Avis à la une
This succinctly titled chiller features the writing and directing work of Filip Maciejewicz. His story is a slow burner featuring a number of clever ideas and twists that award concentration from the audience. To appreciate them however, requires sitting through a fairly routinely directed production that sometimes borders on dullness.
As an independent film 'Seventy Nine/The Asylum' is to be applauded, but there needed to be a few more flourishes to keep the attention from wandering on occasions. A slow story directed in a slow manner does not make particularly riveting viewing, but the acting, which ranges from adequate to powerful, disinclines the audience to lose interest.
I have a great fondness for low budget films, but some, such as this, could really have benefitted from a little extra time to tighten up certain scenes and allow the occasional shocks and violence to work more effectively than they are allowed to here.
My advice would be, don't go into this expecting anything particularly spectacular and, provided you stick around until the end, you will be suitably rewarded for 85 minutes. My score would be 6 out of 10.

This indie horror title takes place in a psychiatric hospital and the film was shot in Los Angeles, CA. Magic Elevator Films will self-distribute this title. And, fans of horror can preview the film's trailer and poster here.
In the story, several researchers try to cure violent tendencies in their patients, through brainwashing. Of course, the experiments do not go according to plan and some of the patients are set loose in the confines of the hospital. Mayhem is unleashed on the researchers.

I never thought i would actually sit down and write an actual review but after seeing this i need to say that this is the worst film i have ever seen. The acting was so bad that it could be done by anyone. this is supposed to be a horror/thriller but the acting makes it a comedy film. i have seen better school projects than this . i would totally not recommend watching this 2/10 because the bald guy was trying and i feel bad.
I started playing it on iflix, been 15 minutes and the acting is SO bad i'm sure the rest will suck so i'm not gonna waste any more of my time.
It's not that the actors are not known, or that their acting is really bad, i've given some of those movies a chance, i.e. Cube, and that was not bad. but this one is an exception, I can see when a movie sucks from mile a way. and fifteen minutes into this, i just know it. the fact that there was only one other user who reviewed this movie and gave it a 7.1 makes me suspect that it was not an authentic review.
the movie is categorized as horror... it didn't scare me, the opening scenes show some action and blood but as the movie progresses it just gets more and more boring and annoying that I had to come back to IMDb and write my 10 lines of text just so I could give it this rating.

For a B rated SciFi thought this movie was pretty interesting. Thought the bad cop/prison guard was a pretty cool and an intimidating character, especially the way he ate and peeled the apple..believable and evil character....although a b rated movie i found the cast and filming pretty good quality, of course its not Lucas and Star Wars but definitely entertaining and keeps you on the edge of the seat,...thumbs up..I enjoy some of these b rated movies especially thrillers, so many of the box office "must see's or disappointments I would definetlly recommend this movie to the thriller/sci-fi enthusist,i thoroughly enjoyed it.... give it a try!
