Perfume is not an indian standard family drama. It's an artistic work by great actors and good storyline with an excellent direction. It starts out great, but one can see that the facts it is trying to convey failing one by one at a certain point. However, there are moments you would never forget. Kaniha's scenes where she has to give in to Pratap Pothan's virtues are my favourites. She makes some decisions reluctantly and tries to get over it, going back and forth from wrong to wrong are all witty moments in there. Kaniha had given a very good performance in the movie. So did TiniTom and Pratap Pothan. The only weak point of the film is its script. Also what happened in the crucial moments of the story is not so convincing. Even though the revealing side is conveyed later through some dialogues, personally I am not satisfied. And there are some glaring mistakes in the script. Kaniha is playing the role of a middle-class wife in this, who is forced into prostitution because of materialism. But the way she gets over it and the decisions she takes are a bit confusing at times but it engages the audience in a good way. The main factor that takes the film to another level is it's background music .Rajesh Babu Sooranad's music has blended perfectly with the mood of the film. Although the pace of the script was a little bit slow, I felt it suitable for this film. Anyway Perfume is a good watchable movie.
