This movie clearly shows the tribal life in Attappady. The brave girl Muthu (Deepthi Maret) totally changes the Superstitions in between them. All the actors in this movie did their part with full effort. The director late Yadheendra Das had a golden touch. Camera man Prasad Arumugham move the lense around Attappadi to copy the entire beauty of it's nature in a magical way. I have about fourty days experience with the entire crew, felt a homely atmosphere. Now to run the film " Ulkkanal" it needs only good publicity. Hope this film will be an award winning one.

Beautifully captured Attapadi with melodic songs. Ulkkanal has shown the world of the people of Attapadi and their practises of the rituals. This should be watched for the content and message it offers . Sai kumar had been outstanding and played Ooru Moopan well! Ambika Mohan also delivered commendable performances. Mamukoya, Kochu Preman and Nazeer Sankranti also delivered decent wits. Robin Stephen, Jancy, Vismaya, Nikhil and Deepti Maret come in as new faces and played key roles. Songs reminded of the golden era of Malayalam music of the 80s and 90s were excellent. Yatheendradas did a good research to gather the knowledge of the lifestyle of the Attapadi tribes visiting all 190 Ooru's. The film offers real content but could have gained more attention if there were more publicity.
