Finally I've found a comedy worth watching. Anne Hathe plays a train-wreck of a mother who finds her self speaking with god. Surrounded by her skeptical friends and family. She tries, in her own innocent and adorably funny way to do gods will.
This is however not a pro- or anti-religious show. The show finds a middle ground in it's hilarious one-liners and well written script.
People might judge the show without seeing it. (I did.) But you definitely need too see a few episodes before you dismiss it. If you do it's a very hard show to dismiss.
I hope this show grows a large following. It deserves it.

Anne Heche gives a very likable and -if you think she's crazy- a very believable performance.
And if you don't think that she's crazy and actually God is talking to her -"What do I call you? Dog. That's God backwards, because that's how you're treating me/behaving"- she's even funnier in her earnestness.
The rest of the cast is also very good, in all of their befuddlement and indecision. Is she crazy? Isn't she? Well, at least she's acting like an adult.
Too bad that the God premise doomed this show from the start, the religious element would not/can not/will not let a show that's slightly irreverent succeed. This show could have been a very good and smartly done one. One without the car chases, the forced drama and the gratuitous sex angles.

I've watched 3 episodes and am a fan. I was skeptical at first but this is a well written, smart, funny show. It reminds me very much of Scrubs from a few years back. The characters are very representative of our post-modern, secular culture. Woven through the irreverent dialog are some very good moral, ethical messages. Anne Heche as the main character Beth who has found God following a traumatic event is comically representative of the modern new believer. Theologically and doctrinally naive she is unabashed in her belief unlike the only other professed believer in the cast who largely sublimates her beliefs in the face of her skeptical peers unbelief. Save Me is a bold entry in the sitcom landscape that has seemed to venerate themes that in prior years would have been considered socially unacceptable. ironically, talking about God in media has become counter cultural. save Me is making it cool again. Give it a shot. You just might be pleasantly surprised.

How refreshing to laugh out loud for a whole show and to have humor that doesn't come from putting someone down. Save Me is just a well written, fast paced show. Anne Heche is so engaging and has perfect timing. Her naivety and energy make her a very lovable character The rest of the cast adds to the frivolity of it and will provide lots of material for future episodes The daughter, Madison Davenport, plays the perfect teenager, with sharp one-liners and eye rolls.
As the He/She god gives messages to Beth Harper we are all forced to think about how we would respond and are then surprised by some of the twists the show takes
We've been telling everyone about it because who can't use a good laugh?! Hope you enjoy it, too!

Beth gets a second chance at life, family, and friends after she accidentally chokes on a sandwich. God has intervened and helped this misguided, alcoholic, joke of the neighborhood, become the person she has always wished she was.
As someone who has nothing up with religion, I was skeptical to watch this Series. The mainly reason to watch it, was for Anne Heche. This is however not a pro- or anti-religious show. The show dares to bring God into the storyline, but with a contemporary approach. The moral and ethical messages are funny and light carried out.
Heche shows her outstanding comedic timing and facial mimic in this Show. She makes an unlikely character touchy and believable. The rest of the cast are not in her league, but the acting is more than decent.
Especially the first 3-4 episode are funny and well written from then on the director is rushing through the story and the show gets less enjoyable. The show is fast paced and the format of 20- 25 minutes suits it well. This comedy is different but better than the average sit-com.
