Avis à la une
Never forget the power of God. Wonderful story about a family whos mother dies and how the family pulls together and figues out each one needs the others.
Summer Snow is the gripping story of a family devastated by death, but recovering and re-discovering that life is precious and life can still be fulfilling. Hallie, the youngest family member at age eight, is phenomenal, and her character adds a whimsical and sometimes humorous touch to the movie's serious theme as she tries to help everyone around her -- selling Dad's treasured video tapes in a garage sale, using a hair dryer to bake terrible cookies for the neighbor, and selling toothbrushes to raise money for a classmate's dental work.
Taken as a whole, the film is engaging and entertaining, even as it focuses on the major issue. A teenage son and an older daughter both face their own issues, and Dad is at a total loss trying to be both mom and dad. Cast and crew combine to make this a home-run film for families looking for wholesome entertainment with solid family values.

This movie is an extremely good movie. It's based upon the story of a little girl who basically is trying to find her way after losing her mother. The movie itself has cute humor. A movie I highly recommend.
....but have a box of tissues nearby! I was very impressed with the writing of this story and the great acting. You really could experience the emotions with the characters. It's nice to see a story where a new wife doesn't show up to save the widower and the kids. Instead, they learned to lean on their faith.
My wife and I watched this movie at home, we found it on Amazon streaming movies. It is faith-based, as such some viewers will either avoid it or criticize it for that but we found it to be a very worthwhile and pleasant movie with good messages about family and friends.
Very young actress Rachel Eggleston plays Hallie, just starting the 2nd grade. Her mother was a teacher and, while we don't learn much about her, she apparently died over some weeks or months because she was able to write letters to individual family members to be discovered after her death.
Dad is a working man, a dentist, who tries to juggle everything, including laundry and food preparation but he isn't very good at it. Young Hallie seems wise beyond her years, at the same time unwise about the ways of the world, so when her new friend at school has a dental problem that Hallie finds out will cost $92 she sets about raising the money. Some of her methods, like having a yard sale for all the "junk" in the garage, cause new problems. But Hallie always is operating from a good heart and the desire to help others.
The production values and the acting in general aren't up to the standard of big budget movies, but overall it is a satisfying movie and young Eggleston is really a fine young actress, very believable in all her scenes.
