If you are high by any chance or perhaps a lot of alcohol got into you, there is a small possibility to like this. Not to understand it, but to enjoy the pretty colors, scenary and really weird passages of time used here.

Dark Sisters is not really a movie, but more monologues than anything else, long descriptions, plenty of words used over and over in order to achieve a proper run time I imagine. I really wanted to find some purpose to it, to excuse it's budget and see the forest beyond the trees, but there was no forest, nor trees for that matter. If simbolism is the main theme here, it's just too much, you still need a plot, proper characters, genuine development, anything that keeps one's interest alive.

To me this movie is like watching a plant grow. I know it sounds magical but it takes forever and does exactly what I would expect. So why waste the time?

Dark Sister is one of the most pretentious and boring experiences I ever had, a movie I honestly wish I didn't encounter. I warn you, you will get very little out of this one. Like trying to get water from a rock.

This film is like a first year philosophy student got really high and wrote on a bunch of napkins. This student will inevitably fail out of the program because they don't actually have the capacity to discuss philosophical ideas in a coherent and logical way. But they still spend the rest of their lives boring people at parties and trying so very hard to sound deep and profound.

I wouldn't bother watching this movie even if your high as there is no amount of drugs that will make it entertaining. If you're someone who finds meaning in generic affirmation you can find on the internet or self help gurus then maybe just maybe this movie is for you dave.

It's not like any other movie that's out there. An art film, for sure. Also very tense. It moves like a dream, and I think it's supposed to be a dream. With moments of dance and poetry, and also a horror movie weaving through the artful elements. Very low budget and there's a lot that's done here with a tight resource. The movie looks gorgeous overall. And the sundtrack is great. I'd say only watch it if you're looking for something new. This movie wants to be a new type of movie. Certainly not for everyone. Avoid if you're just looking for slasher or found footage. This is something very different. I give it a full ranking just because it's so bold.

I'm not sure why this strange little film is having a moment - but I couldn't be more thrilled.

It's not often that something this slow creates a buzz but it's a strange mix of relaxing and encouraging to get swept away by the vibe of Dark Sisters. That said, I must say, my roommate fell asleep during the film.

Without giving away too much, the film's ending is grim but somehow the meandering path to get there is through a grey swampy mess teeming with life and human emotions that leaves a feeling of warmth and hopefulness. It's like powering through a late Coltrane free jazz improvisation or Swans concert.

The closest film I can think of to be released this year is Asteroid City, a film all about is vibe who's plot is there just support the poetry.
