It ends leaving you wanting more...

Such a relaxed, sweet, heartfelt film anyone who loves love stories would definitely enjoy it. A great teen movie that captures the magic of connection. However, it left me wanting more, as I was getting into the story the credits came up, leaving me saying "is that it", I wanted to see the story unfold further, across every season, as stated in the title. That's a point! It would be amazing to see this story continue and brought to life as a series or with a sequel, where we follow the characters' journey as they grow. We truly need more, calming and relaxed love story films like this nowadays.

It was a simple but beautiful movie

"Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall" is a simple yet emotional film that blends a classic young love story with seasonal transitions. Jenna Ortega adds depth to the story with her sincere and heartfelt acting, while her natural rapport with Percy Hynes White makes the film gripping. It is successful in terms of visuals and atmosphere; each season symbolizes an emotional phase and this metaphor is used well. However, the script is too attached to the genre's patterns and does not offer any big surprises. Still, it is worth watching for those looking for a warm, emotional journey. We can say that it is a production that gives the viewer peace but does not leave deep impressions. To be honest, I watched it only for Jenna. (Sorry Percy)

A simple rom-com with complex interactions

This four seasons rom-com addresses love aggravated by expectations, self-expectations and the belief that you should do as you planned or everything is doomed (I personally think quite the opposite, that life is a forever changing substance and trying to restrict it to preset steps is a total waste of opportunities). Characters start with firm beliefs that are rather different but their relationship and influence they have on each other could change their perspectives and life choices.

The thing I really loved about this movie is the way Jenna Ortega and Percy Hynes White managed to portray the bloom of love and the growth of it adding to the predictable plot delicious nonverbal details - subtle face expressions, glances, all these i-will-sit-closer-to-you and turn-my-body-to-you signals. The movie tells the story of attraction that you can feel and no amount of low budget flaws can distract from the emotional effect of it. You will ache for them and you will root for them for their paths to be aligned in the end.

Recommended.

Okay Romance Movie

Winter Spring Summer or Fall (2025) is a romance movie starring Jenna Ortega and Percy Hynes White as the main couple and it was fine enough.

Positives for Winter Spring Summer or Fall (2025): Jenna Ortega and Percy Hynes White are good and they have good chemistry. I like the setup of their relationship and how it changes over each season. The movie looks nice and is competently directed enough. And finally, the movie did keep my attention.

Negatives for Winter Spring Summer or Fall (2025): This movie is every romance movie you've seen before just in a different setting with different actors. You have a lot of romance cliches in the story. The other characters were very boring and one-dimensional. And finally, the ending was very anticlimactic.

Overall, Winter Spring Summer or Fall (2025) is an okay enough romance movie that you've seen before and works better as background noise for other activities.

Cute and Heartfelt

Jenna Ortega and Percy Haynes White have great on-screen chemistry! I have really enjoyed both of their movies/TV shows in the past, and I adore Jenna, but I think people sleep on Percy's acting ability. I hope to see him in more films. In any case, I always love getting to see them together. This movie was a believable budding romance between the girl who has it all together and a more free-spirited guy who is still figuring things out. They meet in the middle in a kind of romantic paradise I think we all want but rarely actually experience. It's a joy to see on screen! Real life starts to creep in, and they have to figure out where that leaves them. Excellent acting from them both! It might not be super deep but this was a good, cozy film that will leave you smiling.

Jenna Ortega in a romantic drama, I'm in

Director Tiffany Paulsen delivers a new romantic drama that remains simple and straightforward thanks to the extraordinary chemistry of its lead couple. Jenna Ortega and Percy Hynes White share the screen again, reinvigorating the chemistry evident in Wednesday.

The film takes us on a teenage story that has its positive moments as we become more interested in the relationship between the main couple. The director's approach to her script is quite enjoyable and easy to digest, allowing us to always feel a sense of affection for the two protagonists. This makes it easy to follow this love relationship, even though it's riddled with genre clichés. However, the chemistry between the two leads allows us to enjoy the whole process in a simple and enjoyable way.

Ortega and White's adorable twists keep you wanting more of Remi and Barnes' love story as the seasons change. They're a key part of our enjoyment of this Gen Z love story, with all the aspects that make them enjoy a good love story. Even though this may seem like a cocktail of clichés to some, if used properly, as in this film, they certainly become more of a delight than a crime.

