Successful neurosurgeon Maggie Sullivan is struggling after getting arrested. Even after the charges are dropped, she runs back to her hometown in Nova Scotia to stay with her estranged father Sully. Cal Jones is Sully's hot assistant.

Maggie wants to go back to Boston, but a new lawsuit threatens her medical license. Her lawyer tells her to stay out of sight. She's stuck. An elderly neighbor suffering dementia hits his head in a fall. Her boyfriend Andrew arrives.
