Avis à la une
Betrayed by My Bridesmaid (2022) is the kind of film that makes you wonder if the writers think audiences have never seen a thriller before. The storyline is painfully predictable, same recycled scenario, same obvious suspects, same gullible victims, and the same tired outcome. From the first act, you'll be shouting at the screen as not one character possesses the basic common sense to ask the glaringly obvious questions. Why doesn't anyone question the bridesmaid's suspicious behaviour? Why does the protagonist ignore every red flag waved in her face? A normal person would demand answers, but here, everyone acts like a clueless pawn in this absurd game of melodrama.
By the final act, the frustration reaches boiling point. The so-called "victims" (who have been unfairly vilified the entire time) are still treated with suspicion, while the real culprit smirks their way through every scene. At this point, you're rooting for everything to go wrong, for karma to strike the wilfully oblivious lead and for the wronged party to walk away, never forgiving the idiots who doubted them. If you love rage-watching films where logic is abandoned for cheap twists, this is for you. Otherwise, steer clear, your sanity will thank you.

OMG! Where to start! This was one of the biggest collection of terrible acting in one single movie! It must be a record!
The bride, her sister and the bridesmaids oh and especially the groom himself Steven He were all awful! Steven's acting and his dialogue was just plain irritating!
The story line could have been ok if tge acting was better! Oh then we have the CGI. The smoke and fire were just comical!
Steven He's best acting is in his Tik Tok "emotional damage" clip, because it's short and simple and does not require any skills!
I have run out of things to say and still have thirteen characters to use!

Finally, Lifetime produced a movie with diverse characters and a believable storyline, along with a great title. Excellent casting of Joy Sung Kim. Also some touching and emotional moments between the groom and his mother. A fun bachelorette party with a surprise stripper provides for extra entertainment. If you have been begging for a Lifetime movie with a diverse cast, this is it, doctors, best friends, and even the groom fit the bill. A great movie to watch if you're in a wedding party or better yet, about to get married. The writers, director, actors and Lifetime are to be commended, kudos!
Katie celebrates her birthday in a literal tiara as a grown-ass woman. Her assistant (or friend for the night.), Heather throws her a bash, which includes a choreographed dance w/ Katie's real friends, Jamie and Amanda. The night seems to be going well until Katie's recently out-of-rehab sister, Connie, sleeps with her boyfriend. The straw breaks the camel's back, and the sisters become estranged.
Years later, to Katie's surprise, though, Connie is released from rehab just in time for the wedding and seems more stable than ever. Skeptical, Katie reluctantly includes Connie in her bridal party. But not long after Connie is back in the fold things begin to unravel, testing Katie and Tom's relationship. As a few small pranks turn into Katie fearing for her life, Connie is blamed for everything as the most obvious culprit. Is she the culprit, though?
Yes, there's some plot holes such as why didn't Katie douse out that fire real quick and why did Connie not send that implicating video message to her sister, but I guess for dramatic license and suspense these were breezed over. It doesn't distract its entertaining value - it's got a good plot and agreeable acting. Bear in mind this is a Lifetime TV production and, unlike Hollywood blockbuster thrillers, it isn't endowed with a big budget or undergoes countless write-ups. There's a denigrated audience for this fare. Personally, I quite enjoyed it and Ashley Dakin is a sight for sore eyes.