While making it clear that it's a decent film and won't excel beyond that, it's fulfilling and entertaining. It boasts beautiful photography, intense moments, and a romanticism laden with sentimentality, yet truly enjoyable. Added to this is the efficient direction by its director, who perfectly captures those romantic moments between characters so that everything flows and becomes a love relationship between the viewer and the characters in a direct and precise manner.

A movie for a weekend getaway.

Yawn

Jenna Ortega is too charming for this absolute flop of a movie. How this Percy Hynes White keeps getting cast in romantic comedies is beyond me, dude has less charm than a rat and his acting seems to be just him playing a version of himself. To say the script was mediocre would be a compliment. Think Tiffany Paulsen should look into other avenues than directing, she showed no style. The only thing positive was the soundtrack.

Also stop filming things in Utah and pretending they're somewhere else, it's clearly not NJ.

Hoping to see Jenna in something good soon or she should start looking at new agents. 3 flops in a row is yikes.

The beauty of winter spring summer or fall

Personally, i really enjoyed this movie though there is one or two things that could have been better or done better its almost perfect. Just gotta say love the romance and chemistry between ortega and hynes white's character Remi and barnes and also the high school setting adds on to the feeling of first- young, naive love which is an aspect that made this particular movie more memorable and enjoyable. I gotta add on that the first day this movie premiered i went to go see it with friends there wasn't a huge amount of people in the cinema room that i was watching it in but it was really just a beautiful fascinating experience and as a matter of fact i would totally recommend this movie to be watched.

Sorry but..

Both characters dont have chemistry..i got excited knowing Jenna Ortega is in the movie, coz i thought it was a good one. She did great with the acting ofcourse..but the guy's acting did not match. They could have choose another guy to play the role. Again Jenna's acting is everything, that made the movie atleast interesting.

Cant say more about the movie just really boring... Jenna deserve much better..good thing beetlejuice is coming, she can redeem herself from this awful movie. Her co actor on that movie needs to work more from that bad acting. Love the director by the way. Goodluck guys!!

The cutest movie ever, crazy chemistry

I have traditionally low expectations for contemporary romantic movies. Most of them are stuffy, pretentious, full of writer's/director's attempts to fit agenda and to make something likeable to everyone. And yep, we went to watch this exactly with these expectations, prepared to another one 2 stars romcom. And how surprised I was when it turned out to be very cute, touching and nostalgic.

It shows in a naturalistic way how teenagers make their first adult decisions, how cute and funny it all looks, and then remains in the memory for a lifetime.

And hmmmmm very strange, but it probably was the best role of Jenna Ortega I've seen. She rarely looks good as angry, self-centered or disappointed teenager, but is absolutely amazing as happy young girl being in love. Percy Hynes White is also a near-perfect casting choice.

So what do we have in the end:

  • insane chemistry;
  • very very good lighting, color, cinematography and music;
  • simple, but such a nostalgic story;
  • there are some questions to the script, pacing, real life representation and editing;
  • but the first two points absolutely compensate it all.

Was very surprised and happy to watch it in Warsaw on holidays. It reminded me of my own story about the meeting on the train and all the emotions that came after. Tiffany Paulsen, thank you for this fun time.

This film script and dialogues is more than likely AI-generated ...

The storyline and the dialogues, both. There is no way it is not AI.

It is a masterpiece of trite, of tripe. It is a masterpiece of middle-of-the-road behaviour.

This is cookie-cutter America. This is so boring. The aims of the actors, their plans are so normal, normal, normal.

  • It seems there is no imagination.

It is like a template, a blueprint for lukewarm middle America.

The girl comes from a Hispanic family, but the behaviour of that family, their body language is out-angloing the Anglos.

They have integrated the Puritan Protestant Culture and Language to such an extent that, They have managed to erase their original make-up. They might as well be Scandinavian Americans, Norwegian Americans, Anglo-Irish Americans.

At no point do you hear a word of Spanish. They never knew Spanish. The only Spanish we hear is spoken by a Wasp kid. They have entirely Central American faces, all of them, and bodies.

But the way they hold themselves, the way they speak American English, they are incredibly, incredibly Anglo.

  • The love story between the two teenagers is very sweet, but again, robot made.

Every step of their relationship is cookie-cutter, lathe-machine-made to perfection.

It names somebody as the script writer. I do not believe that person exists.

Or if they do, they are masters at using AI. Everything in this story, everything in this film is AI. Oh yes the acting is middle of middle of adequate OK; nothing salient, the machine frowns upon salient.

