Prequels are presented with the daunting task of living up to the hype of the main series while trying to expand its lore. While most prequel series fail in one of these tasks, a few prequels are balanced perfectly. Furuhashi’s My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is one such prequel that builds its world while enriching the pre-established lore of My Hero Academia. The series is a masterclass in storytelling that has both quality and emotional resonance.
If you agree with us and want to see more such prequels that are just as good as My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, then fear not, because We Are Here! Here are 5 prequels that are just as good as Vigilantes, in no particular order.

Demon Slayer is one of the biggest global phenomena in recent years, and there is no doubt that one of the main reasons for the franchise's success has been its anime adaptation by Studio Ufotable, which features one of the most stunning animations in the medium. But more than praises, this has become an aspect used to belittle the series, since many viewers claim that Demon Slayer's high-quality animation is the only notable thing about the franchise. However, by looking at the studio's past works, it's made apparent that Demon Slayer's popularity is not for the reason fans think.
In addition to Demon Slayer, Ufotable adapted several installments of the Fate Series, making it a recognized studio for its high-level production. Yet, because of this, the contrast between franchises highlights that Demon Slayer's animation isn't the only thing behind the series' impact, shining light on what makes...

Demon Slayer’s popularity has been constantly rising since it first began its serialization. It got a further boost in its popularity when it was adapted into an anime. The plot revolves around Tanjirou Kamado, whose family was killed by the Demon King. Later, he joins the Demon Slayer Corps and goes on a journey to avenge his family. Apart from the story, it was the animation that stood out the most.
Demon Slayer season one mostly covered the Water Breathing Style. Several characters from season one was shown to use it, including Tomioka Giyu and Urokodaki Sakonji. Even the main protagonist also trained to learn the Water Breathing Style. The Water Breathing Style was a visual treat to the fans, but there was a lot of hard work that went into bringing it onto the screen.

Have you ever heard a song that mesmerizes you so much that you have to just... sit down for a minute? That was me when I first heard Iniko's "Jericho." It's hard not to be captivated by their music, but then I found out they're also an anime fan who is inspired by the stories it tells! If you’ve been involved with the anime community any time in the past few years, there’s a good chance you’ve at least heard of the Fate series. Whether it’s Fate/Zero , Fate/Stay Night , or one of the numerous Fate/Grand Order adaptations, you’ve probably seen people discussing the series or sharing artwork from it. But what actually is this series? Speaking as a long-time fan, I’ll admit, it’s difficult to know where to even start with all these adaptations, spinoffs, games, and more, which is why I’m here to go through the history of this franchise, where it started, where it is now, and how to get into it for newcomers who want to try it out. Hulu has an excellent catalog of anime shows and movies, including exclusive programs and specific dubs. It's a great place to go for watching anime. Popular shonen anime that have had a massive impact on the Western anime community, like Fate/Zero, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Attack on Titan are available to watch on Hulu – and are perfect for new fans. Other notable shonen anime available on the service, like Megalobox, Kill la Kill, and Cowboy Bebop created waves for the impact that they've made on the modern anime industry when they were originally airing, and remain classics even now.
While its library isn't as extensive as other websites, Hulu is still a great site for streaming anime, including shonen. Hulu has an excellent catalog of anime shows and movies both old and new, and as streaming has become a bigger market, they've even managed to secure the exclusive rights to...

2014 saw the rise of great anime like Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei! and Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, which elevated the Fate franchise to new heights. Amagi Brilliant Park showcased Kyoto Animation's signature art and animation, making it a standout series in an already strong year of anime. No Game No Life and Yuki Yuna Is a Hero proved that they could hold their own in their respective genres, even after a decade.
The landscape of anime has certainly changed a lot since 2014, but that doesn't mean there isn’t any good anime to watch from a decade ago. Even though an entire decade has passed, there are plenty of great anime from 2014 that are still actively producing new content after 10 years, and even for those that finished their stories, they ended up leaving such a big impact on people that they’re still held in high regard after so many years.

Anime fights often end in tragedy: sometimes the hero dies, and other the victory has such a high price that it leaves the victors feeling worse. Some fights stand out due to stellar animation, while others stand out for the tragic stories behind them. Tragic fights can also involve two heroes facing off against each other, and their outcomes are often bittersweet.

