Avis à la une
Absolutely hilarious and my favorite student & teacher interaction of all time. "This is BS John!"
This is the epitome of a low-budget film with extremely high-talent behind the lens. Writing is tight, editing is sharp as a razor, music is persistently great throughout and the acting is exactly what one would expect from a movie where the ultimate goal is to play rock-paper-scissors in a large, professionally-produced environment. As ridiculous as it may sound, the story actually makes a lot of sense throughout the progression of the main characters journey.
It's 90 minutes of tomfoolery. Without knowing you, I know that you, the reader, have sat through much longer endeavors and felt cheated out of time sucked form your life. This is not one of those films. It tells you exactly what it is and never wavers. Have a Labatt Blue and a pastrami sandwich and relish in the kind of silliness you used to cherish as a teen.

If you're into rocks then I'd say watch School Of Rock. If you're into paper then I'd recommend Paper Towns. And, if you're into scissors then...well I just suggest you don't run with them. BUT, if you are looking for all three together in a decent R rated comedy, then you are a very specific audience and have come to the right place.
A friend summed up Rock Paper Scissors as this gem of an indie-style 90s comedy. And, as Superbad fans know, these are hard to come by, and I have to say it was a blast. Sharp, witty dialogue, fun characters, AMAZING SOUNDTRACK and an overall nostalgia of a bygone era before screen addiction, lends an organic innocence to the film itself. It's a Dodgeball-esque underdog story wrapped in a Superbad raunch romp and I enjoyed every minute of it. The grander scenes are reduced by the budget but it didn't stop me from feeling the feels and caring for the heroes. RPS might be war but this film will soldier on.
I almost decided to pass after discovering that it apparently doesn't exist .(Not a single review on Rotten Tomatoes? Really?) But I'm glad I sat down and watched because it's far better--without being "great." or "destined for classic and/or cult status"--than I assumed it was on the basis of its obscurity.
I appreciated the fact that the actors playing high schoolers actually looked young enough to BE in h.s. (In fact, most actually looked too young to play seniors. Lol.) The lead, Vahe Sevani, is immensely appealing, although I'm puzzled why the script made him an L. A. transplant rather than a New Yorker because he has much more of an "East Coast Vibe."
