Sydney Sweeney Is Selling Her Bathwater: It’s The Perfect Gift For the Weirdest …
Image
Reading Time: 3 minutes

Few modern celebrities enjoy a fan base as loyal as Sydney Sweeney’s.

One needs only to glance at the comments on Sydney’s Instagram page to see that many of her followers are so devoted that they can only be described as “down bad.”

Those folks will likely be overjoyed by the news that they can now get a little bit closer to their queen — by purchasing a small quantity of her bathwater.

You Can Now Buy Madame Web Star Sydney Sweeney's Used Bathwater (In A Bar Of Soap)
Image
Sydney Sweeney easily shook off Madame Web's failings thanks to movies like Anyone But You and Immaculate. However, her take on Julia Cornwall was also a highlight in a movie with few of them.

Beyond Sweeney's brief stint in Sony's Marvel Universe, it's fair to say that the internet is obsessed with her. The blonde bombshell turns heads wherever she goes, and it's been revealed today that the actor has teamed with Dr. Squatch to make a limited-edition soap infused with actual droplets of her bathwater.

Sign us up.

Last year, a commercial with Sweeney soaking in a bath for Dr. Squatch went viral, not least because she referred to those watching as "dirty little boys." Now, she and the company are cashing in on the filthiest social media responses to that with this one-of-a-kind bar of soap.

"I honestly think it's a really fun, full-circle moment,...

Olivia Cooke Boards Neon’s 1960s Vampire Thriller “Brides”
Olivia Cooke in Pur-sang (2017)
Olivia Cooke has been cast as Sally Bishop in “Brides,” a 1960s-set vampire thriller from director-writer Chloe Okuno, after original lead Maika Monroe withdrew because her shooting dates clashed with Universal’s adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s Reminders of Him.

The Neon-backed feature follows Sally and her husband to a remote Italian villa whose enigmatic owner—described in early materials as “a mysterious count”—takes an unsettling interest in his guest, only to find her “feminist chaos” upends his carefully curated coven of vampire brides.

Producer Anthony Bregman called Okuno’s script “dynamic and unsettling in all the best ways,” praising its blend of Gothic menace and gender-politics bite. Okuno previously teamed with Monroe on last year’s stalker hit Watcher, but industry sources say she approved the recasting swiftly to keep the project on track for a spring 2025 start in Budapest, doubling for coastal Italy.

Sydney Sweeney Has an “Unhinged” Update for ‘Euphoria’ Season 3
Image
Brace yourself, Euphoria fans, the drama is far from over. Sydney Sweeney is back on set for Euphoria season 3, and according to her, things are about to get even more “unhinged.” The actress who plays the complicated Cassie Howard recently teased what’s coming next in the hit HBO drama.

Let’s just say, the chaos is only getting started. While details are still tightly under wraps, Sweeney’s comment is reigniting the hype for the long-awaited season. After more than three years of anticipation, the third season is gearing up for a return. And, if Sweeney is to believe, the wait will be worth it.

How Sydney Sweeney Feels About Marvel's Madame Web Flopping At The Box Office
Image
Hey, remember "Madame Web?" It's fine if you don't, but I'll quickly refresh your memory. Just as Sony's weird little cinematic universe of sidelined "Spider-Man" characters started petering out in earnest (after "Morbius" but before "Kraven the Hunter," to give you a sense of the timeline), S.J. Clarkson's "Madame Web" hit theaters on Valentine's Day 2024 and deeply underwhelmed audiences in the process. Not only was it critically panned, but it also absolutely bombed at the box office, throwing yet another nail into the coffin of what was once called "Sony's Spider-Man Universe" or the Ssu.

The film stars Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, and Isabela Merced, and the three of them have all moved onto greener pastures (by which I mean critically or even commercially successful projects). So, what does Sweeney think about the movie that now sits comfortably in her filmography right between the massively successful romantic comedy...

Kicking Characters Out of Your Party Can Make Maelle Overpowered Early in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Image
In a game packed with party synergy and tactical team compositions, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 pulls a sneaky trick on players who dare to play it safe: it hides raw power behind solitude. One character that thrives in the absence of allies is Maelle, especially when you lean into her Solo Void build.

While it might feel counterintuitive to bench your other party members, this setup turns Maelle into an elegant wrecking ball before the game even gets serious. The catch? You’ve got to embrace the silence and the shadow, both literally and figuratively.

Maelle embraces the void in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

In the early game, Maelle can go from solid support to total solo menace if you build her right, and that build starts with embracing her Virtuose Stance, a damage-boosting mode that requires a bit of setup but pays off in big, fiery ways.

The centerpiece of...

Sydney Sweeney: The Empire Interview
Image
Sydney Sweeney Veers Between worlds. To her 25 million followers on Instagram, she’s a glamorous, polished, pin-up type, and there’s something of the old-school, old-fashioned movie star about her public image. She leaned into that in the first season of The White Lotus, as the acidic pool-lounger Olivia; warred with and, duh, fell for, Glen Powell’s beefcake in crowd-pleasing romcom Anyone But You; and played a youthful superhero-in-waiting in Madame Web. Look at it from one angle, and she’s the essence of the trad leading lady. But for the most part, her work tells a different story.

