It is deception history by director's political view and underestimation of multinational disaster -war- and effort of a nation's struggle for its mainland under extreme conditions. It is a shame that it is a Turkish movie. Not just scenario is leaking, acting is also awful. The movie was taken in a place which is owned by the director and minimum necessary money was spent for figurants, effects etc... At overall, the movie is neither convincing for the foundation that it was built on nor it lets you to have nice time with cinema art. It is a cheap movie which was made basically to take the advantage of one of the greatest true story of mankind, tragedy and misery, hence to take your money. It is also quite meaningful for me that release of this movie on cinemas was quite close ( early close) to release of another Canakkale(Dardanels) movie which is obviously better and with no doubt more objective to what was really happened there.

It's like a student movie shot in the free day and in the tea garden. But even students could get a better shot.

it is definitely worst movie ever made. Although it aims to criticize war and holy sacrifice, it just achieves to mock viewers with ridiculous story, awful acting, amateur directing.. if i were an American i would try to get my money back as i can't get the time spent.. unfortunately here is Turkey and people can steal both your money and time... and can easily get away with it.. Also it is an insult for the ones who lost their lives in Gallipoli either Allied or Ottoman.. The director may pass his message without exploiting Gallipoli campaign.. but i think he just wanted to draw some viewers by just using Gallipoli name and present his "wonderful" family.. his wife, his two boys himself in an absurd story written by himself.. by his production company..

If u love god. Don't watch it. Because it is losing time. I watched one period in cinema. If someone give my money back. I will be happy. If u time a lot go out. But no watching this film. I think Sinan Cetin is worst director I have ever seen . Please don't create new films. His family in all who are in the film. His wife sons maybe cousins. But learn this your family not player in this game. Haluk Bilginer is good player but he is worst with this film. He loss his Carrier in this film. I say all worst things. One thing is best this is Canakkale. Blood is our soldier blood. We rescue turkey with them. No respect for them life is good but film is bad.

I came across someone's post mentio ning it as a great movie. I read quite a lot about the Çanakkale battle and as a foreigner learning Turkish wanted to see it.

But wow, what was that? Fictitious plot, dialogues full of pathos and fake patriotism.

The actors run back and forth between the trenches and discuss what they will do, who goes to the Turkish side and who stays with Australians. Really? They bury their father, a high ranked civil servant in the battlefield? Why?

A real insult to the memories of the martyrs who gave their lives in this battle. The director just exploited them for his family's hype and promotion.