The success of Oshi no Ko and Frieren: Beyond Journey's End has put the spotlight on anime that open with theatrical-length episodes. While uncommon, anime sometimes open with episodes that run for an hour or more, either to end things at a certain point without rushing or to expand on the source material. Those episodes are often a sign of a spectacular production, and their anime are often the best of their seasons.
An anime that opens with a theatrical-length episode is usually one that’s more than worth watching, and here are 10 that stand out as among the best. It should be noted that many of the anime listed here will have their premieres technically run for a little less than an hour, as the extra time will come from either commercials when they aired in Japan or advertisements that may run on certain streaming services. In spite of how the show ended, Game of Thrones will forever be seen as the standard-bearer for the fantasy genre, for how globally renowned and beloved the series became. Game of Thrones was epic in many ways, from the scale of its world-building and the countless characters that were explored, to the massive battles, shocking twists, and persistent sense of dread that lingered throughout.
Very few fantasy series have come close to recapturing that epic feeling that Game of Thrones had, but there are some exceptions in the world of anime. Anime has the luxury of going overboard with its creativity, which naturally allows fantastical ideas to take on a life of their own in the most exaggerated ways. Puella Magi Madoka Magica rocked the entire anime community when it was first released back in 2011. Quite possibly Gen Urobuchi's most successful work, Madoka Magica introduced anime fans to a bright, colorful world that wasn't what it seemed. By the end of episode three and after witnessing Mami Tomoe's demise, viewers were made painfully aware of what type of anime Madoka Magica was shaping up to be—but this should have been expected with the Urobutcher behind the wheel, a moniker he earned with his often hard-hitting, blood-soaked narratives. When Gen is involved, there's likely to be a good amount of death. And although he already put the magical girl quintet through the wringer, he wasn't quite done with them yet.
Gen Urobuchi is known for his somber, often depressing works, such as Psycho-Pass and Fate/Zero. With Madoka Magica, Gen successfully subverted audience expectations by pretending that the series...

After the superb hour-long special Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn- whetted fans’ interest, the popular Fate/strange Fake series of light novels will be getting a full series adaptation. The next anime installment of the Fate franchise, Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn- is set to premiere soon. With a franchise as large and complex as Fate, it can be tricky to get a grasp on how any individual entry relates to any other and what you need to know before watching it. Luckily, Fate/strange Fake seems relatively self-contained, although it does seem to be turning the typical Fate formula on its head.
Most Fate anime focus on a Holy Grail War. These are magical conflicts wherein various masters summon historical or mythological servants to fight for them until one is left standing. This victor then will receive a wish from the Holy Grail. A typical Holy Grail War will include a set of six servants each serving in a specific niche of Saber, Archer, Lancer, Assassin, Caster, and Rider. Some anime have changed this formula however, such as Fate/Apocrypha,...

For a long time, anime shows have been praised for their ability to capture complex topics like martial arts down to their essence. There have been several action anime series over the years that have succeeded in every way possible, giving viewers an exhilarating experience. The Fate franchise has had no shortage of epic fights throughout its various movies, shows, and games, but a trailer for the series’ newest entry is promising its most epic fight yet. Fate is a franchise that mostly focuses around events called holy grail wars that involve mages using the revived spirits of famous heroes and villains from throughout history to fight each other. One of the most popular of these servants is Gilgamesh, the ancient Babylonian king who starred in a titular epic. Part of what makes the new anime Fate/strange Fake so exciting is the interesting ways it promises to use and develop his character further.
This is part of what makes the Fate/strange Fake trailer (posted to Youtube) so cool. At the end of the trailer, Gilgamesh and his old companion Enkidu face each other, each about to release the full power of their Noble Phantasms,...

An anime series based on popular open-world role-playing game “Genshin Impact” is officially in the works.
HoYoverse, the Shanghai-based game developer behind “Genshin Impact,” announced a partnership with Japanese animation studio Ufotable to develop an anime based on the RPG. It also released a three-minute “concept trailer” in announcing the project (watch below).

Blinken’s choices actually are two lists — one an “at home” compilation of American artists, the other an “on the road” selection inspired by places he’s visited over the past year.
The “at home” list — which you can see here — includes 17 choices, including Olivia Rodrigo’s “Traitor,” Taylor Swift’s “State of Grace,” Jon Batiste’s “Freedom,” Chris Stapleton’s “You Should Probably Leave” and “Leave the Door Open” from Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak and Silk Sonic, as well as “Holy” from Justin Bieber, featuring Chance the Rapper.
