It had potential, and didn't reach it.

Although this show was generally likable, it has a lot of repetitiveness, and circles the same characters and their slightly dramatic interpersonal matters too frequently - recycling them a whole, whole lot.

Most of the acting is fairly good. Unfortunately, the character development is too shallow across the board.

The lead isn't given a lot of emotional range to display. She literally never gets angry, she just accepts and withstands and breezes right past things. One can't understand her personal motivations to either achieve in her career, or to mess things up in her personal life, because very low insight is offered. It's another generalized shame parade for a character like her, and then she just plows through, taking things in stride and offering more distancing to her reality than anything else.

This show also doesn't display much of 'justice', in terms of outcomes - no criminal prosecutions are depicted for the large majority of the production, and almost everything done in the pursuit of 'law enforcement' turns out to be a pointless fail. They are regularly putting more people in jeopardy than they offer functional protection to. (Too real, perhaps?)

It also has a thinly veiled anti-abortion narrative, partially delivered by a child, which is really a grasping effort.

It features an elderly paternal figure that applies judgement and advice inappropriately, for almost any scene he's acting poorly in. He's on the outside of everything - actions, conversations, factual details, but thinks his own personal wisdom makes his warrantless criticisms and blunt advice somehow functional, or helpful.

Shows that build around a 'strong female lead' of reproductive age should not still be leaning into a parade of criticisms against her and her 'shame' - to which she isn't very reactive, because she 'has hard job'. This is a sorry cop-out, not to make a pun, that keeps getting repeated, almost nauseatingly.

Lastly, a little more leavening humor (sans sex or death references) would've helped.

Was the two year wait worth it? Maybe?

I remember this being announced back in 2022, and their was heaps of great actors attached to this and it sounded like an interesting series.

Channel 9 really should put more effort in every show they make, their last few really show. I mean I watched this from my motel room in Sweden and I thought it was a bit strange for it not to be shown in it's country of origin first? But oh well, great to see an Aussie show abroad!

The one highlight of this was seeing Leeanna Walsman on screen again, she was brilliant in this in her return to the small screen, given how heavy the dialogue in the script is, and spotting a great amount of familiar faces as well, that was great too!. Points go to the shots of the city and the cinematography.

If you love crime dramas this is for you. If you waited two years to watch this said crime drama, great patience, go gently into the series, with fresh eyes.

Was the two year wait for the show worth it? Yes and no, but mostly yes, since Leeanna holds her own very well and the support cast are quite good as well.

competent, fans will be pleased

Competent. Fans of police procedurals will be overall pleased with this Aussie offering. It checks all the boxes. Even checks a box that wasn't on the list. Decades ago, the timeless US actress Susan Sarandan, in an interview, commented that her biggest challenge was playing against herself, she was too pretty to be taken seriously. Today -- when casting good-looking female leads for crime shows has become de rigueur -- we note that newbies tuning into HUMAN ERROR 2024 might glance at Leeanna Walsman and mistakenly believe they are watching a Michelle Pfeiffer biopic. It is a subliminal thing, but, don't forget, most viewship is based entirely on subliminal cues. ((Designated "IMDb Top Reviewer." As you value your life and reason...

So I've came into this show after barely slogging through the first episode of a Scandinavian drama more dull than watching paint dry, and this was an Australian production so it looked bright and modern and there were beautiful city views that I'm not familiar with, and it looked so promising story-wise.

It wasn't. In any way that matters.

The story, the plot, the twists and turns of an exciting criminal investigation, all are nowhere to be found. The story developed like something you'd watch on TV news, but there's a way to make stories like this compelling. This show fails in that.

Another unbearable thing is the interpersonal relationship - it feels like the writers heard that people on crime TV shows converse about things other than work, and peppered the plot with unbearable, boring drivel that helped with nothing and had no relation to anything.

This show feels like it was written by a computer. The only saving grace is the lead actress, who tried to bring life into this flogged horse.

My advice, don't bother.

