Interesting but missing something

This show has lots of potential. The casting and acting are both great. I also really liked the pacing, it wasn't too slow. The concept of this series is also something really interesting. Watching this show was quite relaxing, it was nice seeing something new and fresh for the first time in a while. I did also like the chemistry and the friendship between the characters.

Even though the concept itself is interesting, the plot is weak in my opinion. I was relaxed while watching this, but I was left wanting more excitement. Something that would have really pulled me in. For me, that spark was just missing.

Ride or die

The story centres around four friends who work in the fashion industry and have supported each other over the years. It is a well acted upbeat story which is why I marked it a seven but the plot is a little weak and predictable. The nicest character in the whole series was the chaebol who was cheated on by one of the group yet still supported her in her endeavours. If you want a lighthearted upbeat story of four friends who are all successful then it is worth a watch as it only lasts eight episodes and some of them are amusing. The highlight of the series for me is Chae Soo-bin as even though I was not a fan of her character she lights up the screen in every take.

Why

When a Korean drama aspire to become American-Koran fusion drama = not good.

The actors played very well even though the writing was basic.

If you already watched American drama's before in your life, you've already seen this plot. Nothing new.

Wasn't boring, but definitely basic and predictable. Like many many others American series.

Even though the production was extremely good and wealthy, Netflix failed at the end.

In my opinion, when I want to see Korean drama, I don't want to see American basic one. K-drama is so different, unique, with romance and great characters, If I wanted to watch this kind of plot, I would choose "The bold type".

Ji-eun in Seoul

Could be the name of this lil' K-Drama 8 episode series. It's very similar to, "Emily in Paris", with Chae Soo-bin playing the lead character. It's the reason we watched this series after seeing her in, "Where Stars Land", a highly recommended series and plays a similar character. Surprised it was only 8 episodes, thought it could have gone on for the usual 16 episodes, especially with 4 main characters, it could have explored their backgrounds in much more detail, but it revolved mainly around Chae Soon-bin character, who has the customary more than one suitor, trying to juggle her work life with her love lives and they intertwined on a regular basis.

Good entertainment. More Realistic than typical korean rom coms. Intimacy and relationships shown as they are in real life.

I think this was good and entertaining. I am a super fan of kdrama and how unique they portray romantic relationships and how they have a big taboo with intimacy and sex BUT we all know how unrealistic and false that is and that's not how real life its.

I liked this drama actually showing the struggle of real people with real problems. People are passionate, have relationships and they are confused a lot when it comes to love. You won't find here the overused kdrama plots of "only one love for life", or "i am 30 but i have never kissed someone", which are just unrealistic clichés.

I have seen that this drama is not getting high ratings from asian viewers because of the more conservative mindset and taboos, but I think they would need to understand casual relationships, cheating and sex happens everywhere all the time, is just that some cultures hide it and shame it and others are more open about it. I prefer the later so I love this kind of shows.

The only downside for me is the main couple plot was a bit weak sometimes, I think it had more potential and they could have dig deeper into their backstory. But overall good chemistry. Minho is not what you could say is a great actor but for this short drama he did good ( and he is just such an eye candy .....)

Watch it this Christmas for something light to enjoy!

Light Kdrama viewing

This is easy-mode version of a Kdrama. Nothing too sophisticated nor tense. Just a gentle view thru the eyes of 4 friends since college: one a Super Model, one a rising designer, one a photographer and one working for a luxury fashion PR firm.

I had issues with the first half of the series...it wasn't bad just not very engaging. It just plodded along with the lives of these 4 friends. The romance threads were minimal, there was no mystery to solve or suspense thread being developed...just the lives of the main characters.

But finally, ep 4 introduces a new character that seems to kick start the series. Various interesting storylines are kicked off and the character development finally shifts out of neutral.... I could finally start caring about the main characters.

One thing I really liked about the series was that it was not filled with toxic side-characters. While there were certainly a few self-absorbed characters to dislike, most of the characters in power positions were actually decent people that would recognize talent and provide opportunities for newcomers to demonstrate what they could do.

Makes a decent palate cleanse between more sophisticated or intense Kdramas.

A drama worth watching

I loved watching this drama. Acting is good from almost everyone. It has elements of great friendship, love, fashion and slice of life. No unnecessary filler episode to disappoint me . You can easily binge-watch. Personally I would love to see more. Both Woo-min and Seonho are really beautiful characters. And, both the artist did an amazing job portraying those characters. I also loved the chemistry of leads. I would definitely watch this drama again and recommend it to others. This drama is perfect for holiday season though it hasn't any holiday elements in it. Happy watching The Fabulous people.

