses virtually had nothing to work with in terms of script, storyline or character gallery.
This is not a movie that I would recommend you to waste 152 minutes on watching. Nor is it a movie that I will return to and attempt finish watching.
My rating of writer and director Chima Okoroji's 2018 movie "Blackmailed" (aka "Hooked") lands on a generous one out of ten stars.
