John Allman (Harry Connick Jr.) is an aged one-hit rocker. His latest album flopped. He moves into his newly purchased house on Cyprus. Unbeknownst to him, it's on top of a cliff where many people go to commit suicide. He befriends local sassy singer Melina (Ali Fumiko Whitney). He reconnects with old flame Sia (Agni Scott) who is the subject of his one big hit.
Harry is good at depressed while being slightly funny. I always like Harry even in bad movies. In this one, I like all the other characters as well. I really like that Melina sees him as ancient. I did worry about Hollywood doing Hollywood things until it becomes obvious who she is. There is a big confrontation and that's really the high point of the movie. The movie runs out of drama. It really needs one more issue to top off the drama. All in all, I like the characters. The awkward issues resolve themselves and it's an enjoyable watch.

This is more of a Family movie than a Romance.. and as you could expect, it resparks more than old relationships. The script is quite simple and straightforward (and rather cheesy at times), but it has a good and satisfactory conclusion! It does feel like it is everything they wanted to make, even if it could feel like it falls short from greatness. But it is one of those films that don't have to wow the viewer, as long as it delivers a consistently good story with decent execution.
Saw it in non-English (songs in original voices), but did not deter me from finding the cast to be likeable enough to enjoy it for what it is.

Forget about all the other aspects of this movie that you may, or may not, like. The star of this movie is Cyprus, the beautiful Greek island invaded by and partitioned by the Turkish government in the 1970's. Its landscapes, culture, music, and actors are worth the price of admission here. The story of Harry Connick Jr's return to the island, as an aging American rock star, is very enjoyable. I don't love Connick's acting in this one. His attempts to be edgy are not really suited to him, but he is still a likable presence. The story is a Rom-com, with more emphasis on the Romance than the Comedy. It is enjoyable and I liked it.

This fit for me on a lazy Sunday night. A romance, not unlike a Lifetime romance, only with a better caliber of acting. It was predictable and any twist in the action was easily figured out way before it happens. There's something to be said about this kind of watch though. It's not Sound of Music or Gone With the Wind, but it does have its place. It's for a time when you don't have to think too much, nor do you want to. It's just to enjoy a sweet second chance romance with a good cast from courtship to happily ever after. There is music involved too. Trigger warning of the subject of suicide as a kind of back story. No part of the cast dies or anything. Just be aware.

Cyprus is a perfect backdrop to a story about love, hope, family and empathy. With Harry Connick as the lead we ease into a story of lost love and new friends with beautiful music. What's not to like. Wish the character development was a little deeper but this one was refreshing and light. I especially appreciated the way all the women shared supportive energy. The way all the characters filled out the story made a sure comedy win. I remember meeting a group of guys from Cyprus who ran a fish shack in London. It was the most inviting little place with charm and humor. Even though they were just selling fish and chip they made you want to stay all night and just talk. This film expresses the hospitality of Cyprus. Just hang out and talk.

A small film from Stelana Kliris, a newcomer filmmaker who is a South African-Cypriot woman. This is the first Cypriot film to be released worldwide through Netflix. Previously, she had only worked on small short films. However, for her first full-length feature, it's incredible how well she both wrote and directed it, surpassing the quality of many Netflix Original productions.
A small romantic comedy that stands out in many ways, surpassing many original Netflix productions. From the unique plot details centered around the "most popular suicide spot and love", which the story intertwines deeply with the complex romantic past of the male lead who is a former rock star. The film also incorporates music, seamlessly blending it into the story as if it were a musical. I highly recommend not overlooking this small film.

Cyprus set romantic comedy - sort of 'ish(!) - about an ageing rock star who returns to the island in semi-retirement and rekindles a long-ago love affair with the girl he left behind on his way to fame 'n fortune. Beautiful location and a reasonable attempt at the rom-com genre, with Harry Connick Jr playing the lead and a decent cast providing the support, in particular Ali Fumiko Whitney. It's enjoyable and watchable if a little clunky and predictable at times, script and dialogue are ok and the run time is about right, it doesn't drag but gently winds its way to the conclusion we all know is coming. An easy going feel good movie that provides enough to make it worth a watch...

