Flipping Boston

This post contains an email that I have sent to both Peter and David. I posted this on their Facebook pages as well. David keeps removing my comments and has not addressed them which is even more suspicious.

I AM LIVID WITH YOU AND DAVE!!! I became fans of yours from watching your television show. When I got the invitation to go to one of your seminars, I was thrilled. My brother and I both signed up for the seminar. Based on your communications, we felt very confident that we would be seeing you both there to do the presentation. We both feel like we were intentionally deceived by the way your seminar information was sent out. We both made arrangements to go to this seminar. When we walked into the hotel, there was a large sign with you both on it-prominently displayed- directing us to where the seminar would be held. We got to the seminar early and got signed in. Then, a man named Mark came up and introduced himself as the instructor. I thought "what?". So, I went up to another gentleman and asked point blank if you and Dave were going to be there. I was told no. I promptly gathered up my things and my brother and I left. We came specifically to see you both. At no time did your communications say that other people would be conducting the seminar. We feel you are misrepresenting these seminars. I took time out of my day and life to drive somewhere to see you both only to find out you were not going to be there. THAT IS SO RUDE AND INCONSIDERATE. Now, I'm not sure I will be watching your show again. I am so very, very disappointed in your both for treating your fans like this. Now, every time I see you both on television, I will be reminded of today with this inconsideration and misrepresentation. I will never recommend to anyone to go to one of these seminars, in fact, it will be just the opposite.

We went out to Boston for a 3 day Inner Circle seminar with Peter and Dave. Yes, they were actually there. Learned a lot of useful information and solid ethical guidance. One of the things they shared was when they meet with someone who is a short sale candidate due to being 6 mo. Late and have stopped paying their mortgages, they first try to help the homeowner. They advise them to take a loan modification option if available because that will make it affordable for them to stay in their home. This is refreshingly different from a lot of shady investors who would use someone's desperate circumstances to take advantage of them with a lowball offer. As they say "We don't try to convince people out of their homes. You have to treat people well." Here are other things they stressed: Never cut corners.

Operate with Safety, Honesty, Decency, Integrity, and DO THE RIGHT THING.

Do what you say and do what you are going to do.

Money is not everything so don't give it all the credit.

Balance is the key.

Being successful at what you do must not come at the expense of your loved ones.

We were one of the thousands of Real Estate Investors who got scammed by Zurixx, and just received a small FTC check as part of the settlement Zurixx agreed to pay out. Thankfully, Peter and Dave really did deliver and I'm sure based on how they operate that they must have distanced themselves from the now defunct Zurixx et al.

I think they are strictly entertainment. I lived in Boston and none of them have a Boston accent. They are phoney. They are not worth watching. Make them real or take them off the air. I was looking forward to watching them having lived there. I do not intend to watch them again.

In the few weeks I've been watching the show I've learned more about the raw side of renovations than I have from any other home improvement program except for "This Old House," and, from living through one. I place "Flipping Boston" right up there beside TOH for being informative, genuine, funny, and thoughtful. Many shows feel too scripted, have too much hokey dumb stuff supported by their bloopers. "Flipping Boston" doesn't have that feel (even if it is scripted). When they get ticked, I want to get out of the way. When they are interested, I'm interested. When a wall comes down, I want a dust mask...that's how real the show is. There are things I see on "Flipping Boston" that I've never seen or even heard of on the hundreds of hours of watching home improvement shows (except for TOH on PBS). This show is a winner.

Love the Show. The entire cast seem to be very good at what they do both for the show and for the house they flip. I think I have seen every episode at least three times - drives my wife crazy. Keep the show going - love it. The only problem I have is Dave and Peter ask for investors, but you have to have minimum of $100,000.00 to invest - just wish they would/could take a little less. Maybe flip some less expensive houses so smaller investors can makes some money also, and then they too would be able to invest in larger projects. This is (to me) the best show of it's kind on TV. I hope they continue the series for at least another ten years. Also, wish I had enough money to invest with Dave and Petah. Maybe one day. P.S. Go Pats