The 27-year-old rose to fame as the naive, fragile Cassie in HBO’s Euphoria, in which her character is — deep breath — pressured into having an abortion, has a messy affair with her best friend’s abusive boyfriend, and eventually collapses into a chaotic, much-memed bathroom meltdown — while dressed like she’s in the musical Oklahoma!.

Madame Web Star Sydney Sweeney Says Edgar Wright's Barbarella Remake Is "Gonna Be Worth The Wait"
Image
The critical and commercial success of movies like Anyone But You and Immaculate meant it was easy for Sydney Sweeney to shrug off Madame Web. She's also confessed that starring in the Marvel movie was a means to an end when it came to strengthening her relationship with Sony Pictures.

Edgar Wright's Barbarella remake is one of many projects Sweeney is attached to as her star in Hollywood continues to rise (both as an actor and producer). However, it's been three years since we first learned the movie was in development.

Wright is busy shooting The Running Man, while Sweeney has everything from Split Fiction to The Housemaid and her untitled Christy Martin biopic on the way. So, has Barbarella fallen by the wayside as her schedule becomes increasingly jam-packed?

"I was just in London and had a meeting to discuss the story and the script," Sweeney tells Empire (via SFFGazette.

Sydney Sweeney Gives Fans Exciting 'Barbarella' Update
Image
Sydney Sweeney knows fans are waiting for her long-discussed remake of Barbarella, and the actress is hard at work on the film. In 2022, it was announced that Sweeney would star in and produce a remake of the 1968, Jane Fonda-led sci-fi cult classic. In 2024, director Edgar Wright signed on to direct and is expected to begin work on the film after his next film, the remake of The Running Man, which happens to star Sweeney's Anyone but You co-star Glen Powell.

Speaking to Empire Magazine (as reported by Screen Rant), Sweeney revealed that she was just in London for a meeting regarding the Barbarella remake. "I can't say too much, but it's really going to come together in a very, very fun and big way. It's a long process. I don't think people realize how long some things can take, but it's gonna be worth the wait..." Sweeney said.

Echo Valley Trailer: Julianne Moore Helps Sydney Sweeney Get Away With Murder In Apple TV+ Thriller
Image
Since breaking out as Cassie Howard in HBO's Euphoria, it would be fair to say that Sydney Sweeney has been on pretty killer form, starring in the likes of Immaculate, Anyone But You, The White Lotus, and Reality, and serving as producer on the first two of those as well as upcoming adaptations of Split Fiction and OutRun. In Beast filmmaker Michael Pearce's upcoming Apple TV+ thriller Echo Valley however, it looks like Sweeney is going to be on an altogether different kind of killer form as Claire, a drug-addicted young woman who rocks up on her mother Kate's (Julianne Moore) doorstep covered in blood that — you guessed it! — ain't her own. Cue tension, secrecy, and heart-in-mouth moments aplenty as the mother-daughter duo navigate their dark secret, one which — based on the newly dropped first trailer for the show — manages to pull Domhnall Gleeson, Fiona Shaw, and Kyle MacLachlan into its orbit.

Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney in Echo Valley (2025)
Sydney Sweeney and Julianne Moore know where the bodies are buried in the trailer for Apple TV+’s Echo Valley
Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney in Echo Valley (2025)
Parents often say they’d do anything for their children. Would they help them hide a body? What if the situation spirals out of control and the truth threatens to bubble to the surface? Would they remain the dutiful parent or start to see the problem for what (or who) it truly is? Today, Apple TV+ is debuting a trailer for Echo Valley, a chilling thriller directed by Michael Pearce, starring Sydney Sweeney, Julianne Moore, and Fiona Shaw.

In Echo Valley, Moore plays Kate Garrett, a woman recovering from a personal tragedy while boarding and training horses at Echo Valley Farm, twenty-two remote, Bob Ross painting-worthy acres in Southeastern Pennsylvania. In the middle of the night, Kate’s recalcitrant daughter, Claire (Sweeney), is covered in blood at her doorstep beside herself. As an unexpected guest shatters Kate’s quiet recovery, things quickly spiral out of control.

Sydney Sweeney, Julianne Moore Try to Hide a Dead Body in Apple’s ‘Echo Valley’ Trailer
Image
Sydney Sweeney and Julianne Moore make a splash in the trailer for the Apple Studios movie Echo Valley.

Director Michael Pearce’s thriller will begin streaming via Apple TV+ on June 13 — Domhnall Gleeson, Kyle MacLachlan, Fiona Shaw, Edmund Donovan and Rebecca Creskoff round out the cast.