Terrible execution!

The execution of this particular endeavor was abysmal. The project failed to deliver, in fact, it was impossible to deliver. Inadequate planning and implementation led to a disjointed and unsatisfying outcome, with critical elements falling short of expectations. It's regrettable that such a concept exists, only resulting in a disappointing experience for those involved. Overall, the execution of this endeavor can only be described as a failure, failing to live up to even the most modest of expectations. Highly un-recommended to anyone and everyone. You better off go and watch a paint dry for a better experience.

Fun drama to binge

Its really a fun drama to binge. Something light hearted, great to relax while watching after work. It focuses on four individual young professionals facing problems in their personal and professional life. It is extremely relatable with all the curve balls life throw at them unexpectedly.

The romantic sub plots were also very sweet and heart warming but more realistic than regular kdramas. I also like that one of the main characters is LQBTQ+.

The only thing I wish they had improved on was reducing the number of side characters. Main characters were great and I wish they were the only focus of the show.

Not enough

I don't understand why people said the drama was saved by Min Ho.. because they are fan?

I do understand the love they can have for him, but for me he was totally disastrous.

He had the same face from the start to the end.

His acting was so poor, I seriously enjoy better his character in the drama Hwarang.

The drama story was good but not enough developed. The heroin personality was also too cliché.

I do think that Lee Sang-woon (Joseph) is the character and the person who saved the drama.

I did like the fashion show, and it would be great if it was more explored.

That time, supports characters were better than main characters.

A k-drama with less drama and great option when you just want to relax your mind

I loved this show for the same reason that I loved Hospital Playlist. It's so real without it being over dramatic with villains and bunch of unnecessary obstacles for the hero and heroine. It does justice for showing the unseen hard work behind the fashion industry not just the model or the fashion designer. The duration of 8 episodes are perfect for the plot and the characteristics being shown. It's a relaxing show, where you can just enjoy the characters, acting and the vibe of the plot. No intense emotions or criticality. The good thing is every character was given their own important screen time without being overshadowed by a particular "hero" or "heroine". It was just like what happens in real life. Happy ending for some, not so happy ending for some, beginning of new journey for some and uncertainties in life for some.

Best chemistry

I love the camping and bathroom scenes, and when the fl kicked the ml when the four of them gather at her house. Their chemistry is top notch, so natural, and makes you want what they have. It makes you forget for a moment that you're watching a drama. And i love the male lead's changing expressions throughout the episodes. Conveying his emotions without lines. Thumbs up. I plan to watch it slowly, but ended watched all episodes all at once. And also the scenes with her grandma is lovely. Love the cinematography.

I have so many questions about the male lead's background story. How wealthy is he living in that nice apartment and having that nice red car? How he's good at DJing? I want to see him explaining some pictures with some technical words. I want to see more about his relationship with the second fl. Does Netflix keeps these for Season 2? I have to watch again for the third time.

Despite how i enjoy the friendship's story, some characters are not needed, with all due respect to the actors. (Weird waiter turned model?) Without them, the story will be more compact and focused on the main story without unnecessary distractions.

Lovely drama. A must watch for holidays and weekends.

Not Good Enough

Korean Drama " The Fabulous " has pretty colours and bright lights, but no story.

The drama focuses too much on the love story, which was boring and had no pace, while the love triangle was cheesy and cliche. And, unfortunately, it stole too much screentime that could had been used for the story between the four friends, which was more interesting and refreshing compared to the love story.

Also, the fashion industry was portrayed with too many stereotypes and never broke through them to make a more youthful, up to date, version of it.

On the other hand, the clothes were pretty and the performances enjoyable, though the leads had annoying characters.

So, overall, three out of ten.

Not So Fabulous

Even though this series was only 8 episodes it was still too long. The plot was not tight. So many side stories were not that interesting. I don't know why they had the young male model in there when it went nowhere. A lot of the time I was confused or just not caring about these superficial characters & their lives.

The ML, Min-ho, is attractive & yes they like for him to have his shirt off, but can he really portray a range of emotions. The FL did not impress me from the start when she was jumping into bed with the ML while she had a boyfriend. I was glad he dumped her but sad he came back. She was not to be trusted.

Park Heejung, the supermodel, was impressive in her presence. At least she would know what it was like in the fashion world. The other people at the agencies all seemed to be lacking in some ways. It was great to see some of the fashion at least.

I wish it was fabulous but I can only say it was mediocre.

