Avis à la une
This film started out as a very satisfying murder mystery film with a few jump scares to keep the viewers attention, which isn't really even needed because its very interesting. The performances of the actors were great in the first half but didn't last with the exception of Simon Quarterman who plays Gavin in the film, he's a great throughout. But as I stated the last 40 minutes of the film were a let down to me. The film becomes a pretty generic found footage-esque slasher flick that isn't as interesting or unique as the team trying to figure out who or what did what was done like the premise in the first half.
Overall Id give the first half a 8/10 And the second half 5/10
First review I tried to be as vague as possible about the plot of the movie.

First review I tried to be as vague as possible about the plot of the movie.
I found the trailer on Youtube and was instantly intrigued. After finally tracking down a copy (due to no release date for cinema or Home-media release), I sat and watched what I consider to be one of the best found-footage movies of recent times.
Story wise, it starts off well and then just ramps up the tension superbly. Although there were a few scenes that I could guess what was coming, most of the film was pleasantly surprising.
The movie is not excessively gory, but it does have it where it matters! The effects were limited, but used to very good effect, and the whole found-footage genre lends itself to lower budget movies anyway.
The casting was spot on. The central character Talan, (Brian Scott O'Connor) was really well played. Although he seemed harmless initially, I could almost feel a sense of menace coming from him, and the other characters were played just right. (Although I couldn't help thinking about Vik Sahay (Eric) as his character from the TV show Chuck!)
Overall, a nice take on the genre with decent performances all round. Well worth a watch, and I will definitely get it if it is released on Blu-ray/DVD in the UK.

Movie remains somewhat around the average mark despite being pretty dumb however then at the end it blows up. It feels like the director decides NOW IM GONNA TANK IT. Honestly, it seem deliberate. The bad guy, whos strength is physical combat is standing surrounded by special forces police at a distance of 10 meters or so. They get the go ahead take him out. What happens next?
They start RUNNING at the bad guy WITH RIFLES in their hands. One by one. Not shooting him. RUNNING at him, to do what nobody knows, until contact and then when they reach him he kills them or throws them away.
I dont know what else to say.
considering i am a horror fan i tend to be very critical of horror mostly because it's fun to find that gem amongst the rubble. but this movie was just shear brilliance. an awesome retelling of the werewolf story...if this had been seen by more people, it would have redefined and revived the werewolf genre. this movie would have done what the walking dead series did to zombies but on a movie scale. the violence and rage portrayed reminded me of the infected in 28 days later... but with hair all over. the story itself starts out with a thriller feel with a found footage style look. half the story is basically a mystery thriller until you hit the halfway point of the movie and thats when the fit hits the shan, and you are treated to fast paced non stop violent rage filled action for nearly the rest of the movie. i can say nothing bad about this movie, if your into horror ...treat yourself with this movie.
If only the film was devoid of the shaky cam/found footage stuff.
I saw this on a dvd which I own in 2014. Felt like reviewing it now since i am more active on imdb currently. Was reluctant to buy the dvd as i cannot stand found footage and hand held shaky cam stuff but the good reviews on IMDb prompted me to go ahead.
The film begins showing a family being brutally attacked by something unknown. The surviving member recounts a story of something resembling a tall, hairy man with huge hands that attacked the family......
The movie first starts as an investigative thriller with suspense n mystery. Later the movie turns into an excellent creature on the loose n full blown action flick.
The special effects and makeup are first-rate. The werewolf attack scenes are frightening n gruesome.
The movie is loaded with gruesome killings, the mutilated bodies' of the victims and the threatening figure of a gigantic beast on the loose is full of tension n mayhem.
The beast in this movie is fast, vicious and has a nasty tendency of tearing off its victims' bottom jaw.
The explanation given in the movie for the creature/transformation is something new.

- GaffesWhen Gavin is shaving himself of his hair, the last thing he shaves is his left eyebrow, but in the next, cut-to scene when he starts looking up into the mirror, the eyebrow is unshaven, and the same for when he starts screaming into the mirror in the next shot.