Echo Valley centers on Kate (Moore), who is in the process of grieving a personal tragedy when her daughter, Claire (Sweeney), arrives at night covered in blood following a fight with her boyfriend. This leads the mother-daughter pair down a dangerous path.

“I know what you did,” Gleeson warns in the trailer. “I make one call, and all roads lead back to you.”

Later, Sweeney begins to have second thoughts about her decisions. “I’m freaking out right now because I read that bodies float,” she says in the footage.

By the end of the trailer, a somber Moore promises, “I took care of it — all of it.

‘Immaculate’ Soundtrack Pressed on Vinyl by Terror Vision
Image
The Immaculate soundtrack is available on vinyl from Terror Vision Records in partnership with Lakeshore Records.

The score is pressed on Blood Red colored vinyl and housed in a gatefold jacket with liner notes by composer Will Bates. Priced at $28.98, it’s expected to ship in June.

“Bates’ score is rooted with utilizing instruments traditionally associated with religious settings. These instruments, with their ancient tones, were then woven into the film’s score, creating an atmosphere that feels both timeless and eerily otherworldly,” Terror Vision writes.

“It’s difficult not to see the parallels of Bates’ work and the iconic scores of Italian horror maestros like Goblin, Fabio Frizzi, Riz Ortolani, Bruno Nicolai, and Stelvio Cipriani. However, Bates’ score stands out by blending traditional choral elements with avant-garde instrumentation, creating a unique auditory experience that is both familiar and unsettling.”

In the religious horror film, devout American nun Cecilia embarks...

'Until Dawn' Barely Survives the Night With Lukewarm Audience Ratings on Rotten Tomatoes and CinemaScore
Image
Talk about following a tough act. Sony's Until Dawn opened this week, days after Ryan Coogler's Sinners defied horror movie expectations both critically and commercially. Until Dawn will struggle to hold its ground in its debut weekend, while Sinners is expected to blaze past box office projections, like it did in its debut frame. Inspired by the video game of the same name, the movie opened to mediocre reviews and not-so-promising audience reception, which certainly doesn't bode well for its future. These missteps will ultimately work in Sinners' favor, as more casual audiences give it a chance thanks to the excellent word-of-mouth that it has been attracting.

Until Dawn currently holds a "rotten" 51% rating on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. But the film's audience score on the platform stands at a significantly superior 71%. A more accurate reflection of audience sentiment can be observed in the C+ CinemaScore that...

Reddit’s dark corners are once again headed to the big screen, with Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney and Dune co-writer Eric Roth leading the charge. The two are teaming up for a new thriller based on a viral Reddit thread titled “I Pretended to Be a Missing Girl So I Could Rob Her Family” — a chilling tale about deception, identity and a scam gone too far. With Sweeney producing and starring and Roth penning the script, the project is already drawing major buzz despite being in early development.

Joe Cote — an English teacher in Massachusetts — took to a sub-Reddit four years ago and penned a chilling story about a girl who used a family’s heartache as a tool to infiltrate their home and rob them. It was well-received on the site, with almost 4,000 upvotes and hundreds of comments under the post talking about it. Many said a missing person...

2024’s Scariest Movie Just Topped the Hulu Charts: “This movie will stay with you”
Image
I recently started a horror movie club with some friends from out of state. The ultimate goal is to slowly desensitize them and later convince them to join a wooded cult I intend to start in the next twenty years. But, in the meantime, it’s an excellent opportunity for me to share some of the horror movies I’ve been loving recently. Our next two films scheduled, for those interested, are Arkasha Stevenson’s The First Omen and Jason Yu’s Sleep. I’m not playing around as curator, okay?

For the inaugural meeting, I had a really hard time narrowing down the list of options. Few of them are horror lovers, and anyone who’s ever helped initiate a new genre fan knows how precise that first horror movie has to be. It’s a make-or-break moment, and through hours of deliberation, I thought of the perfect movie.

Ultimately, Neon won the worldwide distribution rights to the film for a whopping $17 million. It was the first major sale at this year’s sleepy Sundance and made the movie even buzzier.

The trailer doesn’t give much away, but the film is said to be a gooey metaphor for codependency, which you can totally get. The official synopsis reads: “Years into their relationship,...

‘The Leopard’ Netflix Review: A Period Drama That Will Scratch Your ‘Bridgerton’ Itch
Image
There is something very British about the new Netflix Italian period drama The Leopard. Upon doing some research, it seems the Brits have, in fact, adapted this 1860 novel by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa to create an illustrious miniseries that will consume your senses from start to finish. The show, set in 1860s Sicily, follows the titular character, the Prince of Salina, and his family through a time of distress and fear. On the surface, The Leopard seems to be a regular period drama with all of the ingredients that make them so lovable: a love triangle, family drama, people going to war, and a lot more of the usual fluff. But what stood out to me the most about The Leopard is that even amidst all of that chaos, at its heart, it is a drama about a father-daughter relationship.

As you can imagine, the Italian countryside is an absolute delight,...