Its okay, nothing fancy

Actually this was the first Korean "Drama" (it has almost nothing to do with Drama, for me its 2/10 when it comes to the Drama part. The only thing here being dramatic are the relationship scenes) that I watched while doing something. I couldn't concetrate on the series cause it just didn't catch me. Its very short with 8 episodes but feels sooo long. The Model "Side Character" (can't remember her name atm) was the best part of the show for me. She has a strong personality and thats what I like.

But the rest of the show didn't really make sense and for the drama part it was boring. Maybe cause I'm used to more drama this wasn't my cup of tea but thats okay. Overall this show was kind of refreshing and had potential but the boring parts just ruined it for me. I also watched it on Netflix with German Synchro, the Synchro Voices weren't fitting so that wasn't good either.

I don't know if I would recommend this.

Refreshing and realistic and chemistry 10/10

Loved every second of it it was so refreshing and has a lot of strong female characters and realistic love story.

Minho did a great job playing a woomin he was not the typical kind of male lead so a lot of kdrama clichés weren't in his character, at first you got the feeling that he's selfish and careless but through the drama you can see how much caring and fall of love woomin is .

Soobin also did a fantastic job with her character she was independent, strong at the same time elegant and pretty and most importantly didn't need any man's help to reach your goals.

Minho and soobin's chemistry was 10/10 for me their scenes were so cut and so hot at the same time I loved how their hugs were so natural like they're belong to each other's arms There is also a strong representation of queer characters which is not something we can see a lot in Kdrama I really recommend this drama for anyone who wants a refreshing And fun.

I enjoyed it..!

If you are looking for something fresh and cool you will enjoy this drama. Every character is interesting and the main couple is so cute, you can see Choi Minho and Chae Soobin have a good chemestry. Also the friendship of the 4 friends is adorable, I will really miss Joseph, Seon-ho, Ji-eun and Woo-min. I really enjoyed the drama so much because of them.

Finally, it was really nice to see Minho in a lead role again, he did a good job as Woo-min. Hopefully there will be more oprtunities to see him in other projects.

My punctuation in general is 10/10. The acting, the plot, the soundtrack and cinematography was really nice and I'm planing to watch it again with my friends.

Refreshing slash of life drama for fashion lovers

This drama is not for everyone, the story structure is not common and might feel "boring" for people that look for usual stories.

The plot is NOT centered on the romantic relationships but rather on the journey of finding a career within the fashion industry, as well as the sacrifices and challenges that the path demands. There is love in the drama but not solely romantic, you can feel the love and appreciation that the characters have for each other as they support each other in ups and downs.

I love that the romantic scenes are realistic and mature and are not afraid of showing different views and types of love.

The acting is incredible and the designs are amazing. The humor is original and the soundtrack is great.

It was indeed FABULOUS.

Definitely worth watching ❤

It was indeed Fabulous!

Loved this drama! It's something that you can totally watch especially this season. It has its dramatic moments and I did cry several times but Iver all this is a light watch. I don't know if we all had a great love in our lives but I think it's fair to day that we all have our best friends and this show is all about that. The four central characters here are so relatable and there were moments where I actually thought of specific points in my life where I did feel what these characters are feelings. It's fun, dramatic, cute and sexy! Yup don't be deceived by the "light hearted " part. It's a drama about adults with adult problems and events. There were some steamy scenes but I guess that is normal with adults🤣 I enjoyed it overall and the beautiful people and the fashion are of course the icing on the cake.

Fabulous Ride Or Die Dream - Fun Series to Watch

The theme of this short 8 episode K-Drama is Ride Or Die Dream as a group of co-workers, who are both friends and lovers, each fulfill their individual seperate dream at the same time forming a team to fulfill their team and main designer's dream by doing their job to the best of their abilities and staying true to themselves at the same time which isn't easy in the industry of fashion. It is fun to watch and fun to watch the fashion element of the show as well. My favorite actor is the male lead Minho who really makes the series for me. He plays the photographer who has a special talent for retouching photographs. The female lead did a great job as well who is the PR agent part of the team. They had a past romantic relationship that broke up and now they ran into each other again and happen to be working together.

Light and refreshing; quite binge able drama.

A fresh and lighthearted drama with a beautifully executed simplistic plot. The drama gives off positive vibes through the top notch chemistry of the lead characters, vibrant and colorful settings, last but not the least: effortless flow of the storyline, therefore making this drama binge-able. (A DELICIOUS MAKEOUT SCENE IS ALWAYS A PLUS)

AND OF COURSE, sometimes all we just need a romcom centered around love and friendship to make our day. <3.

However, a little more emphasis on the characters backstory, and more focus on the character development of the leads -especially that of the male lead Ji Woomin (Choi Minho) - would have made this drama more memorable and worthy of a 10.