Man, this movie just has heart.
Probably not one for the Academy Awards but if I base my measurement on how much this movie could move my heart and lift my soul, then it was one of the best things I've seen in a while.
Sure, I'm a guy and as I'm in my thirties, this story seems a bit above by life experience. But I mean, I get it. It just speaks volumes about life, love and the human connection.
I wonder how something like this even gets made these days. Or are some big wigs awakening and getting tired of the same old same old Hollywood nonsense as well?
If you love a glass of wine and ponder about some mysteries of life and aren't afraid to connect with your soul, then this movie might be a good watch.
Gotta love the laugh out love moments as well. They are as sweet as they are bitter. The best kind, with lots of heart.
PS. If everything you watch must make sense, don't bother. Watch this one with your heart open.

Korea remains in first place, continuously turning out scripts that are world-class, and heavily nuanced. Canada holds its place at the bottom of the heap, offering the least complicated stories in the category. The cotton candy of rom-coms. And, after this film, Cyprus makes a grand entrance onto our Leader Board, with FIND ME FALLING 2024, a gentle but engaging tale that never disappoints in terms of either story or scenary. An unintended sub-arc here is how men age. Connick sounds the young man from days of yore, but he looks different, and his energy is different too. Luckily, the newer (older) Connick is perfect for this part. Contrast Harry to Bob Joyce, for example, who, after an even longer absence from the public eye, has kept his hairline, his twinkle, and his unique lower register. Recommended.((Designated "IMDb Top Reviewer." I wanted to like this I truly did. Cypress is a beautiful place. And I was in the mood for a good rom-com. Harry connick Jr I've seen before he was in a few guest starring roles I believe it was Will and Grace back in the day. Probably some other rules. The point being that I expected more from him. Instead it was really pretty one-dimensional he doesn't seem to have an emotional range and quite honestly doesn't seem to vary his contempt for pretty much everybody he meets. It gets tiring to watch a character like that. And then you wonder what ever was the chemistry between him and his former love interest. In any case my main point in coming here wasn't to trash the man it was to wonder who the heck is rating this stuff at a 10 or a 9 here? I find it inconceivable that those are legitimate reviews.

First of all, don't expect the same level of directing and acting that you see in American or British movies. That being said, I think this movie has a lot of great ideas and the story works quite well, even though some scenes are a bit awkward if you're used to mainstream media. I'd give it an 8 if it wasn't for a few lines that don't really fit and can seem a bit forced sometimes. For a low budget movie, I think the result is pretty great. Maybe if they had more resources, we could see some of the previous story from the main character. Regardless, I would 100% recommend watching this and I wish there were more movies like this from less known places in the world. Nice work!!
Based on past experiences, I typically stay away from Netflix romcoms, but the trailer for this looked interesting, and I like Harry Connick Jr. So I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. Going into this, I wasn't all that familiar with Cyprus but this little island country in the eastern Mediterranean Sea provided a breathtaking backdrop for this sweet, heartwarming love story. Connick Jr. Plays John Allman, a washed-up rock star fresh off a failed comeback album who attempts to escape the harsh reality of that by buying a remote house in Cyprus. A local invites him to meet at a tavern in town and while there, John is introduced to a table of patrons, including Sia, a woman he met and fell head-over-heels for before he became a rock star.

Harry Connick Jr. - he's got that effortless charm that draws you in before you even realize it. The man's not just a good singer; he's got a face that radiates warmth, the kind of guy who makes you feel at ease with just a glance. So when Netflix dangles his name in front of you, leading a movie, it's hard not to bite. And for the most part, it's a solid catch. The film serves up just the right amount of humor and awkward moments, all set against the kind of sun-soaked, postcard-perfect European villa that makes you want to book a flight.
But then, the twists start to feel a little too convenient, and the minor characters? Let's just say, you won't be losing sleep over them. Yet, just when you think you've seen all the film has to offer, in walks Ali Fumiko Whitney as Melina. She's the real revelation here - a talent so undeniable it almost hurts that she doesn't even have a Wikipedia page. Not yet, anyway. After this, though? She deserves more roles, a music career, anything. She's the kind of talent you don't see coming, but once you do, you're all in. And yeah, I'd buy that album in a heartbeat.

