I loved it.

A funny, cringeworthy, clever, engrossing, joyous, deep, tender, sexy, silly fantasy of aging and sexuality, wrapped in plot full of twists. You want to turn away, but you can't stop watching.

Definitely some adult themes. Occasionally the boundaries get pushed pretty far, but it's done with such style and empathy for the characters that it works.

I'm hoping it will be picked up for another season while retaining the quality and originality of the first season. It seems a lot of series I've watched lately do a great First Season and then drop the ball after being picked up for later seasons. I'm hoping they can keep this going for a Second Season and beyond without losing the quality and vibe of the First Seaon.

Alphonse was a pure delight to watch. Other than the pure talent of Jean Dujardin, I didn't know what to expect.

I watched the serie in French and would say it is one of the most thoughtful and well-acted serie I have seen ever. It makes my top 10 EVER!

The storyline is original and brilliant. It allows to discover complex characters one by one and peel the onions with delight, combining laugh and tears. If you enjoyed the versatility of Jean Dujardin in "Un gars une Fille" you will not be disappointed here. He is a pure chameleon with humour, sensibility and depth.

The story has multiple layers which add to the pleasure of discovering where this unusual tale could go whilst addressing some of the larger philosophic implications.

The Direction is elegant and full of details that add spices to a well marinated sauce. This is similar to the excellent La Belle Epoque by the same Director.

I told about a dozen people during the Christmas break about this show. That was before seeing episodes 5 and 6 and now that I have completed, I can only confirm the build-up of story and characters does not disappoint. I am eager for more.

I absolutely loved how loneliness and at the same time desire to cheer for life was tastefully represented through elderly women's connection with Alphone which is not common to see in cinema. It's classy series with deeper mind behind it. Something we all want is to be loved and accepted despite our age. We are forever young, however life is so fragile and time will end. Some people need money and some would give it all to live some moments again and again. Some discover talent to support another and it's own needs even if it is not so acceptable in our society. There is not time to be shy or afraid to be judged. We live now and may die tomorrow.