It is so polished. Okay, okay. This is what I personally saw.

And yet, and yet, and yet, and yet, and I am sad to confirm this, this is entertaining.

  • This is fun to watch. You always have the feeling you are watching something a machine made.

But, and as a human being, you can still enjoy it.

I will give this a four or a five, but I could give it a seven or an eight.

But I cannot because I am convinced this is the work of a machine.

We are now entering a world which is really not brave, a little bit new, but is the world we now live in.

Watch it yourselves and make up your own minds.

Lovely. The 2 leads were great.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie from start to finish. The script and directing were very good and I think they made good use of the theme of the seasons. The plot was not revolutionary but it was sweet and kept me engaged every single minute. But the 2 leads are what made this movie really special for me. I know Percy Hynes White was in Wednesday with Ortega but I didn't really notice him in that. I first noticed him in My Old Ass with Maisy Stella and thought he was delightful. So, when I saw that he was starring in this, I immediately wanted to see it. I found Jennifer Ortega great in Wednesday so I was all in. Neither of them disappointed! I found their acting to be excellent and the chemistry between them was lovely in every single scene--like they are genuinely friends. One of the things I appreciate most about him is his "natural" / authentic vibe. I am so sick of love stories that revolve around narcissists and superficial views of "love." I would very much love to see more stories about love that evolves from friendship with decent guys who respect women. I would gladly watch a sequel or this stretched into a series or mini-series. I'm in the mood for feel-good, pleasant, decent films these days and this one delivers. The other characters are not drawn with any detail but they serve their part. I thought her parents did a good job of being what they were supposed to be and I enjoyed the band members' reactions. I'll be looking out for these two leads moving forward and would love to see them in something together again!

Lovely

A very lovely, poignant film!

Really loved Jenna Ortega's portrayal and performance as Remi, it was refreshing given all of her darker, more rugged and "rough around the edges" type of characters recently.

Can't forget to mention Percy Hynes White's portrayal and performance as Barnes! He was just too adorable. He plays the heartthrob so well!

Jenna Ortega and Percy Hynes White's chemistry is what really sold me on this movie though. You can tell their chemistry shines and radiates through the whole movie and they just bounce off of each other's energy, almost like you're watching two friends just have a good time without even knowing it's a movie, you know?

Excited to see what they both do next!

A Heartfelt Journey Through the Seasons of Young Love

Winter Spring Summer or Fall is a beautifully crafted film that captures the essence of young love with remarkable sensitivity. The chemistry between the lead actors feels genuine and unforced, drawing the viewer into a heartfelt story without relying on clichés. With its stunning seasonal visuals and thoughtful pacing, the movie offers an emotionally rich experience that speaks to both the joy and vulnerability of growing up. It's a gentle, reflective film that balances warmth and depth, leaving a lasting impression without ever feeling heavy-handed. A charming and quietly powerful romantic journey that's well worth watching.

Opinion personal

I don't understand why they criticize the movie for the actor, this movie was already recorded and directed before the accusations against Percy, the movie is really well acted and interpreted, in my opinion it broke the expectations that could be had of him in this one, do not mix the personal life of an actor with his acting roles that in his case he plays them too well, most likely neither he nor Jenna believed that the movie was going to be published because of the controversy and hate that Percy has received and may still receive but in itself the movie is good so I do not understand the hate towards it.

Superb acting

This is a very enjoyable movie. Jenna Ortega and Percy Hynes White are really shining in their respective roles - nobody could have done it better.

As for the script: far from perfect. First of all, it is quite a stereotypical story, but that is not such a big problem. However, I can say without spoilers, that the behavior of one of the leads is not authentic in the Summer segment at all. But hey, nobody expected a Shakespearen play.

So getting back to the positives, camera work is nice, and the selection of music is superb!

Considering the genre (coming of age rom-com), I decided to be generous, and I am giving it a 9 out of 10. Enjoy!

