Pete Davidson is looking back on the fallout after he decided to pull the plug on his Peacock series Bupkis.
The 30-year-old comedian and actor opened up about the situation during a new interview with The Breakfast Club, where he also discussed his sobriety and life in the spotlight.
“I canceled Bupkis and I got in trouble for it ’cause I didn’t— I love that show, I loved doing Bupkis, I had a blast, thank you [host Charlamagne tha God] for being in it,” Pete shared.
“It just got to a point where I got really tired of my whole career just being my personal life, and living through that is sort of traumatic — not to be lame — but it’s traumatic to live in your own crap all the time.”

Pete Davidson says he ended Peacock’s Bupkis despite a Season 2 renewal and that the move briefly put him “in purgatory” with NBCUniversal, describing the company’s reaction as “not pleased.” In a new radio interview, the comedian said he “got in trouble” after deciding the semi-autobiographical show kept dragging his real life into the spotlight, adding that a proposed creative direction made him uncomfortable. He also said he covered costs for staff affected by the decision: “I took care of the writers’ room and anyone who didn’t get paid that needed to.”
The remarks clarify a March 2024 announcement that halted the series after one season, less than a year after it had been picked up for more episodes. At the time, Davidson framed the choice as closing a chapter, while thanking collaborators and the network. Bupkis premiered May 4, 2023, and followed a heightened version of his life, with Edie Falco...

Pete Davidson is reflecting on the time he was in “trouble” with NBCUniversal over the cancellation of his semi-autobiographical dramedy Bupkis on Peacock.
In a sprawling interview conducted recently with The Breakfast Club, the Saturday Night Live alum candidly discussed everything from his sobriety to the tabloid fixation on his personal life. He also touched on his choice to end Bupkis after one season last year, which he said at the time was informed by wanting “a chance to tell my story my way” after having “nearly a decade of my personal life being in the media.”

Although Sinners has landed among the top box office releases of 2025 so far, Machine Gun Kelly had his reasons for passing up a role in the film.
The Grammy nominee recently claimed he was “supposed to” audition to play a vampire in writer/director Ryan Coogler‘s critically-acclaimed supernatural period piece about two brothers taking on blood-sucking neighbors in the South.
“Like Sinners, I was supposed to be in that,” said Kelly on The Pat McAfee Show, according to Billboard. “The vampire, they had me set up to do the audition — it’s the one that’s in the house, so he’s the second vampire, the one that the guy comes and eats the family. In the audition, he has to say the ‘n-word’ and I wouldn’t do it.”

Louis C.K. wasn’t exactly a beloved comedy figure when he was a 2022 guest on Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast with hosts Shane Gillis and Matt McCusker. But that didn’t stop him from spending hours breaking down the U.S. Presidents — like, all of them — in a massive, four-part history episode. Gillis eventually took a break from discussing “fascinating dude” Lyndon B. Johnson because, in the podcast world, somebody’s got to pay the bills.
“Let’s do this,” Gillis said. “We’re going to read some ads, and then we’re going to switch over to the Patreon for the last part.”

Pete Davidson is one of the most talked-about stars in the entertainment industry, and it’s mostly thanks to his numerous relationships. For the record, these have ranged from the likes of Kim Kardashian to Ariana Grande to even Chase Sui Wonders, with his relationship with the lattermost star even being deemed ‘sacred’ by the actress herself.
After playing co-stars onscreen with undeniable chemistry in the critics-approved horror-comedy Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022), Wonders and Davidson joined hands again to work on the comedy-drama TV series Bupkis (2023), in which she played his girlfriend. Somewhere in the midst of it all, the pair developed chemistry in real life as well.

When the first season of Pete Davidson's comedy series "Bupkis" premiered, many viewers were surprised by how well-made and thoughtful it was. Davidson is known for his use of shock humor and teenage boy-style gross-out antics. While the first episode lives up to that reputation (the very first scene is Pete accidentally ejaculating on his mother), the rest of the series is surprisingly mature. "Bupkis" season 1 is Davidson at his most introspective; it's a semi-autobiographical story about a guy who knows he needs to change but who can't quite do it.
Season 1 ended on the cliffhanger of Pete getting into a car crash on his way to his sister's graduation ceremony. Will Pete survive? Will he get his act together? Will he earn back the trust and respect of his family? Fans were told they'd have to wait until season 2 for an answer to any of these questions, but...