I was really disappointed in this. Sure, location was beautiful and the food looked awesome, hence, the 3. But the story and characters just weren't good. No chemistry between the leads, for one. And both just had really poor attitudes so didn't care about either. They acted like spoiled children which is really off putting for an adult romance. I found myself really irritated with the entire story line too. Won't give spoilers, but didn't like the way it all played out. They also did a weird job of poking fun at a serious topic in the first few minutes of the movie which set an odd tone for a romance. Could've accomplished same story with different, less tacky angle. Ended up skipping through last 20 minutes or so as I just didn't care.
Ok, so I'm a woman and I loved this little gem of a movie. But my fella loved it too.
So good to see Harry Connick Junior back on our screens. Missed him so much. It's time he came back to what he does best. Musical, romance and a few laughs.
This film is a hidden gem because it's set in Cyprus with all those lovely views. Lots of local people. It's a little predictable but who cares. You get caught up in the feel of the film. The Greek/Cypriot way of life. It's definitely a great advert for the islands. The storyline is a sweet romance set in this beautiful place. It's so easy to watch and I love the characters relationships. Each character you get to know are all a part of this story. I think that's why I liked it so much. Because you get to know each person.
Give it a go, it's a lighthearted bit of old fashioned romance and comedy. We really liked it.

Good film overall. Some little things bothered me, though. Why not knock on her door after serenading her?.. She is obviously behind that door waiting for him to finish his "move". Why just decide to "leave for a great opportunity" after discovering something really important? Why not actually finish building the fence? I get the fence metaphor, but the real life implications are way more important. The disappointment of the fence not built separates this film from a ten out of ten one.
It does have some well done things, too, though: the policeman, the grandma, the sister, the tavern are all done really well. The armchair against the door that night almost propelled that film into ten out or ten, they should have followed that theme through, though.

Do yourself a favor and don't bother watching this god awful film. It is so formulaic and so badly acted that half an hour into it the only thought you will have is that you're glad you didn't have to pay to watch it. You have seen regurgitated versions of this story line for decades and while you may hope there's some redeeming plot twist or comedic relief you will be sorely disappointed. The scenery in Cyprus is beautiful and that's a temporary relief from the daggers of terrible acting poking out your eyes and numbing your brain. There's little left to say about this utter waste of time. It's just bad!!

Harry Connick Jnr we love you and so good to see you back in movies!
Such a beautiful setting, movie and music focussing on friendship, family values and lost love with a wonderful cast of local Greek actors.
Also refreshing seeing an age appropriate Gen X relationship for once. For me it was a cross between a Mamma Mia type storyline with dominant female characters and yet also a Crazy Heart type feeling without the country and western vibe. I wish more movies like this were produced providing such a non Hollywood vibe supporting local indépendant actors filmed on location in such a beautiful part of the world. More like this please 😊

Find Me Falling is the first ever Cypriot feature film on Netflix directed by Stelana Kliris. This romantic comedy is about a down and out musician John Allman who is played by Harry Connick Jr. He takes a breaks from his career and buys a plot of land on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus along the edge of the coast. Allman without knowledge notices the town citizens come to his cliff to commit suicide. His endeavor was not just a reset but reuniting with his old flame Sia (Agni Scott). Harry learns he has a daughter named Melina (Ali Furniko Whitney) who has a beautiful voice much like his own. The movie was predictable, boy reunites with girl, loses her and gets her back. This was good to watch once, nothing great to write home about besides the beautiful music.
I watched this.
This is basically a Hallmark movie with Harry Connick Jr.
The best thing I can say about it is it's only 90 minutes long.
The next best thing is it was filmed in Cyprus and it is a gorgeous place.
The third good thing is that there are a lot of locals they used in this movie so on that way, along with the scenery, it reminded me of my beloved Inspector Montalbano movies, which were filmed in Sicily and had a lot of local actors.
Other than that it was rather boring and some of it is weird in a bad way (I don't want to spoil it so I'll stop there but you'll see it right away).
I really don't know why they made this movie. It is almost painfully predictable. It's almost like this was a college project that Harry funded or something. It's that strange.
All this being said I do like Harry and if you are a fan you will enjoy seeing him. I did.
