Olho no Olho

Directors Noilton Nunes, Sérgio Péo and Sérgio Santeiro discuss their views on a 1976 law which regulated that Brazilian short films should be exhibed previous to any feature film released on theaters. At first it seems a critical piece complaining about the law but it's actually a favorable discussion of this old bill that existed and was mandatory for cinemas to show short films to support the Brazilian film industry, aspiring filmmakers like they were back at that time and made the public aware of the quality of our cinema.

It doesn't happen anymore, it's not a rule anymore which in some ways it's critical to young filmmakers and even veterans when it comes to presenting new short films outisde of awards events destined to such creations. But on the other hand, some of them are available on social platforms or YouTube where they can find a new life with countless viewers. I didn't find much of a great project and didn't remembered most of what was discussed with those guys. But it was a good topic to be debated, it shows their own personal experiences as directors of short films so they have the wider scope of this controversy. Guess one can learn a lot about the issue. 7/10.