Pete Davidson is making his horror debut with the latest thriller from “The Purge” creator James DeMonaco. After starring in killer comedy “Bodies Bodies Bodies,” Davidson fully leans into the genre with DeMonaco’s “The Home” which is set in a retirement community.
Davidson plays a rebellious twentysomething who is sentenced to community service at the seemingly-quiet nursing home. However, the residents on the fourth floor are strictly off-limits due to their “special care” procedures. As the logline teases, “as his suspicions grow and he digs deeper, he uncovers a chilling secret that puts both the residents’ lives and his own in grave danger.” John Glover and Bruce Altman also star. DeMonaco directs from a script he co-wrote with Adam Cantor.
“When I set out to create ‘The Home,’ I aimed to capture the spine-chilling eeriness of 70’s horror, where suspense simmers and ultimately erupts into glorious chaos,” DeMonaco said.

Audiences have countless associations with John Mulaney. He’s a virtuosic comic. He’s a sketch performer. He’s a Broadway star. He’s an Emmy-winning writer. He’s a talk show host. In a sense, he’s Spider-Pig. What we don’t talk about enough is how great Mulaney is as a TV comedy guest star, but now that he’s popped up in Season Two of Poker Face, we really should.
To be clear: I’m not talking about Mulaney’s work as a series regular or sketch comic. The pair remained close, with the character even swinging by again for another guest spot in the fourth season, but since then, Pete hasn’t come back around — despite telling John that he’d continue to surprise him with visits.

Pete Davidson is staying humble about his “SNL” experience. The actor, who starred on “Saturday Night Live” from 2014 to 2022, told Variety that there are “hundreds” of fellow cast members who “did better work” than him during his tenure on the sketch series.
Davidson first joined at age 20 as a featured player. He later parted ways with the live show in May 2022; however, he returned for the “SNL50” event in 2025.
“I think I was very lucky to get my own own video [during the ‘SNL50’ special],” Davidson said. “There’s 1,000 cast members and hundreds that are more popular and did better work than I did while I was there. I was just very grateful to be in a sketch and have a video and even just be invited. It was very surreal to see.”

After spending 14 seasons as Grisha “G” Callen on CBS’ “NCIS: Los Angeles,” actor Chris O’Donnell is returning to television to lead the cast of ABC’s “9-1-1: Nashville,” the second spinoff series from the network’s flagship drama “9-1-1.”
The new iteration received a straight to series order and will help fill the void left by the cancellation of “9-1-1: Lone Star,” which ended its five season run last month on Fox.
According to Deadline, O’Donnell will play Captain Don Sharpe, described as a rugged fire captain and rodeo rider who runs Nashville’s busiest firehouse with his beloved son. Although a devoted husband and family man, Don has secrets he’d like to remain that way.
Written and executive produced by the franchise’s co-creators Ryan Murphy and Tim Minear and “9-1-1: Lone Star” showrunner Rashad Raisani, the show is set to premiere sometime during the 2025-2026 television season,...

The list of Saturday Night Live’s all-time greatest cast members doesn’t exactly match up with the roster of comedians who’ve appeared in the most episodes. More than half of the 10 longest-tenured SNL comics — Kenan Thompson, Colin Jost, Michael Che, Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong and Aidy Bryant all lasted double-digit seasons — appeared in the 2020s.
This is new. This is weird. Why don’t cast members want to leave the show anymore?
Chevy Chase couldn’t wait to go. After one year of SNL success, he was hungry to try his hand at the movies. Bill Murray, John Belushi and Eddie Murphy jumped ship after four seasons. No one wanted Tina Fey to leave, say James Andrew Miller and Tom Shales in their book Live From New York, “but as the saying goes, It Was Time.”
Will it ever be time for Thompson, now hanging out for 22 seasons and counting?...

Everybody Loves Raymond is forever. You could turn it on today, watch Ray complain, and it still hits. Timeless. The show dropped on September 13, 1996, and instantly became a classic. For nine years, it had us laughing and crying. With its penetrating humor and relatable chaos, it snagged 15 Emmys before ending in 2005.
The Barone family? Messy, dysfunctional, and always up in each other’s business. That’s why we loved them. Ray dodging his parents, Debra fighting for space, Robert being, well, Robert. It gave us classic moments we’re still quoting.

But if you hear his reasoning, it kinda feels understandable and maybe even a teensy bit relatable — particularly when you consider the fact that Davidson was freshly 21 years old when he joined the cast.

