I had not heard about the 2022 Thai horror comedy titled "The Fabric" prior to stumbling upon it by random chance here in 2023. And with it being an Asian movie that I hadn't already seen, nor heard about, of course I opted to sit down and watch it, given my love of the Asian cinema.

Writers Orachat Brahmasreni, Thamsarun Khusunthia, Trinnarich Nonghin and Chookiat Sakveerakul didn't exactly deliver a script and storyline that fell into my liking. I suppose you need to be a Thai and well-familiar with Thai customs, traditions and superstitions in order to fully grasp the concept of the narrative here. And truth be told, I found very little enjoyment or entertainment throughout the course of the 95 minutes that the movie ran for.

I wasn't familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. But I wasn't impressed with what I witnessed transpire on the screen, simply because the actresses and actors had nothing worthwhile or wholesome to work with and bring to life on the screen.

I found "The Fabric" to be a swing and a miss, and it is not a movie that I will recommend to fans of the Asian cinema. Yet, I managed to suffer through all 95 minutes, though I might have drifted off once or twice along the way.

My rating of director Nattapong Arunnate's 2022 horror comedy "The Fabric" lands on a three out of ten stars. This was a movie whose fabric could have been woven in a much better way.
