Alicia Vikander and Daisy Edgar-Jones were originally cast but were forced to drop out due to actor's strike in 2023. Vanessa Kirby and Sydney Sweeney eventually took over the roles.

This is Daniel Brühl's first collaboration with Ron Howard since Rush (2013).

The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7, 2024.
