The Exterminator: Don Teschio's Revenge

Do you remember when movies were made just to be movies, and not to push political agendas? Do you remember when movies where meant to be fun, and not lessons? Do you remember when action movies had a semblance of depth and were not just reliant on CGI?

And so do the makers of The Exterminator franchise, so these movies are pure gold in a short format.

Just good solid action movies that took the time to build character and create interesting stories. The Exterminator Don Teschio´s Revenge is not 2 hours of people getting their head blown off but there´s a lot of killing.

I was pleasantly surprised at how patient the film is, how it builds its story to what I found to be a gripping end.

But it´s just the end of this movie not the franchise, that after credits scenes was intense.

This follows the same path, of a man pushed over the edge by some ruthless crime lord and his goons, the pacing and well-staged chase sequences are spot on and the film has a vibe of realism which makes it more than viewable. It also concentrates too much on the violence displayed on screen than anything else, there´s torture, executions and shooting mayhem.

Although the plot will be largely familiar to anybody who has ever seen a 'vigilante' movie, the story keeps on moving and is careful to stick with characterisation at the expense of action, turning it into something more than another blood-and-bullets high-octane thriller.

Yes, he has returned to put an end to violence, i´ve already seen the first one, so i was pumped to the see this one.

The material is quite heavy-handed in what it's got to say on a flawed justice system, as the exterminator cleans the garbage of the streets, warehouses, and factory´s.

There are some intense interplays, and a disturbing moment or two, with two guys exploding on a land mine, love that one.

The cast is pretty good and do a good job at it.

But overall a good revenge flick.

The end may not be what people expect, but it´s a good one, because it opens of what will happen next, i say he will return to execute vengeance once more.

This movie is a pleasent surprise because it remembers the times of the exploitation cinema.

The violence is not too heavy but heavy enough to shock the mainstream audience.

Director Rui Constantino brings on the goods again, by giving us a movie that tell us that when the exterminator goes out to make criminals pay, you better run or ask forgiveness, or you will be dead soon.

Now for the bad guys, this time we have 3 main guys and the rest are soldiers, but with heavy weapons.

The only returning actor is the guy who plays the mob boss, the other two are new.

Good adiction of these two, because they bring something fresh to the film.

The finale is a complete hell, and it´s filled with death all around.

For me it´s a 9.

A surprisingly solid film. I liked the movie a lot more than I thought I would.

The film is violent and tense at times, and the acting is quite good. The direction is good, although the choice of music is a little unusual, but it could have been worse.

I never saw the first one, but now it´s on my list.

The old revenge formulae are all in place, as they are with an infinity of movies, we see the exterminator on a quest for revenge against a gangster that terrorizes the city, with his goons and military army.

We see the exterminator in a quarry taking them down, and in an abandoned buildings were the final fight takes place.

I dig this a lot.
