I loved this! I thought it was going to be a seres but just realized it's only a movie. I'm sad. I don't like Lifetime that much but this would make me watch the network. I loved Reba and I thought this would be the same. It has Reba's humor Aston a drama. I love who they had for the cast. I was worried at the beginning due to the acting from the policeman that pulled her over for speeding. His acting was terrible. The type that normally comes from lifetime movies. But the rest of the story picked up pretty quickly. I love that it has. Rex Linn and. Melissa Petterman in it. This has so much potential to be a series.
This is the first episode of what should be a series. One that I will watch as a series. Netflix needs to pick this up and run with it. I love how the actors came together in the end and helped each other after such a disjointed beginning.
It was a movie that left you wanting to watch the next episode but not worth watching as a movie itself.
Loved the characters but it left me eating more, whether it be more resolution or more of them in general I can't tell, just more.
Murder mystery is something none of us can get enough of, so please someone make this into a series that I can binge watch when I need a good laugh and a good dose of Reba.

So is Reba holding out on making this a series of movies or just a series, or is it Lifetime? I keep looking for the next one to show up, yet nothing so far!
The Hammer started out at a good speed but the ending of the movie was way too rushed as if they ran out of time and wanted to pack in the solution to the crime and the ending all in 15 minutes. Which was Not a good idea.
The ending did leave open the possibility for many future plots and directions that the Hammer could take, and which would capture a viewer audience. Me and my friends and family would watch a The Hammer series or future movies, as would everyone else. So get on with it Lifetime, or Reba! We want more!

This was a fabulous movie. I loved the down home country expressions and story lines. Watching the movie made me look up more information and I found that the movie is based on a real traveling judge who covers this territory. Between the judge's new appointment as a judge, as well as Judge Wheeler's history with that territory, this movie was quite interesting.
I don't want to say too much about the story lines because I don't want to give anything away, but, when the movie was over, it made me wish this was a series rather than a movie. I hope they make more! (If they do make more movies, please do Reba's hair differently.)

Loved this movie. Always been a fan of Reba and she didn't disappoint. The rest of the cast was excellent. The movie really was written like it was a pilot episode for a series. When I first heard about Reba starring in The Hammer I just assumed it was a series and was surprised to find out it was a movie. I really hope that it becomes a series on a network or a series of movies.
It would really be a shame to be a one of movie because the characters were great and there is a built in fan base having Reba as the lead.
It was also fun to see Reba acting with Melissa Peterman again and the inclusion of her real life boyfriend , Rex Linn.

- AnecdotesThis movie reunites Reba with Melissa Peterman (Barbara Jean/BJ) from Reba (2001) and features Reba's significant other, Rex Linn.
- GaffesThe movie is set in Nevada, but the Hotel Coldwater is located in British Columbia. The Canadian flag flies on the roof in the shots where Judge Wheeler is making breakfast in the parking lot.