The explosion of content from Netflix, Disney+ and other streamers has resulted in more TV shows than any human can possibly watch. And while the glut of content created something for everyone, the era of peak TV is over, with contraction in Hollywood bringing several shows to an end — many after just one season.
Single-season streaming cancellations in 2024 have included the surprise axing of Disney’s “Star Wars” series “The Acolyte” — a show whose premiere performed well according to Disney+’s own metrics — and Netflix series such as “The Brothers Sun,” “Obliterated” and “Dead Boy Detectives,” which once reigned in the streamer’s Top 10 lists and top 100 most-watched TV titles for the first half of 2024.

Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) has slowly but surely been taking over the horror world as of late thanks to the ever-growing popularity of the Terrifier films. What started as a short film, went on to become a full-fledged indie feature, and now its sequels are being shown in theaters (with delightfully disgusted reactions from fans). Since Art has become such a well-known horror villain as of late, as are the Terrifier films, its no surprise that both are getting more exposure. Still, its strange to see Art existing outside the context of a Terrifier film, even more so when hes guest starring in the Pete Davidson-led comedy-drama series, Bupkis. But surprisingly, thats exactly where you can find him in a cheeky little cameo in the Peacock series.

Pete Davidson returned to Saturday Night Live for the first time in a year to take part in the latest Broadway musical-inspired sketch in a John Mulaney-hosted episode.
In the spirit of “Airport Sushi,” “Bodega Bathroom,” “Diner Lobster” and “Subway Churro,” Mulaney and his SNL company presented “Port Authority Duane Reade,” which comes to life after the (now-tattooless) Davidson asks Mulaney’s cashier for an expired, overheated carton of (possum) milk before his bus ride back to Boston.
From there, the sketch parodied songs from The Lion King, Les Miserables,...

There are quite a few famous faces who appeared on Saturday Night Live for a limited number of episodes: Ben Stiller, Gilbert Gottfried, Damon Wayans…Whether they bailed, were let go or decided to try to tank the show mid-air, they all have that distinction of having at least made it to Studio 8H. But few – that is, just two – people were hired but never got the chance to enter the famed studio. One of these sorta-kinda SNL cast members is Shane Gillis, who was hired in 2019 but fired after racist and homophobic statements he made resurfaced. Now, Lorne Michaels is standing by Gillis, pinning the blame on his firing on the network.
Speaking with The Wall Street Journal, Lorne Michaels admitted that Shane Gillis was in the wrong but that it maybe shouldn’t have cost him his spot on SNL. “He said something stupid, but it got blown...

Saturday Night Live has weathered its share of controversies over the years, but none of them seem to stick in Lorne Michaels’ craw like the firing of Shane Gillis. The popular comedian was hired in 2019 along with Bowen Yang and Chloe Fineman, but before Gillis could get a picture taken for his security badge, he was fired for offensive comments he’d made in podcasts over the years. What kinds of comments? Racist, homophobic, sexist — Gillis didn’t play favorites.
A statement was issued “on behalf of Lorne Michaels” disavowing Gillis’s remarks. “After talking with Shane Gillis, we have decided that he will not be joining SNL,” the statement read. “The language he used is offensive, hurtful and unacceptable. We are sorry that we did not see these clips earlier, and that our vetting process was not up to our standard.”

Thanks to a lackluster response to “Joker: Folie a Deux,” the unrated horror film “Terrifier 3” opened in the no. 1 position in theaters this weekend — allowing a different clown to take down the more famous one. The movie, which was released in 2,514 theaters, earned $8.1 million on opening day.
Fans of the film have a renewed interest in its villain Art the Clown, who was first featured in the 2013 movie “All Hallows’ Eve.”
What is “Terrifier”?
“Terrifier” is a 2016 horror film written and directed by Damien Leone. The movie is about two sisters — played by Jenna Kanell and Samantha Scaffidi — who become the target of a serial killer known as Art the Clown.

By any metric – film output, fanbase size, media attention, merchandising, recognizability – Art the Clown is quickly rising through the ranks as a horror icon for the modern generation the same way that Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Michael Myers became household names in the 1980s.
Terrifier‘s humble beginnings originated in the mind of Damien Leone. Prior to making his directorial debut, the New York-based aspiring filmmaker and special effects artist envisioned a clown terrorizing a woman on a city bus.
Leone realized his vision in The 9th Circle, a 2008 short film in which Art The Clown made his first appearance as one of several evil entities. The homicidal clown returned as the antagonist in Terrifier, a 2011 short film that helped establish many of the character’s trademarks.
Terrifier caught the attention of producer Jesse Baget, who reached out to Leone about including it in an anthology alongside other filmmakers’ shorts.