Great series

Human Error is a compelling drama series that kept me hooked from the very first episode. The plot is well-crafted, blending suspense, intrigue, and emotional depth, making it easy to binge-watch. The actors delivered outstanding performances, each bringing their characters to life in a way that felt authentic and relatable. The pacing of the series is spot on, with each episode ending on a cliffhanger, leaving you eager for more. Overall, it's a well-executed series with strong character development and a gripping storyline that holds your attention throughout. Highly recommend!" Cannot wait for season two.

... another solid offering from our friends afar

... there are quite many believing crime dramas and relationship dramas are genres should never get mixed together, both should-must always be-remain kept separate... here in this production there's slightly more crime, yet quite a bit of personal relationship storylines are woven-in-included... for those not minding it's quite well done and no bother at all... and with many familiar faces from the down under acting community, the show's well supported by highly proficient character actors

... script-writing could be a weakness for some, for one of the important storylines raises issues that do not get resolved, least not fully in this premier season, leading us all to believe there will at minimum be another season series, or another was least planned-for-anticipated... just as in life, this issue involved could go several differing ways, none of which would be satisfactory to all the show's characters or audiences watching ... looking hopefully forward to next season's happenings

... continually throughout this first season, the glaring script omission is 'why'... obviously answer most would indicate being age, getting an unplanned-opportunity probably-not to-be-presenting itself again... for having to expose oneself (and others close) through all the scrutiny-criticism from work colleagues and social relationships... stares-whispers surrounding this new-unexpected extramarital long-term-commitment are to be daunting for sure... not now remembering seeing this scenario being approached-tackled in a TV script previously, should make for quite-intriguing-viewing, detailed-handled-well throughout the next season series.

A really long wait for Mutton dressed as lamb

After a long wait this rubbish presented itself, some well known actors have downed their careers being a part of this dribble. This show is based on the Jane Thurgood-Dove murder is poor acting at its finest, not believable at all, I realise that restrictions are in place for actors portraying police, but the actors aren't a good fit , didnt act like police, the whole look of a detective is made laughable, if the actors had some guidance in being a cop this show would have been so much more realistic but the poor lines and acting don't help, there were not enough police present during major arrest or shooting scenes, thst made it look lame too , story lines are so all over the shop, it's hard to follow, hopefully the next cop show Ch9 put up can redeem them.

I think underbelly or blue heelers did better when they were around, sorry to write such bad review, but being involved in real police situations im very critical about being realistic.

Perfect balance for a Crime-Drama

As a police procedural, 'Human Error' delivers the 'full package' plus more, without sacrificing from emotional depth and character complexity by drama standards...so hats off to that! And so very talented Leanne Walsman makes it all to easy, natural, relatable and lovable in her portrayal of the lead. Very well written scenario as well as witty dialogues. It's so refreshing to see less beurocratical nonsense as it eases irrelevant tension. I also found family members and their interaction adorable. More, I totally applaud creators for keeping 'Confession of an extra marital affair' and subsequent phase of 'splitting' drama to minimum while maintaining mature, realistic and sensible tone.

Gripping crime show that leaves you satisfied in more levels than one as you yearn for more especially after the last cliffhanger. Hope second season will Not be cancelled as we're already craving for more.

Just a serious ERROR!

Right, it seems that Australians stick to the same formula with producing the same generic detective homicide show. Trying so hard to mimic American style shows but miserably fails! The lead character just doesn't carry the story and some awkward casting with supporting the cast. Just never drawn to any of the characters as they felt flat and manufactured. You could tell they were reciting lines!

Very frustrating to watch and very predictable stories. The cinematography was wonderful, I must say with great open shots. Overall this was a difficult series to watch let alone finish.

If you're looking for another generic police show! Watch NCIS Sydney!

Ridiculous plot full of holes and unnecessary twists.

I don't know why I actually sat through all six episodes of this show, with its endless plot twists held together by the finest thread, all with impeccable timing and implausible guesses that turned into leads, which then weren't leads after all. The only highlight for me was Steve Peacocke, the rest was utterly forgettable.
