Avis à la une
Very French show returning for a second season 10 years later in a different format, from a long season of short 2min episodes to a short season of 30-45min episodes.
The quality of that second season is phenomenal. I did watch the first episode out of curiosity but got hooked pretty quickly. It is very very good. The pace, the storytelling, the acting, the writing, the editing.. all is very very good. Laura Felpin is a gem. A few minor cringe moments every now and then but it's part of the identity of the show and definitely not a real issue.
Made me laugh, made me cry, made me think. I didn't expect a show of that quality and binged it in a day. 30-45yo will probably relate most as it is particularly relevant to general life situations.
Thank you and keep making that kind of qualitative content!!
(You can skip the first season you won't be lost.)

One of the main things I love about this show, is how it has the power to transcend ordinary life to something so special. This show follows a n ordinary Parisian man, his dating life, his job(s), his friends and and daily life. The man in question is pretty ordinary, however through brilliant writing and directing this show is able to keep the audience entertained in every episode. One of the brilliance of the show is that, while his life is so simple and ordinary we don't get bored and can relate. We become the character because it is applicable to all of us. The writers and directors are also able to produce a show where each individual episode can be watched on their own, but put together have a story to tell. Each episode has just as much comedy as the previous one, it's smart, funny, original and will keep you laughing the whole way.
Bref is a France based short TV show that focuses on an everyday man who resumes some events in his life by starting most sentences with "bref" ("anyway" is he closest translation to the word). Throughout the series he introduces us to his habits, his friends, his family and personality. Each episode lasts about 1:45 min and shows very unimportant events happening around him but is able to make them funny and interesting. The viewer will enjoy it between two TV shows. The series is available on the official website of Canal + and seems to have a huge success in France. The show has been very acclaimed and produced already 17 episodes and seems to be scheduled for more.
In order to fully understand Bref., you need to be French, from Paris and an adult. Bref. Hit hard when it came out with so many truths. And now it has come back to hit you even harder. A bit like like the Trainspotting 2 trailer "after all these years".
The actors have all matured like fine wine and gave wonderful performances. The writing is smart, sensible et precise.
If your life was on the right track ten years ago, and stayed that way, you might smile and have a good laugh. Bref. Does the job as a comedy.
If your life is a mess, Bref. Has a message for you. It is all about family, friends and love. Love yourself, and others will love you kind of thing. So, if you want to find out who's in the way of your own happiness, watch Bref.2 on your own. Bring tissues.

Bref.2 is a very good show that depict the ordinary life of an ordinary man in an extraordinary way. Every experience is an occasion to bring out some outstanding realisation.
It's a comedy, a very funny one, but I found myself in tears a good few times, which is a very good sign in my book.
The caracters are diverse and very well developped and while the plot developpement can be a bit predicatable, it's done in such an unpredictable way that you will not notice.
Laura Felpin is such a good actress.
Marla (played by Bérangère Krief) and her relationship with "Je" were genius works.
Everything fit so well with the first season while being so different, I can't praise this serie enough for their work.
