The Bear is an ongoing dramedy series that focuses on a struggling restaurant and its crew of ragtag cooks.

Carmy Berzatto, a big-time fancy chef who returned to Chicago to take over his deceased brother's business, heads up The Bear, formerly The Beef.

The Bear appeared on FX and Hulu in 2022, with The Bear Season 3 available for streaming on Hulu as of June 27, 2024.

The Bear isn't just the name of the series and the newly revamped Chicago restaurant.

Abby Elliott has come a long way since her "Saturday Night Live" days. Since leaving the sketch comedy series in 2012, Abby has landed the sitcoms "Odd Mom Out" and "Indebted," as well as films like "Sex Ed" and "Better Off Single." Currently, she stars in the award-winning series "The Bear." In the show, Abby plays Natalie "Sugar" Berzatto, who is the coowner of The Beef restaurant. "It's really exciting to be a part of something that has touched so many people," Abby said about her involvement on the show during an August 2022 episode of "The Last Laugh" podcast. "[It's the first time I've been a] part of a project that people have really responded to in this sort of way."

Weddings bells will soon be ringing for Keegan-Michael Key.

The Key and Peele star is engaged to his girlfriend, Hollywood producer and director Elisa Pugliese, a rep for the actor confirmed to E! News.

Key, 46, and Pugliese have kept their romance largely out of the public eye, though the two have attended events together, including the U.S. Open this year and the Rescue Dinner hosted by IRC in New York City earlier this month.

The duo also stepped out during 2017 Emmys weekend, as well as this year’s Tony Awards and BAFTA Tea Party event.

Another bad weekend where nothing really popped, which is bad news for a month at the box office where only Clint Eastwood’s Sully exceeded any expectations. Tim Burton’s new film Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children came out just below my predictions with $29 million, but the Mark Wahlberg-Peter Berg disaster flick Deepwater Horizon was right around where I predicted with $20.2 million. The comedy Masterminds tanked with just $6.5 million for the weekend to end up in sixth place while Disney’s The Queen of Katwe did slightly better than predicted with $2.5 million.

– Oscilloscope Laboratories has announced that it has acquired North American rights to Bill Ross and Turner Ross’s latest documentary featuring and produced by David Byrne, “Contemporary Color.” The film premiered at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival, where it won awards for Best Documentary Cinematography and Best Documentary Editing.

The film’s camera operators included many well-known documentary directors and cinematographers, including Jarred Alterman, Sean Price Williams, Robert Greene, Amanda Rose Wilder, Jessica Oreck, Wyatt Garfield and Michael Palmieri. Oscilloscope will release the film in theaters in 2017 followed by a release across all ancillary platforms.

Untitled Spielberg Cold War Thriller

Kal Penn has been added to the cast of Stereotypically You.

The Harold and Kumar and House actor has also committed to the film Outliving Emily.

Penn will film both movies this summer while he is on a break from Vince Gilligan's upcoming series Battle Creek, Deadline reports.

In Stereotypically You, Penn will portray a womaniser opposite SNL's Abby Elliott and Men at Work's Kelen Coleman.

Filming is slated to begin next week in New York.

Later this summer, Penn will then board the drama Outliving Emily, the story of one couple's marriage over half a century.

Gilmore Girls' Alexis Bledel, Zosia Mamet of Girls and Amityville Thomas Mann also star.

Kal Penn, who stars in the CBS mid-season series Battle Creek from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, has signed on for two indie comedies, Stereotypically You and Outliving Emily.

Stereotypically You centers on Charlie Carroll (Aaron Tveit), who loses his job and his girlfriend on the same day, as he goes on a journey of self-discover. Kal Penn will play a serial womanizer in the dating comedy, which also stars Lauren Miller, Cloris Leachman, Abby Elliott and Kelen Coleman. Benjamin Cox is directing from his own screenplay, with production scheduled to begin in New York City next week.

Outliving Emily is an ensemble that follows the 50 year marriage of Tim and Emily Hanratty through a series of six vignettes.