Someone misspelled Autumn*

At first I was like, "sure, Fall is Autumn," but then I was like, "wait a minute, wait a minute." If I were on a boat, clam fishing, and wondering where the hell I'm heading and how I'm going to coast back to shore as closest to departure of home base, I would be very fall fetched in my train of thought to remember anything about Autumn and its spelling. Anywho, these two lead actors are exceptional, especially on Season One of Wednesday. Media and their news outlets overrating and over portraying a dubious scene of nonsense between the pair. It is almost humorous. I am still in anticipation for the viewing of this very unique and intriguing film and movie production in relation to a past reference of a movie according to song title. I wonder how past movie ties to current titled release and it's most current release to a reference of film, time, place, recollections of past or future. Especially the starts of seasons from any given year. All things considered 2024 being a "leap" year out of its anticipated recolection.

Loved it

This is such a sweet and heartwarming film. It leaves you with a beautiful sense of peace and happiness. The performances are truly outstanding - Jenna Ortega and Percy Hynes White bring so much life and authenticity to their characters. Watching them felt like witnessing real moments between real people, not just a scripted performance. Their chemistry is natural and touching. The story is simple yet deeply emotional, and it captures those fleeting, precious moments of youth and connection. I'm already looking forward to watching it again. It's the kind of film that stays with you long after the credits roll.

Finally something really good!

I was sitting at the edge of my sofa the whole time. It was moving, fun, romantic, sad, retro but refreshing, and was so normal!1 Love, just a regular normal young beautiful never old love. Thank you so much to whoever made the movie.

The choice of music, was awesome! I grow up in the 80ies and was a big fan of Talking heads. Today, kids are not that lucky when it comes to the creativity, but I am so glad that they are doing their research.

The main actors were amazing! Their chemistry, was electric. I love how they were developing their love naturally.

Great movie! Great photography. Great acting!

Super Cute

I'm a sucker for these types of movies. Remi (Jenna Ortega) is the "straight A," super-smart, good girl who has her sights on Harvard. Barnes is a nice guy, bad boy type, with no aspirations outside of the given moment. However, the world collapsed as the two ended up on the same train and hit it off. The good girl and bad boy fall for each other. It's not necessarily an original idea, but its execution is near perfect. I actually hadn't heard of this movie, but I came across it on Amazon and took a chance and I'm glad I did. This movie hit me right in the feels. The cinematography and scenography were beautiful, especially the winter scenery shots. I also like the idea that this film is just a look at four specific days over a longer relationship. They really do a good job of creating depth and complexity to these characters in just a short amount of time. Jenna Ortega steals the show as Remi. Jeanna Ortega is quickly becoming one of Hollywood's hottest stars, and I can see why from this film. Remi has a unique personality and is outspoken, headstrong, and determined. Also, she is way too cute. I've only seen Percy-Hynes White in this and My Old Ass, but I've been impressed by him in both. The two have great chemistry, and their relationship feels real and genuine. They also go through a lot of the same things a lot of couples do. There is also some deeper meaning in the title, and as some of the other reviewers have mentioned, there are several meanings to the word fall. All in all, this was just a fun, feel-good coming-of-age rom-com that will make you think and hopefully feel things. I'd highly recommend it for Jenna Ortega alone!

It felt like a cozy relaxing romance movie

This was a pretty laid back simple film. I honestly enjoyed it. I am not certain why it is getting so much hate or as to why it "flopped". It was pretty refreshing to see these two characters in something different than their last project "Wednesday". As many viewers know we didn't get to see much of the chemistry in that show with both these actors. Being able to see a film where they are both each other's love interest it was quite satisfying to see. Perhaps many people had certain expectations for this film and that is the result as to why it's rated the way it is. All in all like I mentioned this film was great!

Amazing watch

Winter Spring Summer or Fall was the first movie I've ever watched that had me kicking my feet and giggling, crying, and staring at my screen for five minutes after it ended. The plot is slightly generic, but who cares? It's enjoyable. It's fun. It's entertainment. And damn good entertainment too. Jenna Ortega and Percy do a great job portraying their characters. When they looked at each other with those love eyes, it singlehandedly made me blush and make me reflect on why the hell I don't have a person like that in my life. Definitely worth the watch, especially for something like a movie date night.

So so

Positives
  • Great chemistry, we also got to see the spark that we were deprived of in Wednesday. They are really good together on screen.

  • Great music, the soundtrack of this movie makes a fantastic playlist of its own that I will definitely be listening to a lot.

Negatives
  • Bad script and barely any plot. Definitely not 90 minutes material.

  • The coldness of Jenna's character made her look as if she couldn't act which was unfair for both her and the chemistry, since it made their first scenes absolutely dry.

  • The "rebel" phase of Ortega was underwhelming and off-putting for me personally.
