OK let me begin by stating that I'm reviewing this movie in comparison to other independent micro-budget movies, and not movies in a different league with seemingly endless Hollywood budgets and and a 400+ workforce. For example this vs The Green Mile would throw up a different score/ outcome, however, for what this movie achieves on its budgetary restrictions and DIY approach to film making its competent and bloody good fun! In its genre and league it's a solid 10 in my opinion because...
You get nasty gore, babes (Emily Booth mmmmmm), and 1hr 50 mins that doesn't drag. It's entertainment!
This anthology movie throws different filmmakers into the collective mix and what you witness on the screen varies in cinematic style and quality. As I said, all competent, yet some segments seem to shine slightly brighter than the rest, like 'Snow' which is brutal yet photographed beautifully, and the obvious care and the love for the genre in this one is palpable.
Without spoiling anything plot-wise (yes, there is one, actually, a few) I'll just state that if you like films like V/H/S and The A, B, C's Of Death you'll find enjoyment in Blaze Of Gory.

I watch a lot of indie films, I love finding a new one from a director at a convention and that's where I picked this one up.
I watched each segment and treated them as separate films, this was wise as there isn't really a link to them, not that that was an issue but I think perhaps this should have been 2 volumes with a linking narrative .
That being said it didn't feel as long as it was. Each segment was directed by a diferent director and it shows as they all had a diferent style, some obviously more skilled than others but again this was low budget.
My favourite segment was Monster, a familiar face in the cast and the acting above par compared to the others, lighting and camera was also better in this story, it was gory and the fx were great.
My next favourite was Snow, a dark version of Snow White, this segment I wish had been longer as I quite liked it but felt the characters needed a bit more development.
The other stories were very hit and miss, the gore wasn't quite as gory as I would have expected. Saying it was unrated as well made me expect more.
Nevertheless, given the option to just watch a single story at a time I think this anthology has some rewatchability and I'm glad to have it in my collection.
Lots of violence towards women, some uneasy to watch scenes and of the no to low budget stuff that is out there this is not bad, a lot better than some but worse than others.
If you find it, check it out, but from the filmmakers directly, it's on Etsy, don't buy the overpriced ones on eBay from people blatantly trying to exploit the rarity of this what I guess was a very limited self release.

Anthology movies, especially horror ones are so overdone. There's literally dozens of these so this isn't exactly anything original. The film is strange and dark, disturbing imagery and slick characters filled with deceit and lust. Nice attempt but wished you guys planed together to make one film with one story.
Horror anthology which features nine segments, I wouldn't go as far to call them stories, each one is shot by different directors. With the exception of two these were filmed in the UK, sadly this movie does nothing for British horror. Pretty much each "story" has young women abducted, tortured, sexually abused and/or murdered, only the cast, setting and director differ. The first one "Beer Cellar" was the best but after that it's all downhill. This movie clocks in at a painful 110 minutes, it would have benefited from dropping a few segments and cutting the run time to 90 minutes or less. Gory by name and gory by nature, my DVD is unrated however I have seen BBFC rated films with more splatter than this. The acting is generally very amateur, ranging from acceptable to atrocious, bad actors spouting equally bad scripts. The only actor that I recognised was Martin Hancock, nationally known as eco-warrior Spider in the long running ITV soap "Coronation Street". British Scream Queen Emily Blunt also stars though I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't recognise her, perhaps my brain had been too frazzled by this point! The only things that this dire movie has going for it is the gore, which varies in quality, and plenty of attractive semi-naked young women, expect some very strong language too. As for these 9 and 10 rated reviews my bet is that they were written by people involved with making this crap.
Blaze Of Gory covers a hell of a lot of material here. Some of the tales are great, while most of them are at least okay. Overall, it's a cool indie anthology that has enough gore to keep most entertained. We get everything from kidnappings to abortions to exorcisms to psycho killers. Most bases are covered, but there's always room for more depravity in these anthologies. Blaze Of Gory is one of the more unheard of anthologies. You might want to do yourself a favor and check it out, especially if your into any of the indie anthology entries being released as of late. Overall, the film definitely goes out in a Blaze Of Gory.
